2023 Fantasy Football WR/CB Matchup Report Week 3

WR CB Matchup Report

Left WR vs Right CB
Wide ReceiverTeamDK / FD $CornerbackOppMatchup
Marquise BrownARI$4900 / $6200Trevon DiggsDALRisky
Brown had a nice game last week with 6 catches on 10 targets and a touchdown, but he gets a much tougher matchup this week against Trevon Diggs. He may get some garbage time PPR points playing from behind, but it is probably best to look away from Arizona's passing game against Dallas in DFS this week.
Drake LondonATL$5000 / $6500Jerry JacobsDETModerate
Coming off a game where London was productive against Jaire Alexander, he comes into a plus matchup against Jerry Jacobs in Detroit. London caught 6 passes on 7 targets and found the endzone last week, and Atlanta could be playing from behind in this game, forcing more passing than Atlanta would like. That said, we have seen Arthur Smith continue to run the ball even when playing from behind so the uncertainty in the playcalling alone keeps London as a moderate play, even in a plus matchup.
Zay FlowersBAL$5400 / $6300Dallis FlowersINDSafe
Flowers vs. Flowers in this matchup and Zay has the upper hand. The rookie playmaker has 13 catches on 15 targets in his first 2 games but has yet to score. With Baltimore drawing plays up for him and Odell Beckham bothered by an ankle injury, this should be the week Flowers finds the endzone for is first NFL touchdown.
Stefon DiggsBUF$8100 / $8000Emmanuel ForbesWASSafe
Washington has been playing well on the defensive side of the ball, but this is still a good matchup for one of the best receivers in the league. They did just give up 33 points to Denver so Buffalo should be able to score as well. Diggs matches up against Forbes who has given up 6 catches for 125 yards in his coverage so far this season, so he gives up some big plays. He is yet to give up a touchdown, and Diggs has yet to score one this year, but both of those are likely to change this week.
DJ Chark Jr.CAR$3800 / $5600Tariq WoolenSEARisky
Chark returned from injury to make his debut last week and had one single target that he caught for a 15-yard reception. This Carolina offense is fugly and is a stay-away.
DJ MooreCHI$5700 / $6400Joshua WilliamsKCModerate
We expected big things from the Justin Fields, DJ Moore combo this year but it's off to a rocky start. Fields even said in a press conference that he is playing too robotic and wants to get back to using his playmaking ability. The offense should open up a bit this week and if Fields improves, it will benefit his number one target in Moore. The Kansas City Defense is improved, but Moore has an advantage over the 2nd year corner Joshua Williams out of Fayetteville State. Until we see them click it's not safe, but Moore is playable this week at a mid-range salary with his potential upside.
Ja'Marr ChaseCIN$8000 / $7800Derion KendrickLARSafe
Ja'Marr Chase wants the ball and the squeaky wheel gets the grease. The problem is that Joe Burrow is dealing with a re-aggravation of the calf injury from the preseason and he may miss this game. That would leave Jake Browning to start if Burrow can't go and that's a downgrade for Chase. If it is Browning out there, you still start Chase in season long but you should look in a different direction for a pay-up option in your DFS lineups.
Amari CooperCLE$5700 / $6200Kristian FultonTENSafe
Like I mentioned in last week's article, it is hard to run on Tennessee so you need to beat them through the air. After losing Nick Chubb last week, Deshaun Watson may be asked to pass more which means more targets for Amari Cooper who leads the team in targets and receptions.
Michael GallupDAL$3700 / $5300Marco WilsonARIRisky
Brandin Cooks returned to practice and expects to be back on the field this week which knocks Gallup further down the pecking order. Even without Cooks last week he only caught 1 pass for 3 years so he's not a guy we are interested in starting and may eventually lose his job to Jalen Tolbert.
Courtland SuttonDEN$5100 / $6300Eli AppleMIASafe
Even with the return of Jerry Jeudy last week, Sutton still led the Broncos in targets, route percentage, and snap percentage. In a game against a Miami team that puts up points, Denver will likely have to pass a lot to keep pace and Sutton will benefit from that. With a 20.7% target share on the season, another solid volume game looks to be in the cards for Sutton again this week.
Marvin JonesDET$3200 / $5700Jeff OkudahATLRisky
Simply put, Jones had as many targets last week as Jameson Williams who is still suspended. He had a 59.5% route percentage and still didn't get a single target. With Falcons corner Jeff Okudah looking like he is coming off injury this week also, Jones is a hard no for me.
Romeo DoubsGB$4800 / $5900Marshon LattimoreNORisky
We still don't know if Christian Waston is going to return this week, but if he doesn't, this is a terrible matchup for Doubs. Marshon Lattimore is the #1 rated corner out of 98 graded corners on Pro Football Focus and gives opposing receivers fits. As good as Doubs is, it's a risky matchup this week for him.
Nico CollinsHOU$5300 / $6900Darious WilliamsJACModerate
Who would have thought that Nico Collins would have 20 targets and over 200 yards receiving after 2 weeks of the season? While Darius Williams is a good corner, he has allowed a 72.7% reception percentage and 106 yards in his coverage. With Houston likely playing from behind, the passing game should once again be voluminous, making Collins a good play once again with his role in the offense.
Alec PierceIND$3400 / $5200Brandon StephensBALRisky
Colts Quarterback Anthony Richardson is still in the concussion protocol so we still don't know if it will be him or Gardner Minshew under center. With the uncertainty at quarterback and the fact that Pierce has only seen 5 targets so far, he's a risky choice this week.
Calvin RidleyJAC$7200 / $7500Steven NelsonHOUModerate
After a blowup debut in week 1, Ridley was disappointing last week with only 2 receptions. He did still see 8 targets which was second on the team and he was out there for 78.8% of the offensive snaps. Steven Nelson is a good cover corner and Houston's secondary as a whole is much improved so a tough matchup brings Ridley from a safe play to a moderate one even with the good target share.
Kadarius ToneyKC$4600 / $5500Tyrique StevensonCHIRisky
I just can't do it. The playmaking potential Toney brings always makes him intriguing, but the usage is just too risky. Last week he only played a 28.4% snap percentage whereas you had Justin Watson and Skyy Moore with 49.3% and 58.2% respectively. Even with the limited usage, Toney still led all receivers with 5 receptions on 5 targets. Toney is as boom or bust as it gets which makes him a risky play. Are you feelin' lucky?
Davante AdamsLV$7800 / $7900Levi WallacePITSafe
In back-to-back weeks Adams has a 100% route percentage and has a nearly 35% target share. He is the clear focal point of this offense and Jimmy Garoppolo loves having him as a go-to target. Levi Wallace is the lowest-graded corner on the Vegas defense and has allowed 8 catches in his coverage this season and 12.3 yards per reception. It's a great matchup for Adams and he looks to be one of the safest plays of the week.
Mike WilliamsLAC$6000 / $7200Akayleb EvansMINSafe
Speaking of a great matchup, the Minnesota secondary is brutal. Evans in particular has allowed 12.5 yards per reception and got torched by Mike Evans on a touchdown in week 1. Mike Williams has 18 targets and 128 receiving yards through 2 games and the Chargers passing offense looks to be clicking under Kellen Moore. In a plus matchup against a bad secondary, the receivers should feast once again this week.
Tutu AtwellLAR$5200 / $5700Chidobe AwuzieCINModerate
Rams receivers have been moving around a lot and are racking up catches on short routes. Last week, Atwell ran 37% from the left side which was the highest percentage of all the receivers but he also ran 43% from the slot. Awuzie who plays right corner and Mike HIlton who plays slot have combined to allow 9 catches on 11 targets in their coverage so Tutu should continue to catch balls against them regardless of where he lines up. He has a 94.9% route percentage and he will continue to see Matthew Stafford targets this week.
Tyreek HillMIA$9000 / $9600Pat Surtain IIDENSafe
Get your popcorn ready! This is the matchup I am most looking forward to seeing this week as I believe that Surtain will move around and could shadow Hill in this game. Hill has been great so far with 16 catches for 255 yards and 3 touchdowns but will face his toughest test this week in Surtain. Hill is always a must-start in season long, but he is super expensive in DFS so I wouldn't pay up this week with the possibility of the Surtain shadow. Spoiler alert: the matchup for Waddle on the other side is the way to go! More on that later...
Justin JeffersonMIN$9300 / $9700Asante Samuel Jr.LACSafe
This game has the makings of a shootout with the Minnesota defense likely to get carved up by the Chargers offense, so the Vikings will have to throw and score to keep up. Jefferson has racked up some nice totals thus far averaging 10 catches and over 150 yards per game. His 99.2 snap percentage and 100% route percentage show he's always out there running routes and while Samuel is a talented corner, he has allowed an 85.7% catch rate in his coverage so this is a safe and positive matchup for Jefferson with the projected gamescript.
DeVante ParkerNE$3800 / $5400D.J. ReedNYJRisky
Parker made his season debut last week and immediately led the team in receiving yards and had the most catches among the wide receivers. This week he is going up against a fierce Jets secondary in what should be a very low-scoring game. Although the volume is there and the price is low, I'll pass.
Michael ThomasNO$5300 / $5800Jaire AlexanderGBModerate
Thomas has seen at least 8 targets each game so far and looks healthy. Jaire Alexander is one of the best corners in the league, but Drake London did find some success against him last week. Volume alone as the #2 target in a heavy passing offense makes Thomas playable as long as he's on the field, but the matchup against Alexander brings him down a notch this week.
Isaiah HodginsNYG$4800 / $6300Ambry ThomasSFModerate
Hodgins is my favorite option this week if you are using a Giants pass catcher. With Saquon Barkley unlikely to play and likely playing from behind, the Giants are going to need to pass. Last week the Rams used quick, short passes to move the ball against the 49ers so if the Giants take a page from that book I believe it will be Hodgins, running on the opposite side of Charvarius Ward's coverage, will see plenty of targets this week.
Garrett WilsonNYJ$6800 / $7200Christian GonzalezNEModerate
This will be back-to-back weeks with a huge matchup for rookie first round corner Christian Gonzalez. Gonzalez played great against Tyreek Hill last week and will now match up with Garrett Wilson. With Zach Wilson under center, Bill Belichick likely scheming to shut down Wilson, and a tough and hungry corner across from him, Wilson gets a downgrade this week and is a borderline play.
A.J. BrownPHI$7700 / $7500Zyon McCollumTBSafe
This is one of my favorite matchups of the week. Buccaneers top corner Carlton Davis is still not practicing and is likely to miss this week which leaves 2nd year corner Zyon McCollum against A.J. Brown. Brown only has 108 yards on the season and hasn't scored yet, but his yardage total may double this week and I will make a bold prediction and GUARANTEE he gets his first touchdown this week. He could be a slate breaker this week so get him in your lineups.
Calvin AustinPIT$3400 / $5000Jakorian BennettLVRisky
I don't feel safe with any part of the Steelers offense right now. The play calling is shotty, the line has been bad and Pickett has been struggling. Until we see improvements, Pickens is the only Steeler you could feel somewhat comfortable playing.
Brandon AiyukSF$6000 / $7700Deonte BanksNYGRisky
Aiyuk is a risky play this week but it has nothing to do with his play or the corner opposite him. Aiyuk is banged up with a shoulder injury and may not even play. If he does play, they will likely limit his involvement in a game that should be in hand for San Francisco early.
DK MetcalfSEA$6900 / $7400CJ HendersonCARSafe
CJ Henderson is a good corner but he has struggled a bit to start this season. He has allowed an 85.7% catch rate in his coverage and 17 yards per reception. Metcalf is coming off a week where he caught all 6 passes thrown his way and a matchup against a struggling Carolina team is a good spot to build off the big overtime win last week for Seattle.
Mike EvansTB$6600 / $8000Darius SlayPHIModerate
Evans has been great so far with 12 catches for 237 yards and 2 touchdowns, but he gets a very tough matchup this week against Darius Slay. As great as he's been, the matchup Makes Evans far more risky this week and I will be looking elsewhere in this game for production.
DeAndre HopkinsTEN$6300 / $6600Denzel WardCLEModerate
Hopkins was questionable last week with an ankle injury but ended up playing. He only had 4 catches for 40 yards and this week he could see a shadow from Denzel Ward. If he was a little cheaper he could be playable in DFS as the main target in the offense, but with the possible shadow and low passing volume, he is not a great play at his DFS salary this week.
Terry McLaurinWAS$5600 / $7100Tre'Davious WhiteBUFRisky
It's been a tough stretch of matchups for McLaurin and he draws another challenging assignment this week with Tre'Davious White. He was still able to find the endzone against Surtain last week so he could still be productive but it won't be easy. He is priced much higher on FD but is reasonably priced on DK so you could play him there at a value.

Right WR vs Left CB
Wide ReceiverTeamDraftKings/FanDuelCornerbackOppMatchup
Michael WilsonARI$3400 / $4800Stephon GilmoreDALRisky
Arizona is quite possibly the worst team in football with a quarterback who really should be a backup. Dallas has arguably the best cornerback duo in the league and a ferocious defense. Starting Arizona wide receivers this week is as risky as it gets.
Mack HollinsATL$3500 / $5500Cameron SuttonDETRisky
Sutton is the better of the two Detroit outside corners and while Hollins did get 6 targets last week, there just isn't enough passing volume in Atlanta to feel good about playing him. Even if they are playing from behind and are forced to throw more, London and Pitts should benefit more than Hollins.
Odell BeckhamBAL$4500 / $5300Darrell Baker Jr.INDModerate
Beckham is dealing with an ankle injury and still wasn't practicing as of Wednesday. If he does play he could struggle to get separation so I'd be looking more at Zay Flowers and Mark Andrews in this one.
Gabe DavisBUF$5800 / $6700Kendall FullerWASRisky
The Buffalo offense got back on track last week and Davis was heavily involved with 6 catches on 7 targets for 92 yards and a touchdown. He gets a much tougher matchup this week against Fuller who has only allowed 4 catches for 27 yards in his coverage so far this season. He should catch a couple of passes but the upside just isn't there this week.
Jonathan MingoCAR$3400 / $5100Devon WitherspoonSEARisky
He saw 9 targets last week and they are trying to force-feed him the ball but he only caught 3 of those targets from a struggling Bryce Young. This offense is in disaster and until they get it together Mingo will be a risky play along with the rest of the offense.
Chase ClaypoolCHI$3400 / $5500L'Jarius SneedKCRisky
We did see more effort from Claypool last week and it resulted in 8 targets. Grant it, he only caught 3 of them but one was a touchdown to save his day. This week he will get a tougher matchup so he is a risky play with a struggling Bears offense.
Tee HigginsCIN$6700 / $7400Ahkello WitherspoonLARModerate
We saw a great bounce back from the week 1 goose egg from Higgins last week. He was targeted 12 times, had a 30.8% target percentage, and caught 8 passes with 2 of them being touchdowns. It's a good matchup this week as well, but with Joe Burrow questionable to play and Ja'Marr Chase vocally demanding more targets, Higgins is bumped down to moderate this week.
Donovan Peoples-JonesCLE$4100 / $5900Sean Murphy-BuntingTENRisky
I'd love to target a wide receiver against Sean Murphy-Bunting, but DPJ just isn't doing anything out there. He only has 2 catches for 19 yards so until we see him get more involved in the offense he is a risky start.
Brandin CooksDAL$5200 / $6000Kei'Trel ClarkARIModerate
Cooks is back at practice after missing last week and should step right back in as the number 2 target for Dak Prescott. Clark has allowed 8 catches in his coverage for 110 yards so the veteran Cooks should be able to get open and make a few plays this week for an offense that looks to be making a statement.
Brandon JohnsonDEN$3300 / $5300Xavien HowardMIARisky
This spot could be a rotation of Johnson and Marvin Mims, but against Xavien Howard both players are risky. The 2 of them accounted for 3 touchdowns last week, but being in a timeshare limits their volume which limits them being out there to make plays. With both of them having under 50% snap percentage and facing a tough corner they are risky dart throws this week.
Josh ReynoldsDET$4200 / $7000A.J. TerrellATLModerate
Reynolds is grabbing hold of his opportunity in a thin wide receiver room and really stepped up last week with a multi-touchdown performance. He is the clear second target in this passing game and has nearly 150 yards through 2 games. The volume should continue for Reynolds and his price is low enough on DK to be a good value play as a sexy flexie.
Dontayvion WicksGB$3300 / $4900Paulson AdeboNORisky
Christian Watson still isn't practicing as of Wednesday so keep an eye on that situation. If he misses another game, it will be the Wicks/Samori Toure rotation that played a 52% and 46% snap share last week respectively. Against a New Orleans defense that is playing well, the targets and the matchup both aren't there for these guys this week.
Tank DellHOU$3600 / $5400Tyson CampbellJACSafe
We saw Dell step up big time last week and led the team in targets with 10. This game has sneaky shootout potential and C.J. Stroud is throwing early and often. All 3 of the Texans top receivers have 14 or more targets through 2 weeks and the passing volume should once again be there this week. Dell is a great option for a low-salary dart throw DFS play although he could be somewhat chalky this week coming off last week's performance.
Michael PittmanIND$6200 / $6700Ronald DarbyBALModerate
We still don't know if we will see Anthony Richardson clear concussion protocol before this game or if we will see Gardner Minshew under center. What we do know is that whoever is playing quarterback will be looking for Pittman. He has double-digit targets in both games so far and should continue to be peppered in this one regardless of quarterback.
Zay JonesJAC$4500 / $6000Derek StingleyHOURisky
The numbers look good for Zay Jones so far this season with a 76.5% snap percentage and a 17.8% target share. The number that doesn't look good is that he has only been able to reel in 5 receptions on his 13 targets and this week gets a solid corner lined up across from him in Derek Stingley With a tough matchup and too many mouths to feed in Jacksonville, Jones is a risky start this week.
Marquez Valdes-ScantlingKC$4200 / $5400Jaylon JohnsonCHIRisky
So far this season MVS has the highest route percentage on the Chiefs with 80% and the highest snap percentage with 72.7%, but the lowest targets per route run with 6.9%. He only has 5 targets on the season and is once again looking like the captain of the Kevin Tompkins "All Exercise Team". If the quarterback doesn't throw him the ball, he will continue to be a risky play.
Jakobi MeyersLV$5400 / $6600Patrick PetersonPITModerate
Meyers is progressing through the league's concussion protocol and has a chance of suiting up this week. If he does, he will step back into the number 2 target role where he saw 10 targets in week 1. If he is cleared to play, the volume he sees in a very thin wide receiver room makes him a viable play.
Joshua PalmerLAC$3300 / $4900Byron Murphy Jr.MINRisky
We are already starting to see the rookie Quentin Johnston eating away at some of Palmer's snaps and it's only a matter of time before it's Johnston who we're listing here. For now, Palmer is still running a 68.6% route percentage and has a 60.1% snap percentage but has only seen 3 targets. Even against Minnesota, Palmer is tough to trust with so many other weapons around him.
Puka NacuaLAR$6100 / $6900Cam Taylor-BrittCINSafe
As I mentioned earlier, the Rams are moving the receivers around the field. Puka ran 45% from the right side and 30% from the slot last week and saw an unbelievable 20 targets. He caught 15 of them for 147 yards and on the season he has 25 catches and 266 receiving yards. While he won't stay on this pace forever, the Rams certainly have something rolling so ride it out while it's here and play Puka while hes scorching the earth.
Jaylen WaddleMIA$7500 / $7600Damarri MathisDENSafe
Another one of my favorites this week as long as Waddle clears the concussion protocol. Waddle gets a GREAT matchup against a Denver defense that just gave up 35 points to Washington last week. With Surtain likely shadowing Tyreek Hill, it leaves a lot of volume to go to Waddle on the other side against Mathis who is the 98th-rated cornerback out of 98 ranked on Pro Football Focus.
Jordan AddisonMIN$5500 / $6800J.C. JacksonLACModerate
Addison found the endzone for the second consecutive week but only has 7 catches on the season. Playing alongside Justin Jefferson there is always going to be limited volume but as long as Addison keeps taking advantage of the opportunities being given to him he will continue to be a playable fantasy football asset.
Kendrick BourneNE$5100 / $5900Sauce GardnerNYJRisky
I don't care that he leads the Patriots with 20 targets, I'm simply not trusting Bourne to be able to do anything this week against Sauce Gardner.
Rashid ShaheedNO$4200 / $6000Rasul DouglasGBRisky
The burner on the outside for the Saints is making plays when the ball comes his way. he has 9 catches on 10 targets but gets a tough matchup this week against a good Green Bay secondary. The lack of volume and tough matchup makes Shaheed a risky play.
Darius SlaytonNYG$4200 / $5600Charvarius WardSFRisky
The Giants are going to be passing a lot in this one, but Charvarius Ward is not the guy to challenge. Slayton will have the toughest matchup out there so it makes him risky since Daniel Jones should look to avoid throwing in Ward's direction.
Allen LazardNYJ$4700 / $5800Marcus JonesNEModerate
The Patriots defense will likely look to take away Garrett Wilson on the other side so it could mean some increased targets to Lazard in this one. Marcus Jones will move from nickel corner to the outside and at this low salary, Lazard is a pretty decent mid-range option this week for his price.
Devonta SmithPHI$7600 / $7600Jamel DeanTBSafe
Smith will face the best of the Tampa corners if Carlton Davis misses this game so Jalen Hurts may look more in A.J. Brown's direction than Smith's this week. While he may lose a few targets, it is still a plus matchup and he is still playing a 99.3% snap percentage and had a 98.6% route percentage making him always a safe bet to produce when he's on the field.
George PickensPIT$5300 / $6500Marcus PetersLVModerate
With Dionte Johnson being placed on IR, Pickens is the only piece of the Steelers offense that is playable right now in fantasy. Pickens played 55% on the right side last week but does move around a bit. Peters plays over 90% on the left side so there might not be a shadow on Pickens. Even if there is, they will force the ball to him with a lack of other options so the forced volume alone makes Pickens playable.
Deebo SamuelSF$5900 / $7200Tre Hawkins IIINYGSafe
Deebo took back the team leads for targets last week with a nine-target game where he added 5 rushes and scored a rushing touchdown. Teammate Brandon Aiyuk is dealing with an injury and may not play so that could open up more opportunities for Deebo. If Aiyuk doesn't play Deebo becomes a must start and is a safe play even if Aiyuk does play.
Tyler LockettSEA$6400 / $7300Donte JacksonCARSafe
In a bounce-back game, Lockett scored twice last week including the game-winning touchdown in overtime. He was targeted 10 times which was good for a 27% target share. Donte Jackson has the lowest coverage grade of all Carolina defensive backs so the opportunity should be there for Lockett to keep building off a strong game last week.
Trey PalmerTB$3300 / $4900James BradberryPHIRisky
Tampa is going to struggle on the outside this week against the Eagles great outside corners. The rookie Palmer will be overmatched and this is not the week to play him.
Treylon BurksTEN$4300 / $5700Martin Emerson Jr.CLEModerate
If Denzel Ward ends up shadowing Hopkins, it leaves a good path to targets for Burks on the other side. Emerson is a good cover corner, but Tannehill is going to have to throw to somebody and it is basically the Hopkins and Burks show in Tennessee. Take advantage of his super low price in DFS if you need a salary saver and hope he can find the endzone for a nice return on investment.
Jahan DotsonWAS$4900 / $5800Christian BenfordBUFSafe
Dotson is leading the Commanders in targets on the season and gets the better of the WR/CB matchups by drawing Benford while McLaurin deals with White on the other side. If the Buffalo corners stick to their sides, I like the matchup for Dotson a lot, especially coming in at what could end up being his lowest DFS price of the year. That salary is sure to go up as Dotson makes plays and scores touchdowns.

Top 10 Slot WR Matchups for Week 3

Now, here are 10 of my favorite matchups in the slot for Week 3:

Slot WR vs Slot CB
Wide ReceiverTeamDraftKings/FanDuelCornerbackOppMatchup
Chris OlaveNO$7000 / $7800Keisean NixonGBSafe
When you play against Green Bay, the slot is where you attack them. Jaire Alexander will be locked up with Michael Thomas so Olave will continue to lead New Orleans in targets like he has the past two weeks. Through two games, Olave is averaging 99 yards per game and is commanding a 31.3% target share on the season. The best receiver with the best matchup in the game makes Olave a nice play this week.
CeeDee LambDAL$7700 / $8500Jalen ThompsonARISafe
CeeDee Lamb is one of the best receivers in the game and draws Jalen Thompson this week who is allowing a 71% catch percentage so far this year. Lamb is the clear focal point of the Dallas passing game and he and Dak Prescott seem to be clicking on all cylinders. When a play needs to be made, it's Lamb who finds the opening and that is why his season totals are 15 catches on 17 targets for 220 yards. The crazy parts are that he has a dozen more targets than the next-highest-targeted receiver and he also hasn't scored a touchdown yet. That should change this week and Lamb should find the endzone AT LEAST once this week.
Amon-Ra St. BrownDET$7900 / $7900Dee AlfordATLSafe
Amon-Ra has recorded 6 catches in each of the first 2 games and in a plus matchup against Dee Alford, who is known more for his special teams contributions, he should eat this week. Detroit is coming off a letdown loss last week that will have them fired up this week so St. Brown should have a big game in this one. 100+ yards and a touchdown is a reasonable expectation here from one of the best playmakers in the league.
Chris GodwinTB$6200 / $6400Mario GoodrichPHISafe
The surprising 2-0 Buccaneers have a really tough matchup this week against the Eagles. The Philadelphia secondary is a strength, but it is largely because of their strong outside corner duo. Darius Slay and James Bradberry rarely move into the slot though, so Godwin has the best matchup against Mario Goodrich out of the slot. Mike Evans has had the big games for Baker Mayfield so far, but this week should be a big Godwin week. Playing from behind, Godwin should have 10+ targets in this one for a solid volume play in PPR leagues.
Keenan AllenLAC$7600 / $8800Josh MetellusMINSafe
Keenan Allen is coming off a multiple-touchdown game last week against Tennessee. This week, he gets to face a 26th-ranked Minnesota Defense that has allowed 54 points in two weeks. The Chargers lost a close one last week so Justin Herbert will have his foot on the gas all game to get in the win column this week. The Chargers passing offense is starting to heat up and that should continue this week.
Christian KirkJAC$5400 / $6500Grayland ArnoldHOUModerate
After having his fantasy managers in a panic with a 1 catch week 1, Christian Kirk bounced back in week 2 by catching 11 passes on 14 targets and 110 yards last week. He led all Jacksonville receivers with a snap percentage of 81.8% and a route percentage of 86% which was a huge improvement from the 61.4% and 65.7% from the previous week. Hopefully what we saw in week 2 will be closer to the norm and he is still well-priced in DFS after the week 1 dud so he is worth taking a shot on this week.
Jerry JeudyDEN$6500 / $6100Kader KohouMIAModerate
It was a quiet week for Jeudy in his return from injury last week. This week, the matchup is firmly in his favor where the outside receivers will have tougher matchups against Miami. With Denver expected to be trailing and Jeudy another week closer to full strength, it should be a good spot for Russel Wilson to pepper him with targets. His snap percentage should increase from 68% last week when they were easing him back into action and should be more like 80% or more this week to provide more opportunities for Jeudy to rack up fantasy points.
Elijah MooreCLE$4700 / $6100Roger McCrearyTENModerate
Last week we saw Keenan Allen go off against McCreary and the Tennessee secondary to the tune of 111 yards and 2 touchdowns. While Moore hasn't produced much thus far, the usage and targets are there so it's only a matter of time before he makes a splash. He only caught 3 passes last week, but he was targeted 9 times and had 120 air yards to go with an 84% route percentage. In a plus matchup with Deshaun looking to bounce back this week, Moore is a good mid-range price point option for DFS this week.
Jayden ReedGB$3800 / $5900Alontae TaylorNOModerate
Christian Watson is still banged up and may not play again and we already discussed the difficult matchup for Romeo Doubs against Marshon Lattimore this week. That leaves the rookie Jayden Reed once again in a spot to step up. He led the team in targets with 8 last week which was a 32% target share. He had a big fantasy day with 2 touchdowns and is still underpriced in DFS this week. At this price tag, Reed is a great low-cost option on the slate this week.
Adam ThielenCAR$3900 / $5700Coby BryantSEAModerate
The Carolina offense looks like a train wreck so far and rookie quarterback Bryce Young is struggling out of the gate. He is relying on his veteran slot target, Adam Thielen, who had 7 catches on 9 targets and a touchdown last week. Seattle second-year slot corner Coby Bryant has struggled a bit these first couple of weeks so Thielen could use his experience and precise route running to get open and be a safety blanket for Young once again this week. We should really be avoiding the Carolina passing game until they figure things out, but Thielen is a viable play in PPR leagues.
