2024 Player Outlook

Rookie tight end prospect Theo Johnson is an absolute specimen - out of the last 1,000+ tight ends in the Relative Athletic Score (RAS) system, he ranks within the top 10 based on his size/speed. Now that Darren Waller has retired, he'll do battle with Daniel Bellinger for tight end snaps in the Giants offense. Last year Bellinger blocked on more than 20% of his pass plays but we could see his role revert back to a true starting tight end. The upside for Theo Johnson however is simply more exciting.

Johnson was expected to compete for the starting tight end job after being selected in the fourth round of this year’s draft. Now, he lands on the physically unable to perform list at the start of camp with a hip injury. With Darren Waller’s retirement, Daniel Bellinger is now in line to start. The hope is Johnson’s injury is not serious but he will be out to start camp practices.
