The 36-year-old southpaw will make his Brewers’ debut on Friday night in a tough spot against the Diamondbacks in Arizona. Fantasy managers would be advised to take a wait-and-see approach here instead of throwing Quintana to the wolves on Friday night in his first start of the season.

Quintana is scheduled for another simulated game later this week before being eligible to be summoned from the minors on April 11. The 36-year-old lefty will certainly provide a lift for Milwaukee’s battered rotation mix, but his days as a fantasy-relevant option are probably long gone.

Quintana only signed on March 5, so he’ll serve a brief stint in Triple-A to continue to build stamina before joining the Brewers rotation in mid-April.
