2024 Player Outlook
2023 Recap: Here’s the good news, since everyone likes good news first, he started the most games, had the most innings, won the most games, and posted his second-best ERA since 2019. In fact, Corbin’s 10 wins led the Nationals’ pitching staff. Here’s the bad news, his ERA was still 5.20 and 6.16 xERA, while his K-rate fell again — down to 6.20 K/9 — and his average velocity on his pitches fell again.
2024 Outlook: More of the same is expect for Corbin. It’s clear, clearer with every season, that he’s past his two-year prime of 2018-19. He’s not missing bats much anymore and he can’t overpower hitters when he misses his spots. That’s a recipe for high ratios and not much help in strikeouts with a lessening chance of wins.
