The Giants added $3 million in incentives to DT Dexter Lawrence’s 2025 salary.

Lawrence has a $15.5 million base salary, plus a $500,000 workout bonus this season. The star defensive tackle totaled a career-high 10 sacks last year despite suffering a season-ending elbow injury in Week 13. Lawrence sat out during the offseason workout program, rehabbing the injury. He participated in team drills at the Giants’ first training camp practice though. He’s good to go.

Orioles signed first-round pick OF Slater de Brun.

Andy Kostka of the Baltimore Banner reports that the signing bonus is $4 million, which is significantly higher than the $2.63 million allocated to the 37th pick. The 18-year-old has speed that grades close to the top of the scales, and he’s viewed as a hitter who has a chance to hit for a high average from the left side while playing quality defense. There’s some power questions, but as a player who doesn’t turn 19 until next June, there’s time for that to develop.

Dolphins signed CB Cornell Armstrong, formerly of the Raiders, to a one-year contract.

Armstrong signed a reserve/future contract with the Raiders last offseason. He was cut at the end of training camp. His most recent snaps came in Atlanta in 2023. Armsrong, originally a sixth-round pick for Miami in 2019, now returns home to help backfill the snaps vacated by Artie Burns’ season-ending knee injury.

HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto reports Pacers agreed to a two-way contract with Taelon Peter.

Indiana drafted Peter with the 54th pick out of Liberty, and he averaged 9.5 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists and one triple per game during summer league. He’ll likely spend most of next season in the G League, though they could give him a large role late in the year if things get out of hand with Tyrese Haliburton (Achilles) likely out for the year.

Falcons placed LB Troy Andersen (knee) on the active/PUP list.

Andersen went down with the knee injury early in the 2024 season and spent five weeks on injured reserve. He returned late in the year, only to re-aggravate the issue and close the season with a second stint on injured reserve. The Falcons signed linebacker Divine Deablo to a two-year deal in the offseason. With Andersen still recovering, Deablo is all but locked into a starting role for Week 1.

Falcons staff writer Will McFadden reports Kyle Pitts “has mostly been working with the Falcons wide receivers so far in practice.”

McFadden noted that Pitts moved around the formation “as he often does” during the team periods of practice. It’s still notable that the Falcons might be giving him an extended look as a wideout, even on the first day of camp. Pitts entered the league as a tight end who was too fast for linebackers and too big for corners. He’s ultimately been too slow to beat defenders with his size and too cumbersome to shake defenders with his speed. A role that focuses on boundary targets may be for the best, even if it hurts Pitts’ ceiling as a tight end.
