Adam Oller has signed with the Kia Tigers of the Korea Baseball Organization.
Oller will take his talents to the defending KBO champions after making eight starts last season for the Marlins where he finished with a serviceable 5.31 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 36/22 K/BB ratio across 42 1/3 innings. The 30-year-old righty will aim to rebuild his value overseas in Korea, which has worked in the recent past for a laundry list of journeyman-type starters.
Adam Oller elected free agency after refusing an outright assignment to Triple-A Jacksonville.
Oller will hit the open market, and multiple outlets report that the 30-year-old is expected to explore the overseas market. A good season in Japan or Korea could set Oller up for a decent market in the majors in 2026 or 2027.
Adam Oller went five innings and allowed four runs to get a win Friday over the Blue Jays.
Oller didn’t pitch well, but he did pitch better than Jose Berrios, so he’s able to get the win. He finishes his 2024 season with a 5.31 ERA in eight starts with Miami, and could be back as an organizational depth for the Marlins in 2024. That obviously won’t make him a fantasy-relevant arm, of course.
Adam Oller struck out seven while allowing two runs in 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision versus Atlanta on Saturday.
Oller was a bit fortunate to allow only the pair of runs, as he gave up eight hits and two walks. He was able to get through some jams thanks to the aforementioned strikeouts, however, so credit where credit is due. Oller has a 5.06 ERA, but the 29-year-old has looked better than that number in his starts. He’ll make one final appearance against the Blue Jays on Friday.
