2024 Player Outlook
Offensive coordinator Shane Waldon has been notorious for rotating his tight ends going back to his time as the Rams tight end coach in 2017. In fact, he's never had a tight end play more than 75% of the snaps from then until now. So Parkinson was stuck in the tight end rotation along with Noah Fant and Will Dissly. This year, Parkinson escapes to join the Los Angeles Rams, who haven't been afraid to let their starting tight end play big snap shares. With Tyler Higbee coming off a serious knee injury, it may be Parkinson vs. the young Davis Allen battling for that starting job early on. That role could have backend TE1 upside as we have seen from Higbee and, if one of Cooper Kupp or Puka Nacua goes down, now the upside is a little more interesting.

Colby Parkinson caught his only target for 11 yards in the Rams’ Week 14 win over the Bills.
Parkinson hasn’t seen more than two targets in a game since October 6th against the Packers. He should not be on any fantasy rosters with the Rams’ wide receivers healthy.

Parkinson’s fantasy value has dwindled in the weeks since Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua have both been on the field healthy. The Rams utilize their wideouts first and foremost, and on a low passing-volume day, that led to one target for Parkinson. With Tyler Higbee’s return on the horizon, Parkinson has shifted off fantasy radars.

Parkinson has been a complete afterthought in the offense in the second half of the 2024 season, playing fewer offensive snaps than Davis Allen during the previous four games. What little fantasy value remaining has gone with the wind for the veteran tight end in Los Angeles.

Parkinson drew a short target in the third quarter, but Seahawks corner Tariq Woolen committed an illegal contact penalty, negating the play entirely. Fellow LA tight ends Hunter Long and Davis Allen each caught one pass. With Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp mostly healthy, Parkinson’s role in the Rams’ offense has vanished. Fantasy managers can cut ties with him ahead of Week 10.
