2024 Player Outlook
If you looked up "reliable WR3" in the dictionary, Demarcus Robinson's picture might be used as an example. In eight NFL seasons, Robinson has not once cracked 500 yards receiving. But he can play on the outside and block well in the run game so teams continue to employ his services. The Rams kept him on a one year, $4 million deal so we can expect him to do his job once again in 2024. And, if something happens to Cooper Kupp or Puka Nacua, perhaps he has a stretch of fantasy relevant games, as can happen from time to time with Robinson.

49ers GM John Lynch said the team knew that Demarcus Robinson could draw a suspension for his DUI arrest when they signed him.
The Rams considered an in-house suspension for Robinson after his DUI arrest in November, but ultimately decided to let him play. The Athletic’s Matt Barrows believes Robinson could be suspended for the first three games of the season, with Lynch saying “there’s an opportunity that he may miss some time.” With Brandon Aiyuk also expected to be taking the slow road back from ACL surgery, it’s possible that Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall could have huge early workloads for the 49ers in 2025.
49ers signed WR Demarcus Robinson, formerly of the Rams, to a two-year, $9.5 million contract.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, $6 million of the $9.5 is guaranteed. The 30-year-old wideout joins the 49ers from division-rival Los Angeles, and he’s coming off a season where he picked up 505 yards and seven touchdowns on 31 catches for the Rams in 2024. He’ll likely be the third wideout for the 49ers to open the season, and while he could be a weapon utilized in the red zone, his target share isn’t likely enough to make him a consistent fantasy option next season.
Demarcus Robinson caught 3-of-7 targets for 74 yards in the Rams’ Divisional Round loss to the Eagles.
Robinson popped up for the Rams in Sunday’s loss to the Eagles in a way he’s done so many times for them over the last two years. Including the playoffs, Robinson surpassed 40 yards in six games this season while also finding paydirt seven times in the regular season. The speedster remains a pivotal role player in Sean McVay’s system, but will need to be re-signed in the offseason if the Rams hope to run it back with him for a third-straight year. Robinson will be 30 at the start of next season and won’t draw any interest for a starting role. A return to the Rams would likely yield more playing time for Robinson than going elsewhere and learning a new system.
Demarcus Robinson caught 1-of-2 targets for 23 yards in the Rams’ Wildcard win over the Vikings.
Robinson’s two targets came in a game in which quarterback Matthew Stafford attempted just 27 passes due to extremely positive game script. The Los Angeles defense completely took over this game, sacking Sam Darnold nine times with one interception and a fumble recovery for a touchdown. Robinson remains entrenched as the WR3 for a Rams team that could be forced into increased volume in the Divisional Round against the Eagles.
