Exactly half of the four hits that he surrendered came off the bat of Royals top prospect Jac Caglianone. The 37-year-old future Hall of Fame southpaw remains on track to make his season debut sometime in late May.

Kershaw threw three shutout frames on Wednesday in his rehab debut as he continues to work his way back from offseason surgeries on his toe and knee. Obviously, Kershaw will need to make a few more rehab starts before he’s ready to go — and since he’s on the 60-day injured list he’s not eligible to return until the very end of May — but an encouraging first outing.
