2024 Player Outlook
Injuries to the starters in 2024 created opportunity for Dontayvion Wicks and he made the most of that with 582 yards and four touchdowns despite only four starts. When you look at the underlying metrics, Wicks was an analytical darling with a 1.94 yards per route run and a 55% separation rate against man coverage which led all WRs, per PFF. The question is whether he did enough to surpass either Christian Watson or Romeo Doubs for a starting WR job on the outside or whether he will remain the "next man up" that rotates in.

Dontayvion Wicks caught 2-of-6 targets for 39 yards in Green Bay’s Wild Card Round loss to the Eagles.
Wicks also drew a 24-yard pass interference penalty in the third quarter, but was most notably the receiver targeted on Jordan Love’s first interception. Darius Slay did a better job of running Wicks’ route than Wicks did. Wicks finished the year third amongst Packers receivers in snaps, but mainly owes that to the fact that Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson dealt with injuries or maladies that forced a healthy Wicks into the lineup. After exploding on to the scene in Week 4 with a 5/78/2 line on 13 targets, Wicks did not go over 49 yards again for the rest of the season and peaked at seven targets. He likely starts the 2025 offseason, the third year on his four-year rookie deal, as a starter for the Packers due to Watson’s ACL injury. But nothing we’ve seen from Wicks so far would lead us to believe the Packers have developed a star-in-the-making, and if the Packers target a receiver in the draft to be a long-term Romeo Doubs replacement, that receiver would likely come for Wicks’ snaps first. It’s makes for a precarious standing entering the offseason for Wicks, but there’s a possibility we’ll be touting him as a sleeper pick in August if Green Bay runs it back as constructed.
Dontayvion Wicks caught 5-of-6 targets for 49 yards in the Packers’ Week 18 loss to the Bears.
With Romeo Doubs (illness) out and Christian Watson suffering a new knee injury, Wicks matched his season high for receptions. His 49 yards also tied for his second most. Doubs will be back against the Eagles in the Wild Card Round, but Watson is probably doubtful. Wicks could be needed for some big plays as the Pack look to go on another postseason underdog run.
Dontayvion Wicks caught 4-of-5 targets for 43 yards in the Packers’ Week 17 loss to the Vikings.
Dontayvion Wicks caught 3-of-7 targets for 13 yards and a touchdown in the Packers’ Week 16 win over the Saints.
The entire pass offense saw minimal volume after the Packers took a commanding 21-0 lead into the break, eventually ending the game with the first shutout of the 2024 season by any team. Wicks could find himself back in the starting lineup when the Packers take on the division rival Vikings in Week 17, pending the health of fellow wide receiver Christian Watson.
