2024 Player Outlook

Jordan Addison started his rookie year as the odd man out behind Justin Jefferson and KJ Osborn in terms of snaps. He was forced into a full-time role in Week 6 when Justin Jefferson got hurt. When JJ returned, the Vikings kept Addison in a full-time role and Osborn became the odd man out. It would be wheels up with Osborn now in New England and TJ Hockenson coming off injury but they lost QB Kirk Cousins in free agency. Now we also need to bet that either Sam Darnold or JJ McCarthy can step up.

Addison was charged with a DUI in July 2024. He did not face suspension in the 2024 season, but it is possible he will face some sort of consequence in 2025. Addison filed for a continuance and now has a pretrial hearing scheduled for March 12. The pending outcome of his case will lead to a decision on the NFL’s part on whether or not the league suspends Addison.

Jordan Addison caught 3-of-8 targets for 29 yards in the Vikings’ Wildcard loss to the Rams.

Addison failed to come down with multiple deep passes in single coverage, most of which came with the game well out of hand in the second half. The second-year receiver failed to match his gaudy stats from a season ago after a breakout 2023 campaign, finishing his 2024 season with 63 catches for 875 yards and nine touchdowns. Most notably, Addison managed just four receptions on 15 targets in his final two appearances against the Lions and Rams, coinciding with poor quarterback play from Sam Darnold to end the season. Either way, Addison is likely to remain an integral part of the offense moving forward only two years into his rookie contract.

Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn put the clamps on the entire Minnesota offense, holding them to just 262 yards of total offense. Alpha wide receiver Justin Jefferson was notably erased from the game by Amik Robertson, who held Jefferson to zero second half receptions. Addison’s only reception came on a screen for no gain in the first half in a then-tight contest. Addison and the Vikings now prepare for a road matchup with the Rams in Wildcard Weekend next week.
