Fantasy Football NFL Week 7 Target Report: Davante Adams & Amari Cooper
We have to expect the landscape to get shaken up at some point. That’s every week in the NFL. But this week’s shakeup was one of the BIG one.
Not only did we get one blockbuster trade with Davante Adams being traded from the Las Vegas Raiders to the New York Jets, we got a SECOND one with Amari Cooper being traded to the Buffalo Bills.
That’s going to see the biggest movement, and the most speculation, that our Fantasy Football Week 7 Target Report is going to see. That comes on top of the typical weekly injuries we see as well as a potential quarterback change for the Pittsburgh Steelers from Justin Fields to Russell Wilson.
There’s no time to waste so let’s get to it.
2024 Fantasy Football NFL Week 7 Target Report Preview
Why do we do this? Well, historically incredibly rare for a team to have three players all get 100+ targets. It’s happened only once over the last three years and less than 3% of the time over the last five years.
More teams will have ZERO players get 100+ targets than have three. And, last year, every top 24 WR except one got 100+ targets (and that was Deebo Samuel who scored 5 rushing touchdowns). That’s why the NFL Fantasy Football Week 7 Target Report is so important.
In the chart below you will see our PROJECTION for what we believe will happen. That projection is a mix of what we are seeing on the field, who is actually healthy, and what we predict for the rest of the season.
Naturally, that is going to change from week to week and it’s important to check the notes section at the bottom as to why. Our 2024 NFL Fantasy Football Week 7 Target Report has a note for every single team. So, let’s take a look!

Fantasy Football Week 7 Target Report Advice & Takeaways
NOTE: If a team moved from where they were in the Week 6 NFL target report, they will be denoted with ***
Clear Top Two
Arizona Cardinals
- Trey McBride
- Marvin Harrison Jr
- Neither is on pace for 125 targets but both are on pace for the 100 we need for fantasy relevance. Marvin Harrison Jr left last week’s game with a concussion, so we’ll have to hope he clears concussion protocol. Michael Wilson will be the top outside wide receiver with Greg Dortch in the slot. Xavier Weaver stepped in last week but Zay Jones, who missed last week with a hamstring injury, was upgraded to the active roster this week. He’s no more than a DFS dart for the Monday slate.
Atlanta Falcons***
- Drake London
- Darnell Mooney
- At this stage we can’t really ignore what is happening here any longer. Drake London is the WR5, but Darnell Mooney is currently the WR19. And he’s not doing it just on long plays, he’s gotten consistent targets (currently on pace for 122). There is still some cloudiness with Ray-Ray McCloud and Kyle Pitts, but Mooney has earned the movement up to this section for the time being. Pitts needs to force the issue with more consistent targets but right now he’s only on pace for ~77 and is behind McCloud (on pace for ~91).
Cincinnati Bengals
- Ja'Marr Chase
- Tee Higgins
- We’re back to normal here. Andei Iosivas as the third fiddle is a TD dependent dart throw. Mike Gesicki and Erick All rotate too much to depend on. Now the running back pecking order might be in for a change though Zack Moss still was preferred on pass downs.
Indianapolis Colts***
- Michael Pittman
- Josh Downs
- How many games in a row does Josh Downs need to get 9+ targets before we acknowledge him? I’d say three now is enough. He could go back in the bottle when Anthony Richardson returns but if feels like a mistake to move away from their best chain mover just because the QB changes. Downs is a lot better in PPR than half or standard given his low aDot but the targets are there. Alex Pierce is a boom/bust field stretcher, and Adonai Mitchell is now the “next man up”.
New York Jets***
- Davante Adams
- Garrett Wilson
- This is what we are HOPING. That Davante Adams and Garrett Wilson can be the next Chase/Higgins or Evans/Godwin. But Aaron Rodgers could continue to lock in on guys like Allen Lazard and Tyler Conklin so it might not work out that way. Regardless, he got his way and his former top WR is in the big city. Tyler Conklin can be dropped.
Philadelphia Eagles***
- AJ Brown
- DeVonta Smith
- This team was listed under “highly consolidated”. But Saquon Barkley really hasn’t been targeted at a high level. And now Dallas Goedert is expected to miss time. He was already pretty clearly the third option but, for the foreseeable future, both AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith are locked in. They pretty much always were anyway.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Chris Godwin
- Mike Evans
- Mike Evans plays the tougher role and, therefore, faces the tougher matchups at times. It’s not fair but he’s a team player. Both of these guys should be in your lineup every week. Cade Otton as the third fiddle is not a high upside play but he plays virtually every snap so you could do worse.
High Consolidation
Houston Texans
- Nico Collins (IR)
- Stefon Diggs
- Tank Dell
- Dalton Schultz
- The injury to Nico Collins has opened the door to more work for Stefon Diggs, Tank Dell, and Dalton Schultz. Diggs has proven himself trustworthy regardless but the other two are now decent starts in an explosive offense whereas they were not quite reliable before the injury. Xavier Hutchinson and John Metchie split the work this week which doesn’t give us much.
Miami Dolphins
- Tyreek Hill
- Jaylen Waddle
- De’Vone Achane
- As of now only Tyreek Hill is on pace for 100+ targets. We know the situation here - it all boils down to whether Tua Tagovailoa is going to play or not this year. If he does announce that he is not playing, I would not be surprised to see them take a look at someone like Ryan Tannehill, assuming they are still in a position to compete.
New Orlean Saints
- Chris Olave
- Rashid Shaheed
- Alvin Kamara
- Yikes. Derek Carr is out. Chris Olave has a concussion. But the big question is Rashid Shaheed. They will go in to do knee surgery on a meniscus. If it’s partially torn, he could be back this season. If it’s fully torn, his year is done. We will find out soon. Bub Means will play Olave’s role, and Mason Tipton will play Shaheed’s role for now. Fingers crossed.
New York Giants
- Malik Nabers
- Wan’Dale Robinson
- Malik Nabers has missed two games now with a concussion, but he already amassed 51 targets over four games, so we know who he is. Wan’Dale Robinson continues to rake in low aDot targets making him a solid PPR play. Darius Slayton has stepped up big whenever Nabers has been hurt. And now RB Tyrone Tracy, a converted WR, has thrown his hat in the ring with 6 targets last week.
San Francisco 49ers
- Brandon Aiyuk
- Deebo Samuel
- George Kittle
- Technically this team still had three players all on pace for 100+ targets in Brandon Aiyuk, Deebo Samuel, and George Kittle. But, as we know with this team, each player can have boom weeks and bust weeks. The matchups vs. KC favor Kittle but you never quite know what Kyle Shanahan has planned.
One Stud, Then Uncertainty
Baltimore Ravens
- Zay Flowers
- No change here - Flowers is on pace for ~125 targets but no one else is on pace for more than 75. It’s hard to trust any of them for week to week so you’re basically hoping for a touchdown when you start them. And, even with Flowers, Derrick Henry can take over in any given week and make the passing game obsolete.
Buffalo Bills***
- Amari Cooper
- Big news here - the Bills have traded for Amari Cooper from the Cleveland Browns. And you don’t trade for a guy like that to not make him a focal point of the offense. The question now is whether Dalton Kincaid or Khalil Shakir can hang onto fantasy relevance. Sometimes a rising tide lifts all boats, sometimes he just takes all of the important targets.
Carolina Panthers
- Diontae Johnson
- Diontae Johnson, being the classic target hog that he is, is on pace for 150+ targets. No one else is even on pace for 70. The rookies with this team all remain the most interesting in Xavier Legette, Ja’Tavion Sanders, and Jonathan Brooks. Brooks was just activated from the PUP list. Sanders got some decent looks last week, but Tommy Tremble will be back at some point.
Chicago Bears
- DJ Moore
- Through 6 games, 44 targets represent a 125-target pace and 35 would be on pace for 100. DJ Moore has 45, no other player has more than 29. Both Cole Kmet and Rome Odunze got 10+ targets in one of the games Keenan Allen missed which is skewing those numbers.
Dallas Cowboys
- CeeDee Lamb
- With Brandin Cooks out, Jake Ferguson and Jalen Tolbert get a boost. But neither has really been exceptional with the opportunity. That said, last week against the Lions, no one was exceptional. Hopefully this week sees a bounce back and better production. Ferguson is not super athletic but he’s at least reliable for targets in PPR in this tight end landscape.
Denver Broncos
- Courtland Sutton
- After Sutton, this team has essentially been running live tryouts with 8 different pass-catchers getting a 60% snap share at some point. This week, DeVaughn Vele, Troy Franklin, and Lucas Krull all played 60% for their first time. It’s unpredictable from week to week making for deep bench stashes only. Our favorites are the three names mentioned above since we know who guys like Josh Reynold and Lil’Jordan Humphrey are. Plus, Josh Reynolds has a broken finger.
Detroit Lions
- Amon Ra St. Brown
- There’s still no change here as no one has really forced the issue the way say, Darnell Mooney has with the Falcons. Mooney is on a nearly 125 target pace while no one else here is on pace for 100. Jameson Williams is close but, with threats like Jahmyr Gibbs and Sam LaPorta there, he’s still not quite a “must start” player. However, we are starting him in a lot of spots.
Jacksonville Jaguars
- Brian Thomas Jr
- Even with a down game this week, Brian Thomas Jr got 6 targets - something he has done at least in four straight games. The return of Evan Engram muddies the waters for guys like Christian Kirk and Gabe Davis. If Engram can go out and have a game like he did last week against New England, we might elevate him here next week. Regardless, he’s in your lineups at a tough TE position.
Kansas City Chiefs
- Travis Kelce
- We are hopeful. We’re hopefully that JuJu Smith-Schuster or Xavier Worthy can step up. But we can’t crown anyone yet. Right now Travis Kelce is a guy you can trust and the others are guys that you can use if you need to. Unless they can swing a trade, that’s the game with Rashee Rice and Hollywood Brown done for the year.
Las Vegas Raiders***
- Brock Bowers
- Don’t look now but Brock Bowers is all of a sudden on pace for 125+ targets. And Davante Adams is officially gone so there’s nothing looming. The question now is whether Jakobi Meyers can get healthy and also establish himself as a reliable fantasy option. I don’t have as much faith in Tre Tucker or DJ Turner, but they are on the deep league radar.
Los Angeles Rams
- Cooper Kupp
- Cooper Kupp is expected to return this week in some capacity. And even a partial Cooper Kupp is still better than what they have had. And honestly, it’s better than a lot of options out there across the league. The game now is estimating when Puka Nacua will return and which WR can maintain their role in three WR sets when that happens. We are rooting for Tutu Atwell and Jordan Whittington over Demarcus Robinson but it was his job before. Colby Parkinson has the second highest route participation of any TE, so he remains on the streaming radar.
Minnesota Vikings
- Justin Jefferson
- Jordan Addison is a startable player right now, but we still are waiting on T.J. Hockenson and what that looks like. Justin Jefferson will always be a stud, but Jordan Addison and T.J. Hockenson could dilute the targets after him. It worked with Kirk Cousins going full gunslinger mode but I’m not sure if Sam Darnold has that kind of tempo.
Pittsburgh Steelers
- George Pickens
- George Pickens has 42 targets; next highest player is Pat Freiermuth with 25. We’re hoping a QB change to Russell Wilson comes along and boosts up both the volume and quality of the targets moving forward. But it has yet to be formally announced. We’d also like to see rookie Roman Wilson play a bit more given how inefficient Calvin Austin and Van Jefferson have been.
Washington Commanders
- Terry McLaurin
- Terry is the clear top dog. After him, Noah Brown has started to emerge as a potential WR2 as he’s been leading in snaps when healthy. Zach Ertz continues to get targets but he really doesn’t have much elusiveness at this stage so you can’t really count on YAC.
Too Many Mouths To Feed?
Green Bay Packers
- Jayden Reed
- Romeo Doubs
- Christian Watson
- Tucker Kraft
- Josh Jacobs
- Emmanuel Wilson
- Dontayvion Wicks (OUT)
- Luke Musgrave (OUT)
- This is how loaded the Packers depth chart is. They’ve essentially been missing a wide receiver the entire year. And Luke Musgrave is also on IR. Yet still, no player is on pace for 100+ targets. They literally had to suspend Romeo Doubs for a game for complaining that there were too many mouths to feed. They still have a full starting group of WRs, RBs, and TEs so we’ll need even MORE injuries to get consolidation.
Seattle Seahawks
- DK Metcalf
- Jaxon Smith-Njigba
- Tyler Lockett
- Noah Fant
- Kenneth Walker
- So far Seattle has done a good job of getting everyone decent looks - all three of DK Metcalf (54), Jaxon Smith-Njigba (48), and Tyler Lockett (37) are on pace for over 100 targets. We always talk about how hard it is to keep that up but it’s not impossible as we have seen it done a few times in the past. Gamescripts like the Lions game certainly help with that, so we just need the shootouts to continue.
Wide Open
Cleveland Browns***
- Here we go. The Browns have traded their one stud away and have now entered the land of uncertainty. Jerry Jeudy is obviously the front runner and is clinging to a 100-target pace. We’ll always root for the tight end so we’re hoping David Njoku can step up as a focal point. We expect a lot of two TE sets here but Cedric Tillman could see more work alongside Jeudy and the fairly inefficient Elijah Moore.
Los Angeles Chargers
- Ladd McConkey is technically on pace for 100+ targets and he’s clearly the guy you go with if you go with any of these players. But is he a must start fantasy option at this point? Not quite. One more performance with 6+ targets and I think we’re ready to move him up, but he has only cracked 50 yards on one occasion so far. Quentin Johnston is te only other player on the team with more than 14 targets.
New England Patriots
- It’s a whole new world with Drake Maye out there. And we don’t know for sure how things will shake out. Did Kayshon Boutte play so much because he’s been practicing with Maye? And now that Maye is working with the ones he goes back in the bottle? Or does he deserve more work? Is Demario Douglas the guy? Can Hunter Henry step up? This week will be telling.
Tennessee Titans
- We previously had Calvin Ridley listed as the “one stud” but he now has had 1 catch, 1 catch, and zero catches in his last three games. Yikes. Will Levis needs to step it up here if we are going to consider any of these guys in fantasy football moving forward. There have been rumors about a potential DeAndre Hopkins trade swirling around so keep an eye out.
