The final weeks of the 2024 season are now upon us, and fortunately there are a good number of pitchers to plug into your rotations as the fantasy baseball season winds up. This week delivers a boatload of top-tier SPs that offer dual start eligibility, and you will also find a nice batch of middle-tier arms to consider using for their two trips to the hill in Week 25. Fantasy Baseball 2024 Two-Start Pitchers are readily available, although as per usual, there are those hurlers you want to avoid grouped in the bottom-tier.

Instead of looking to poor options for two starts in the bottom group, might we suggest you peruse the Fantasy Baseball 2024 Streaming Pitchers profiled in the second half of this week’s article. Used with discretion, these SPs are more likely to benefit your final efforts to capture a fantasy baseball championship.

Manaea opens our discussion of the Week 25 Fantasy Baseball 2024 Two-Start Pitchers and he has been dealing over the past month, twirling five quality starts (QS) over his last six trips to toe the rubber for the Mets. Exhibiting both dominance and control over those 41.0 IP as evidenced by his 10.1 K/9 and 2.0 BB/9 rates. He has a pair of home starts on tap, although it should be noted for future reference that his work away from Citi Field has been spectacular.

Pivetta continues to offer superior swing and miss production on the mound, coming off a six inning, one run, nine strikeout effort against the visiting Oriole offense. His 10.9 K/9 rate coupled with a superb 2.2 BB/9 walk rate serve him well, and his home/road splits are about even, so having one game to open the week in Florida and wrapping up at home at Fenway Park at the end of the scoring period should not be any issue for plugging him in to take advantage of his dual start situation in Week 25.

Darvish looked much better in his second start since being activated from the IL, picking up a victory over the host Mariners. He gave up only two earned runs, which admittedly were the result of two dingers allowed in the first two frames. He has a pair of home starts on the schedule, the second against the hapless White Sox, and the first opponent, the Astros, are playing .500 ball away from Minute Maid Park.

Suarez has notched four QS among his last six times atop the hill, and returned to his usual dominant self on the mound after an aberrant loss to the visiting Pale Hose who chased him after just 4.1 IP. He generally offers below-average K numbers, except when he is dealing as in his last start where he handed out eight strikeouts to the BoSox offense. He has two home starts on his calendar in Week 25.

Detmers has looked sharp since being recalled from the minor leagues, racking up 18 Ks over 12.0 IP, and collecting two QS in those contests. The 25-year-old southpaw is one of those Fantasy Baseball 2024 Two-Start Pitchers you want to snap up off the wire for your stretch run at the fantasy baseball championship in your league(s), although with his superb return results, if you slept on picking him up your league mates may be the ones reveling in his dual start week (hope that isn’t so).

Estes has notched three quality starts over his last five starts, although one of those efforts was a tough luck loss where he allowed just a single earned run over a 7.2 IP effort. He relies on superior control as his strikeout skills are less than average: 1.8 BB/9, 6.7 K/9. He gets to face the White Sox at home to open the week, and given his home/road splits, that may be the only one of his two starts where you want to trust him in mid-September’s end days of the 2024 fantasy baseball action.

Megill is the penultimate arm in this middle grouping of useful Fantasy Baseball 2024 Two-Start Pitchers this week, and while his dual start status is not exactly guaranteed, if he gets to climb the bump for two appearances as a SP, he offers strong K potential with his 10.5 K/9 rate on the year over his 62.1 IP. He also has the slight advantage of having two home starts (his home/road splits are not tremendously dissimilar).

Kelly was forced to leave his last start after four innings due to hamstring cramping, but is not expected to miss his next turn in the Diamondback rotation. His is relegated to the bottom portion of the middle tier of Fantasy Baseball 2024 Two-Start Pitchers due to the fact that both his Week 25 starts are on the road, and he has not demonstrated road-warrior tendencies this season (or the previous two, for that matter).

None of these Fantasy Baseball 2024 Two-Start Pitchers are among those you should be using for their two-start status, and for that matter should not be considered for a streaming start, either. Although the damage these arms may cause to your ratio stats are minimized as the season has been predominantly been played out, the counting stats are also likely to be minimized due to the last hour of the fantasy baseball campaign. If you can avoid shuffling one of these hurlers into your rotation, you will be better served than being forced to hope for likely unrealized results.

Fantasy Baseball 2024 Streaming Starters

There is no promise that each game day will provide a streaming option. First of all, the pitcher must be available in at least 50% of leagues to be a viable candidate to snag off the wire. Then, the pitchers discussed above are not included as they have a different sort of value, even though some might be available as free agents in your league. Plus, some days the matchups and/or venues just do not figure as positive enough factors to favor plugging the arm into your rotation, even for one start. That all being said, here are this week’s best Fantasy Baseball 2024 Streaming Starters candidates:

Lance Lynn, St. Louis Cardinals vs. Pittsburgh Pirates

The veteran right-hander returned to action after being out with a knee inflammation issue, tossing five one run innings where he collected seven Ks from the visiting Reds. He gets another home start here, taking on the Pirates who are a sub-.500 squad this season.

Mitch Spence, Oakland Athletics at Chicago Cubs

The rookie right-hander has yielded just five earned runs during his last four starts, during his 21.2 IP. His earlier struggles still have his ERA sitting at 4.33, but that stat is trending in the proper direction with his recent success on the bump. His value as a Fantasy Baseball 2024 Streaming Starters would be more tempting were he pitching at the Coliseum rather than on the road.

Dean Kremer, Baltimore Orioles vs. San Francisco Giants

The Oriole righty has thrown five quality starts over his last six outings. That alone makes him a fine candidate to trust as a Fantasy Baseball 2024 Streaming Starter in Week 25. His 8.2 K/9 rate should play well against the host Giants, an offense in the top third of teams in terms of being free-swinging with the bat.

Jose Quintana, New York Mets vs. DJ Herz, Washington Nationals

Our only game where both sides of the starting pitching performance could be useful if you need a streaming starter…or two. The two southpaws have been enjoying success when toeing the rubber for several starts each. Despite pitching on the road, that is not a negative for Herz who has been a better option away from his home park. If you are looking for strikeouts, then Herz’s 11.1 K/9 rate will interest you. Quintana has the advantage here of pitching at home against an opponent that is playing well below .500 away from their home base.

Luis L. Ortiz, Pittsburgh Pirates at St. Louis Cardinals

Ortiz has been one of the volatile Fantasy Baseball 2024 Streaming Starters over the course of the season, racking up the strikeouts then failing to miss many bats, or holding the opposing hitters at bay one game then getting touched for enough taps on the plate to lasso him with a loss. He does sport useful ratio stats: 3.26 ERA and 1.11 WHIP over his 118.2 IP.

Brady Basso, Oakland Athletics at Chicago Cubs

The rookie southpaw has rejoined the A’s and looks to have a rotation spot now that Osvaldo Bido is dealing with a wrist injury. He is coming off a QS against the visiting Tigers in his first start in the majors, where he struck out six over his 6.0 IP. Not the greatest matchup, heading to Wrigley Field, and thus he is the last Fantasy Baseball 2024 Streaming Starters featured for mid-week.

Jakob Junis, Cincinnati Reds vs. Atlanta Braves

The Cincy right-hander has been on point his last two starts, going 5.0 IP in each effort and allowing just one earned run, while collecting eight strikeouts. He currently sports an attractive 2.73 ERA and 0.89 WHIP through 56.0 IP on the season. He has a home matchup here, and has been superb when dealing from the hill in his home park this season. The only real downside to plugging him into your lineup as a Fantasy Baseball 2024 Streaming Starters is the below-average 6.8 K/9 but his excellent control (1.1 BB/9) offsets that issue.

Landon Knack, Los Angeles Dodgers at Miami Marlins

Knack was called up from the minors to bolster the Dodger rotation, with Clayton Kershaw and Gavin Stone both sidelined with injury currently. He acquitted himself well against the Guardians, holding them to just two earned tallies over 6.0 IP in a losing QS effort. The eight Ks were a nice cherry on the sundae for the rookie righty, who has a nice matchup against the Marlins on the schedule.

Frankie Montas, Milwaukee Brewers vs. Philadelphia Phillies

Montas has been an erratic performed this season, although he does have a home contest on the slate in Week 25, which makes his usage as one of your Fantasy Baseball 2024 Streaming Pitchers more palatable. He offers more than acceptable strikeout potential with an 8.2 K/9 over his 132.1 IP to date.

Edward Cabrera, Miami Marlins vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

When he has pitched deep enough into the contest in his last six outings, Cabrera has picked up a QS (three of those, if you are counting). His strikeout production has become somewhat variable of late. He has a less than desirable matchup, but it is at home where his success rate on the hill has been more pronounced.

Samuel Aldegheri, Los Angeles Angels at Houston Astros

Relying upon an Angel hurler to provide Fantasy Baseball 2024 Streaming Starter value is difficult, but the young southpaw has looked good over an admittedly short stretch of two contests consisting of 11.0 IP. He has allowed just three earned tallies while racking up 10 Ks. Currently he offers a 2.45 ERA and 1.27 WHIP, although be prepared for some negative regression based on his peripheral metrics, but those are an admittedly small sample to draw conclusions from, and he could continue to deliver.

Kumar Rocker, Texas Rangers vs. Toronto Blue Jays

The rookie righty had a promising big-league debut, striking out seven and limiting the host Mariners to a single earned run (on a homer), over just 4.0 IP. He will look to expand on his inning count when he takes on the visiting Blue Jay offense at home. He is the type of newcomer to take a chance on as a Fantasy Baseball 2024 Streaming Starter, hoping for lightning in a bottle.

Nick Martinez, Cincinnati Reds vs. Pittsburgh Pirates

We only have one Fantasy Baseball 2024 Streaming Starter to profile on Friday, quite the change from the mid-week contests. Martinez has settled into the Cincy rotation, compiling an attractive 3.12 ERA and 1.08 WHIP over his recent eight start stretch that began at the beginning of August. The 35:8 K/BB ratio over that span of contests is useful, as well.

Rhett Lowder, Cincinnati Reds vs. Pittsburgh Pirates

Another Red arm that is pitching well, albeit over a short span of just three starts. He has allowed just one earned run over his 15.1 IP to date, rolling up a superb 0.59 ERA and useful 1.24 WHIP. The WHIP is elevated due to his propensity to hand out free passes (eight for an ugly 4.7 BB/9), although he did not issue any walks in his last time toeing the rubber against the host Cardinals.

Keider Montero, Detroit Tigers at Baltimore Orioles

The 24-year-old righty tossed a complete game victory over the visiting Rockies. He will face a slightly tougher matchup here against the host Orioles, although the Baltimore team has been scuffling of late on the diamond. This is crunch time for the Tigers, too, who are seeking a post-season berth as the season winds down.

DL Hall, Milwaukee Brewers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

Our final entry this week for Fantasy Baseball 2024 Streaming Starters is a pitcher that is shifting from the bullpen to the starting rotation. He is a fine source of Ks, striking out better than a batter per inning over his limited 33.2 IP this season. He needs to harness his control to be effective, which he has demonstrated over his last three times on the hill. Should he continue to feature command and dominance, he can provide useful SP value over the waning days of the 2024 season.
