Dodges optioned RHP Landon Knack to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Knack has been jettisoned back to the minors with Bobby Miller coming up on Wednesday night for his season debut against the Rockies. The 27-year-old former top prospect delivered a pair of underwhelming starts during a brief big-league stint and will attempt to iron things out back at Triple-A Oklahoma City. He’s off fantasy manager’s radar screens until we see some legitimate improvement at the highest level.
The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya reports that Landon Knack will be optioned to Triple-A to make room for Bobby Miller on the active roster.
Bobby Miller is set to start on Wednesday against the Rockies, so the Dodgers will clear space by moving Knack down. Knack looked better in his second start of the season on Tuesday night, but his spot in the rotation won’t come up until next week, and the Dodgers are hopeful that Blake Snell may be ready to return by then. If not, the Dodgers could still call Knack back up, but it’s interesting to note that, once this move is processed, Knack will only have one more minor league option remaining, so the Dodgers are getting close to the point where they can’t keep bringing him up and down.
Landon Knack allowed two runs with two strikeouts over 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Rockies on Tuesday.
Knack worked three scoreless innings before surrendering two runs on a double by Jacob Stallings in the fourth. He entered the fifth and retired the first batter before his day was done at 65 pitches. Knack would have to settle for a no-decision despite the lead as he failed to go five innings. The 27-year-old right-hander is tentatively lined up for a start against the Cubs in Chicago next Wednesday.
Landon Knack will make another start next week against the Rockies.
Knack will get another opportunity next week against the Rockies at Dodger Stadium after allowing five runs over 2 1/3 innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Nationals. The 27-year-old struggled to throw strikes and needed 69 pitches (36 strikes) to work into the third inning. He’s better than he showed during Wednesday’s spot start, but it’ll be challenging to trust him again for streaming purposes outside of deeper mixed leagues.
