Carson Kelly (wrist) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Padres.
It’ll be Miguel Amaya behind the plate on Tuesday evening with Kelly sitting out with a wrist contusion. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.
Seiya Suzuki (wrist) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Padres.
Suzuki will sit out his third straight contest on Tuesday evening as he continues to nurse a lingering right wrist issue. It’ll be Justin Turner drawing another start at DH in his absence. There’s been no indication that Suzuki is in jeopardy of landing on the injured list, but fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status.
Cubs activated INF/OF Vidal Bruján from the 10-day injured list.
Bruján’s speed and defensive versatility make him a strong complementary role player at this stage of his career. The 27-year-old missed the first couple weeks of the regular season recovering from a right elbow sprain.
Cubs recalled RHP Daniel Palencia from Triple-A Iowa.
Palencia has struck out seven batters over four innings this season at the Triple-A level. The 25-year-old hurler figures to pitch in middle relief initially, but could work his way into some high-leverage spots. He’ll join Chicago’s relief mix ahead of Tuesday night’s showdown against the Padres.
