Fantasy Baseball 2024 Two-Start Pitchers & Streaming Starters For Week 4
An absolute glut of top-tier aces to consider employing for both their times on the mound this coming week, and a even dozen plus one two-start pitchers that inhabit the bottom-tier that it is suggested you avoid trusting with your fantasy production this coming scoring period. There are but five middle-tier hurlers, and the last member of that group is more a streaming option for his first start, and not recommended in his second start of Week 4.

If you are seeking some quality pitching to plug into your rotations this week, you would do well to avail yourself of this boatload of top-notch arms. There are a couple or three surprising new denizens of the upper group, such as Ryan Weathers and Jared Jones, plus plenty of solid veteran experience as well. Plug these pitchers into your lineup and take advantage of both their trips to toe the rubber in Week 4.

Singer started the season by tossing a pair of quality starts (QS), although he has only lasted five innings in each of the most recent outings. His strikeout rate has dropped since he fanned 10 Twins in the first game he pitched, and the free passes are trending up, but he has been providing attractive ratio stats over his 23.1 IP this season. Getting to face the Blue Jays at home is an advantage.
Abbott took a loss despite pitching generally well in his last outing, causing himself problems by serving up a pair of dingers in the contest. He features a useful set of ratio stats (2.70 ERA, 1.07 WHIP), holding opposing offenses to two runs or less in each of his four starts in 2024. The matchups are not ideal, but his early work provides potential benefit for his fantasy owners.
Greene coming off an inefficient 98 pitch 4.0 IP effort against the host Mariners is not much of a inducement to trust him for two starts in Week 4, but the strikeouts are decidedly enticing: 30 over 20.2 IP for a superb 13.1 K/9 rate. As with his teammate profiled just above, the matchups are tough, but if you treasure whiffs, he is worth considering.
Winn has been working to send his ratios into useful range for fantasy purposes, holding opposing offenses to just three earned tallies over his most recent two starts comprising 11.0 IP. He has two home starts in Week 4, but that comes with the caveat that he has been better on the road over his short MLB career; the limited sample size suggests that may balance out, perhaps as soon as Week 4.
If Rodon did not get to face the A’s at home this week, he would likely be a bottom tier resident instead of completing the middle group of dual start SPs. An 18:11 K/BB ratio over his 19.2 IP on the season is a concern, naturally. He is a two-start pitcher who may be best employed only for his first time atop the bump this scoring period.

An baker’s dozen of pitchers that you should be cautious about slotting into your active rotation despite the allure of a pair of time atop the bump in Week 4. The risk in using any of these pitchers is that the potential damage to your ratio stats is not offset by the minimal counting stat production. If you mush use one or more of these pitchers, do not plan on reaping double-start value, but instead choose with particular care for venue and opponent benefit.
Potential Streaming Options for Week 4
There is no promise that each game day will provide a streaming option. First of all, the pitcher must be available in at least 50% of leagues to be a viable candidate to snag off the wire. Then, the pitchers discussed above are not included as they have a different sort of value, even though some might be available as free agents in your league. Plus, some days the matchups and/or venues just do not figure as positive enough factors to favor plugging the arm into your rotation, even for one start. That all being said, here are this week’s best streaming candidates:
Trevor Rogers, Miami Marlins @ Atlanta Braves
The 26-year-old southpaw came an out short of collecting his first QS of the season, and has held opposing offenses to just five earned tallies over his last three times climbing atop the bump. He generates a ton of ground balls (51.6% GR rate over his 20.2 IP) and strikes out nearly a batter per frame. This matchup is not fantastic, but his overall efforts of recent vintage tip the scales in his favor as the first streaming option of the week.
Ben Brown, Chicago Cubs vs Houston Astros
Despite pitching effectively over his last three starts (the first was a rough six earned run effort), he is perhaps not long for the Cub rotation, as Jameson Taillon is due to return to action soon. Thus, get him while he is hot: he has racked up 14 Ks against just four free passes over his recent 14.2 IP, and held opponents to just two earned tallies. He gets the struggling Astros at home, to boot.
Tyler Anderson, Los Angeles Angels vs Baltimore Orioles
The veteran lefty struggled a bit in his most recent time toeing the rubber, but still offers a stellar 1.47 ERA and 0.98 WHIP. He gets Baltimore at home, which plays in his favor in this contest. Not a SP to rely upon for counting stats, you need to be satisfied with the ratio production.
Clarke Schmidt, New York Yankees vs Oakland Athletics
The fifth-year righthander snagged his first win of the year, despite allowing five free passes to Guardian hitters. He did hold Cleveland to a single earned run, and his ERA is appealing, although those walks impact his WHIP negatively. Getting Oakland as an opponent at home bodes well for his continued success on the hill, at least in this contest.
Jake Irvin, Washington Nationals vs Los Angeles Dodgers
The second-year righty has racked up a pair of QS in his last two times on the bump, allowing just a single earned run over those 12.0 IP with a useful 11:3 K/BB ratio. Getting to face the Dodgers at home is a plus on his ledger.
Graham Ashcraft, Cincinnati Reds vs Philadelphia Phillies
The third-year righty picked up his second consecutive victory, while recording eight Ks over his 5.2 IP effort on the mound. The Phillies swing and miss a fair amount, so the strikeout total should be there once again and so long as he keeps generating the grounders from opposing bats and limiting the walks, despite the opponent and the home venue, this is a decent streaming matchup.
Matt Waldron, San Diego Padres @ Colorado Rockies
The 27-year-old knuckleballer held the Dodger offense to just a single earned run in his last trip to the mound, despite handing out four walks while collecting four Ks. His two road efforts have been his best performances in the early going in 2024, so there is the hope that trend continues when he takes the ball in Coors Field.
Jose Butto, New York Mets vs St. Louis Cardinals
The young righty may find himself ensconced in the Met rotation going forward, as his efforts in the first two games he has tossed this season have been a pair of QS where he has racked up 15 Ks against four free passes. With just one earned run allowed in his two starts, he sports an impressive matching cufflink-set of ratio stats: 0.75 ERA and WHIP. Here, he gets the Cards at home, a potentially beneficial situation.
Colin Rea, Milwaukee Brewers vs New York Yankees
The veteran righthander came within an out of collecting his second consecutive QS, although the three earned runs he yielded over the 5.2 IP pushed his ERA to a still useful 2.70. His peripheral stats indicate some early luck: 84% LOB, 4.14 FIP. Here, he gets the red-hot Yankees at home, and will hope his good luck streak continues in this late Week 4 contest.
Trevor Williams, Washington Nationals @ Miami Marlins
The veteran 32-year-old righty could have notched his third win in three attempts but for coughing up some late scoring to the A’s, coupled with some ineffective at best bullpen “help.” He will make an effort to return to his former winning ways on the road in a pitcher-friendly park, and his team has played better away from home thus far this season, as well.
