2024 Player Outlook

There was some concern for Breece Hall coming off a torn ACL that he suffered late in 2022 but Hall recovered beautifully as he finished as the RB2 in PPR in 2023. A big part of that was his league-leading 30 RB screens which helped him lead all RBs in overall targets with 95. In both of the previous two seasons, Aaron Jones actually led the league in RB screens so we expect a lot more of the same from Aaron Rodgers and Nathaniel Hackett. There are arguments to be made for Hall as high as RB1 overall in any sort of PPR format but we can also understand if folks prefer Christian McCaffrey or Bijan Robinson. Feels like you can't really go wrong at the very top.

Player News

Jets coach Aaron Glenn said Breece Hall is “in a good place” but “we have three running backs on this team that we’re going to utilize as much as possible.”

Not exactly re-assuring news for Hall in re-draft leagues this year. The Lions, of course, managed to create fantasy value for both David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs. But it is much harder to reliably project a back for fantasy points if they don’t get a full slate of touches. It sounds like both Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis could be factors in the Jets backfield. Hall is entering the final year of his rookie deal and the way Glenn presents this, it sounds more like he’s the head of a committee than a true three-down back this year.

The Athletic’s Zack Rosenblatt believes it is “unlikely” that the Jets will pursue an early extension with Breece Hall.

Hall is entering the final year of his rookie contract and is coming off arguably his worst season, finishing with an injury-plagued 876/5 rushing line on 209 carries. It would be a contrarian stance to sign Hall early, but you could see the logic behind it if the Jets thought they were buying low on the massive upside that catapulted Hall up fantasy draft boards last season. Rosenblatt points to Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis being signed through 2027 as reason for the Jets to not feel pressured to re-sign Hall. It could bite them if Hall has a breakout 2026.

Breece Hall rushed 12 times for 57 yards in the Jets’ Week 18 win over the Dolphins, adding three receptions for 15 additional yards and one touchdown.

Hall would have had a chance at his first 1,000-yard rushing season had he not missed Week 14’s game against the Dolphins. Still, the third-year back turned out 0000 yards from scrimmage while averaging over five yards per touch for the second straight season. Hall continued to operate as the Jets’ bell cow back in 2024. He only surpassed 100 rushing yards once on the season, but had four games in which he totaled 100-plus yards from scrimmage while finding the end zone seven times. Rookies Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis didn’t show anything that would suggest they’ll be taking touches from Hall next season, which will put him on the fantasy radar as a high-end RB1, yet again.

Breece Hall rushed 10 times for 45 yards in New York’s Week 17 loss to the Bills, adding a catch for eight yards on his only target.

Hall largely looked fine, ripping off a 17-yard run at one point, but the Jets remained committed to sharing his workload with Braelon Allen. Hall had 31 snaps to Allen’s 19. He’ll look to finish up a largely disappointing season against the Dolphins in Week 18. Hall will be a borderline RB2 option if called upon.
