TMZ reports Kadarius Toney was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, strangulation, and obstructing/harassing 911 calls.
According to TMZ, Toney has been accused of “putting his hand around a woman’s throat during a dispute at a Georgia residence on Jan. 14.” Warrants were put out for his arrest the next day and he was brought in by the police on February 6th. Toney briefly played for the Browns last year but was cut after muffing a punt and being penalized for taunting. His career was already hanging on by a thread before this incident. Needless to say, we have seen the last NFL snap for the former first-round pick.
Browns waived Kadarius Toney.
He muffed a punt in last week’s game that apparently sealed his fate. Toney will probably continue to get back-of-roster chances, but it’s clear the NFL doesn’t think much of him at this point.
Browns WR Kadarius Toney is active for Week 11 against the Saints.
Toney, who signed with the Browns in September, will be active for the first time in 2024 against New Orleans. He could see some usage on special teams as a returner along with a limited number of pass routes in the pass-first Browns offense. He should remain on waiver wires for now.
Browns signed WR Kadarius Toney, formerly of the Chiefs.
Toney also took a visit with the Seahawks but ultimately inked a deal with the Browns ahead of Week 2. It is unclear what kind of workload to expect from Toney in Cleveland considering their current depth chart, with the enigmatic receiver likely entering the kick return discussion as well as unique packages on offense. He can safely remain on the waiver wire in fantasy leagues.
