NFL Draft 2025 Tracker: First Round Picks
Draft Pick No. | NFL Team | Player | Live NFL Draft Tracker Analysis |
1 | Cam Ward | The worst-kept secret is officially official - the Tennessee Titans have selected Miami quarterback Cam Ward with the first pick of the 2025 NFL Draft. It might not be the best quarterback class in recent memory but Ward offers the best combination of character, talent, and upside. He's a gunslinger and a risk-taker who will need to hone his craft, but his playstyle has put some impressive highlights on tape. The Titans have Calvin Ridley already and just signed Tyler Lockett - let's see if they add another weapon for Ward as this draft progresses.
2 | Jacksonville Jaguars (via CLE) | Travis Hunter | The Jaguars traded up to 2 overall giving up their 1st, 2nd, and 4th this year as well as their 1st next year. The Jaguars were reportedly infatuated with Travis Hunter as a prospect and James Gladstone did what it took to bring him to Jacksonville. Whether he plays wide receiver or cornerback he's going to be a great player but he has the opportunity to truly be a unicorn if he plays both. |
3 | Abdul Carter | Abdul Carter is not only an elite player but he plays at a premium position. Those are the guys that go early in the NFL Draft so it's no surprise to see him here. He's incredibly explosive for 6'3" 255 pounds with a lot of bend to get around the edge. He'll join a stout defensive front with the Giants that already includes guys like Dexter Lawrence and Brian Burns. With Micah Parsons as well, Penn State is developing a reputation for solid pass-rushers.
4 | Will Campbell | Back in 2014, there was a prospect from Notre Dame who played every snap at offensive tackle. But, based on his size, they wanted him to play guard instead. That player was Zack Martin and he went on to be a Hall of Fame caliber guard. Campbell will try to play tackle at the NFL level but, worst case, he should be a rock solid guard at the next level. Maybe not a sexy pick but a safe one. And the Patriots just need good players, regardless of position.
5 | Cleveland Browns (via JAX) | Mason Graham | The interior defender out of Michigan is incredibly disruptive from his 3 technique role. Historically edge defenders go earlier in drafts we've seen interior defenders go earlier as it's a copy cat league. Teams like the Eagles, Rams, and 49ers have done a great job using difference makers like this and now Brownshave one of their own. And they collected a haul of picks while trading down to get him. |
6 | Ashton Jeanty | If generational prospects like Saquon Barkley and Calvin Johnson are in the A+ range, Ashton Jeanty is an A or, at the very least, an A-. The problem is that running back isn't necessarily a premium position and is viewed by many as a "luxury pick" in the first round. The XXXXX opt to take the best available player regardless of position which is both fun for the fans and fantasy gamers alike. Raider GM John Spytek said his son would disown him if he didn't take Jeanty here so I guess he gets to stay atop of the dad depth chart for a little longer.
7 | Armand Membou | Armand Membou was a wrestler in high school on top of being a star lineman and you can see that balance and coordination in his playstyle. He might not be a star left tackle in this league but he can be a starting right tackle right from the rip. He'd be a great fit for a zone sceheme especially - he was top 10 in zone blocking snaps last year per Pro Football Focus. New Jets general manager Darren Mougey makes his first pick with an immediate contributor.
8 | Tetairoa McMillan | The Carolina Panthers get a true split end here with the 6'4" split end. One that can teather his foot to the line, beat the jam, and go get 50/50 balls. He was super productive at Arizona and the Panthers hope he can contiue for them. He'll join a room with Adam Thielen, Xavier Leggette, and Jalen Coker to bolster the receiving group for Bryce Young.
9 | Kelvin Banks | There were a lot of rumors of the Saints potentially taking a quarterback here. Instead the Saints decide to bolster the offensive line with tackel Kelvin Banks. And it's really no surprise given what new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore did with the Eagles and where they had their success. Good news for Alvin Kamara and company.
10 | Colston Loveland | Many had Tyler Warren as the top tight end on the board. But the Chicago Bears decided that Loveland was the top pick. He's a tremendous pass-catcher, especially on slants, but is also big enough to play inline tight end. Ben Johnson had tremendous success with Sam LaPorta so we have a good idea of what Loveland will get into. It's not good news for Cole Kmet who will likely skew more blocking now. It's also now hard to rank Warren over Loveland in fantasy drafts now that the younger prospect has gone earlier.
11 | Mykel Williams | Mykel Williams was a big name in early early mocks back in August/September but fell out of favor with injuries. He's been a late riser (or at least rising back to previous hype) so it's not surprising to see him go hear at 11. Williams paired with Nick Bosa on the outside will be a nightmare situation for opposing quarterbacks and tackles.
12 | Tyler Booker | People wanted the Cowboys to make splash. Jerry Jones has talked about TWO trades they had in the works. Instead they take the safe play with interior linemen Tyler Booker. You can't just replace Hall of Famer Zack Martin but this is a step in the right direction for this team. Booker did not allow a single sack in his final season in college.
13 | Kenneth Grant | This draft is loaded with defense tackle options in the interior. So it's extra impressive if a team decides one of them is worthy of going ahead of the pack rather than trading back and getting more value. The Miami Dolphins have holes in the trenches on both sides but Grant fills a big one that was left by Christian Wilkins last offseason.
14 |
| Tyler Warren was the focal point of the Penn State offense. The main character. Which is rare for a tight end. But this is a rare tight end. He's a converted quaterback so they used his skills there as a wildcat quarterback where he ran and threw for touchdowns. He also had nearly double the catches vs. man to man of any other tight end. He's a star. Many expected him to be the TE1 off the board but he's a first round pick to a team of need where he will start right away. | |
15 | Jalon Walker | In my first two mock drafts I had Jalon Walker here to the Falcons. In my final mock I tinkered and had Walker going earlier based on recent news of teams being interested. That's got to feel good for Falcons fans to not only get a great fit but a local guy from Georgia. Jeff Ulbrich has big plans for a defense that has some schemes that the league "may not have seen before" and the versatile Walker sounds like a good fit.
16 |
| The Arizona Cardinals have made a lot of picks on the offensive side of the ball in recent years. This year they finally decide to give Jonathan Gannon some help on the defensive side of the ball with a disruptive interior defender. There were rumbling that perhaps Nolen could slide due to character issues but, he's been such a productive player, that maybe this is what a slide looks like. That's now three interior defensive players in the first half of the first round, a notable change from past years. | |
17 | Shemar Stewart | Here's an example of the smokescreen around a player proving to be just that. Some even had him slipping out of the first round entirely. But the Cincinnati Bengals are betting on the talent of Stewart for a defense that needs a LOT of help. He didn't get after the quarterback much in college but he's a big problem in the middle and will make life easier on Trey Hendrickson and company.
18 | Grey Zabel | We had Tyler Booker going here but he went earlier to the Dallas Cowboys. Grey Zabel fits the bill as well and should be a huge addition to an offensive line that failed to find stability and continuity in 2024. It's not easy to do that when one of your guys, Connor Williams, retires mid-season. Klint Kubiak and Rick Dennison are offensive line gurus so Zabel finds himself in good hands.
19 | Emeka Egbuka | Our upside comp for Emeka Egbuka is actually Chris Godwin. The Buccaneers seem to like Chris Godwin a lot so it makes sense, given his injury last year and general injury history, that they would have depth for a key role. It could take time for him to carve out a high end role in fantasy but not every rookie is going to play a key role or even start right away. He's still a good pick in dynasty but might not be a great redraft play.
20 | Jahdae Barron | I'd be lying if I told you I wanted the Broncos to take any position other than running back. But I can admit that this is a good pick. Whether or not you beleive Jahdae Barron is the best corner in the class, we can all admit he's a versatile player. He played safety, outside corner, and nickel in college. They will find a job for him right away.
21 | Derrick Harmon | It's a copycat league. Look at the NFC Super Bowl teams in recent years. The Eagles, the 49ers, the Rams. They have made pressure from the interior a priority. So it's not surprising to see a fifth defensive interior player going in the first round. We could still see another. A good pick here for the Steelers. It's worth noting that they were a favorite to take Shedeur Sanders and didn't but not everything needs to be about QBs.
22 | Omarion Hampton | We know that Jim Harbaugh and Greg Roman want to run the football. In year one, they pieced it together with guys like JK Dobbins and Gus Edwards that Roman was familiar with. This year they take no chances. They signed Najee Harris. And took the RB2 off the board in Omarion Hampton. In most years, the super productive Hampton would be the RB1.
23 | Matthew Golden | The Green Bay Packers have never taken a wide receiver in the first round since 2002. So why not make a splash with Matthew Golden in front of the hometown crowd with the draft in Green Bay? Golden wasn't super productive in college but he flashed his ability while also running a blazing 4.29 forty. He'll be expected to step in and play a major role right away for a team who has good pieces but needs a true star at WR.
24 | Donovan Jackson | The Vikings will likely be starting a rookie quarterback this year. But they have weapons like Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, T.J. Hockenson, and Aaron Jones to surround him with already. So it makes sense to focus on keeping him upright in a clean pocket. Donovan Jackson is a day one starter at guard which is a position of need in Minnesota. Donovan Jackson
25 | New York Giants (via HOU | Jaxson Dart | The Giants decided they weren't done in the first round so they traded their 2nd and 3rd round picks this year to Houston to get back into the first round. They then decided to pass on Sheduer Sanders to go with Jaxson Dart, a younger prospect with a lot of upside out of Ole Miss. He'll likely start off learning behind Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston where he can develop into an NFL caliber starter. A guy like Patrick Mahomes has stated that he would not be the guy he is without spending a year behind Alex Smith. |
26 | Atlanta Falcons (via LAR) | James Pearce Jr. | There will be no complaining about the Falcons not prioritizing pass rush this time around like last year when they took Michael Penix After taking Jalon Walker, they also traded back up to take James Pearce Jr. I wouldn't be surprised if they had similar grades on both players and decided to grab them both while the price was right. You can never have too much pressure. |
27 | Malaki Starks | This is dangerous letting the Ravens get Malaki Starks here. They already run some of the most confusing and complicated secondaries out there. They have the hard hitting Kyle Hamilton. Pairing him with a ball-hawking free safety like Starks could create one of the best young tandems in the league. A good pick for Baltimore who isn't afraid to trade out if there isn't a guy they like.
28 | Tyleik Williams | This is the first pick that wasn't really a consensus first round pick. But when you have five defensive tackles going in the first round before him, you may need to reach a little to get your guy. Each year the Lions have fewer and fewer holes in their team as they attempt to make that final push over the hump.
29 | Josh Conerly Jr. | Just a smart pick here for the Washington Commaners. You have Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel. Zach Ertz is back as well as the youngster Ben Sinnot. You have two capable backs in Brian Robinson and Austin Ekeler. Why not build up in the trenches in front of Jayden Daniels? Conerly is an immediate improvement for this line.
30 | Maxwell Hairston | Wide receivers like Xavier Worthy and Matthew Golden are running sub 4.3 forty yard dashes. So the Buffalo Bills decided to get their own speedster on the other side, drafting the faster cornerback in the 2025 NFL Draft. They have leaned on Josh Allen on the offensive side for years so the best way to help him and this team is improving that defense and making life easier.
31 | Philadelphia Eagles (KC) | Jihaad Campbell | Whenever you see a team trade up one pick, you know that another team was interested in trading for that pick. The Eagles clearly made the best offer if the Chiefs were willing to give them the pick after losing to them in the Super Bowl. And Howie Roseman, once again, snags a player in Jihaad Campbell that was expected to go earlier. He can't keep getting away with it! |
32 |
| The Chiefs were able to trade back one pick which allowed them to gain a little extra draft capital and get their guy. Can't argue with that. Their guy in this case happens to be Josh Simmons who should contribute to that offensive line right from the rip. The Chiefs are already one of the most complete teams in the league though they did just move Joe Thuney. So you have to be happy with them adding protection for Patrick Mahomes up front. |
Player News
Dolphins signed No. 13 overall pick DT Kenneth Grant to a four-year contract.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Grant will sign his contract today. The former Michigan defensive tackle is expected to fill a major void left by Christian Wilkins, who left for the Raiders in the 2024 offseason. Grant totaled 32 tackles, three sacks, and seven TFLs in his final season at Michigan and excelled at stopping the run while also generating 27 pressures in his final season, per PFF.
Beat reporter John Hendrix reports that free agent WR Donovan Peoples-Jones is among the 16 players that the Saints will host for their rookie minicamp.
Peoples-Jones last played regular season snaps with the Lions back in 2023, when he caught 13-of-24 targets for 155 yards. He is highly unlikely to return to fantasy relevance at this point but could perhaps sign on as a special teams contributor.
Titans signed fourth-round pick WR Elic Ayomanor to a four-year contract.
Ayomanor will now begin learning behind Calvin Ridley. Although Ayomanor is unlikely to find a meaningful role in year one, dynasty managers should note his status as training camp gets underway this summer. The former Stanford receiver flashed big-play ability in his two college seasons.
Buccaneers signed seventh-round pick WR Tez Johnson to a four-year contract.
Johnson will serve as a rotational deep-threat option for Baker Mayfield. His thin frame (5'10/154) simply does not lend itself to the repeated hits one incurs in a full-time role. Johnson did earn 100-plus targets in his two seasons at Oregon, though. His big-play style make him a better fit in best ball for now, pending any major on-field breakthroughs.
Giants waived DT Casey Rogers.
Rogers was a 2024 undrafted free agent and logged 33 defensive snaps for the Giants in his rookie season. He is credited with zero tackles and/or sacks. He may find his way onto another roster as a practice squad option.
Vikings signed third-round pick WR Tai Felton to a four-year contract.
Felton is quietly in play to challenge Vikings No. 3 WR Jalen Nailor in training camp. Nailor (5'11/190) caught 28-of-42 targets for 414 yards and six touchdowns in his first season as a starter last year, with the latter category buoying his fantasy productivity. Felton (6'1/183), meanwhile, caught 96-of-143 targets for 1,119 yards and nine touchdowns while averaging 2.32 yards per route run in his final college season. Fantasy managers should monitor Felton’s training camp reports this summer, as he could have a matchup-based WR5 role if everything falls into place.
