I’m here to bring you my favorite wide receivers in my NFL DFS Week 2 WR coach piece for lineups on DraftKings’ and FanDuel’s main slate. There are some interesting games on the slate, and I find myself liking some players from offenses you may not be expecting!

From the top priced receivers to the value wide receivers, and everything in between, I’m your official NFL DFS Week 2 WR coach! I even added a couple of Week 2 bold predictions at wide receiver, too, so check that out at the end, especially if you are looking at some Week 2 NFL player props.

NFL DFS Week 2 WR Coach For FanDuel & DraftKings Fantasy

When constructing your Week 2 daily fantasy football lineups, there are going to be some interesting decisions to be made. First and foremost, we have some notable offenses that aren’t featured on the main slate, including the Houston Texans, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, and Philadelphia Eagles

Furthermore, while we do have three games with a line of at least 47 points, but six games at or below 42 points! With that in mind, which wide receivers are being looked at in my NFL DFS Week 2 WR coach article for FanDuel and DraftKings? Continue reading below!

NFL Week 2 Wide Receivers

Mike Evans and Amon-Ra St. Brown are two of my favorite high-priced plays, as we could see some offensive fireworks through the air in that NFC Divisional Round rematch. The Jacksonville Jaguars’ secondary was bad with Tyson Campbell, and now he’s out, so I’m hoping that Deshaun Watson can find Amari Cooper on a couple of occasions in this one.

One thing I am watching throughout the week is the NFL injury report as it pertains to the New Orleans Saints. Marshon Lattimore could be in some trouble for Week 2, and if that’s the case, you’ll be seeing some Dallas Cowboys pop onto the WR Coach as the week goes on, namely CeeDee Lamb and/or Brandin Cooks.

If you are shopping on a budget at the wide receiver position this week, Denver’s Devaughn Vele is PPR gold, and Wan'Dale Robinson actually received more targets than Malik Nabers last week and finds himself in a very juicy Week 2 contest against Washington.

NFL DFS WR Results: Week 1 Coach

The Good

We nailed the top tier picks from last week with Tyreek Hill, Nico Collins, and Justin Jefferson. Beyond that, Chris Godwin and Brian Thomas gave us some nice ROI, and Nabers was just three targets short from giving us a 2-1 day in the bold predictions department. Lastly, the fade of the week (Michael Pittman) turned out nice. Of the top 11 scoring receivers on DraftKings in Week 1, the DFS WR Coach had five of them listed.

The Bad

Keenan Allen led Chicago in targets, but didn’t have as much to show for it by game’s end. Terry McLaurin, Darnell Mooney, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba were all busts.

NFL DFS WR Top-Tier Picks For Week 2

Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers - DraftKings: $7,500 | FanDuel: $8,000

Evans took advantage of a soft Washington secondary in the season opener, totaling 61 yards and his first two touchdowns of the year. The Rams peppered Cooper Kupp with targets, and regardless of whether it’s Carlton Davis or Terrion Arnold, Evans is going to have a very productive week.

Detroit will stifle the Tampa Bay run game, forcing the Bucs to go through the air. While things are totally different, Mayfield threw the ball 41 times in the playoff game against Detroit, and they had just 15 rushing attempts. Oh, Evans had eight catches for 147 yards and a touchdown in that game. I really like Chris Godwin this week as well, even though he’s not explicitly mentioned below.

Deebo Samuel, San Francisco 49ers - DraftKings: $6,800 | FanDuel: $7,300

With no Christian McCaffrey in Week 1, Deebo Samuel handled nine targets in the passing game and eight carries on the ground. With that type of workload, his price tag is criminally low in a juicy matchup against a Minnesota secondary that is underwhelming.

The 49ers will score some points, as their implied total indicates, and Samuel will be heavily utilized once again. I love Deebo to find the end zone again this week, as he handled three red zone rushing attempts and saw one red zone target in Week 1 as well. Samuel has a high probability of being a staple of my Week 2 DFS cash game lineups.

Garrett Wilson, New York Jets - DraftKings: $7,100 | FanDuel: $8,100

Allen Lazard got the touchdowns in Week 1, but Wilson saw 11 targets and now gets to go up against the Tennessee Titans. The Jets moved Wilson into the slot on occasion in Week 1, and that could be something they look to do again this week to get him into a more advantageous situation (A.K.A. away from L'Jarius Sneed).

Aaron Rodgers posted a 118.8 passer rating when targeting Wilson out of the slot in Week 1, per Pro Football Focus, and he had a healthy 5.43 yards per route run. Wilson is a bit too pricey on FanDuel, but the price point is very attractive on DraftKings.

Cooper Kupp, Los Angeles Rams - DraftKings: $7,600 | FanDuel: $7,700

In Week 1, Kupp saw 21 targets. TWENTY-ONE!!! He caught 14 of them for 110 yards and a touchdown, and it seems like the reports are true that he’s back to full health, unlike in 2023. In Week 1, his 2.16 yards per route run metric was far higher than last year’s 1.86 mark, and his 7.4 aDOT, per Pro Football Focus, is right around the past couple of seasons.

With no Puka Nacua, there’s no reason to believe he won’t get peppered with targets once again, and Sean McVay moves him around so much, it’s hard to prevent Kupp from getting the football. Expect pretty high ownership on Kupp this week in daily fantasy football action.

Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions - DraftKings: $8,100 | FanDuel: $9,000

St. Brown gets to square off against a Tampa Bay secondary that I’m not overly inspired by. Yes, they bottled up the Washington passing attack, but it was Jayden Daniels’ first regular season action. This game has a 50+ point total on most sportsbooks, and check out St. Brown’s numbers in two games against the Lions last season:

  • Week 6: 12 receptions on 15 targets for 124 yards and 1 TD
  • Divisional Round: 8 receptions on 14 targets for 77 yards and 1 TD

The Lions won’t let St. Brown have two quiet games in a row, and I like Detroit to air it out more than they did in Week 1 (28 pass attempts in Week 1).

CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys - DraftKings: $8,800 | FanDuel: $9,100

ADDED 9/13: I told you that we are likely paying up at wide receiver this week, so here's another elite option from which to choose. Marshon Lattimore didn't practice on Wednesday or Thursday, and while he was able to play Week 1 despite popping up on the injury report, he was able to get in limited and full practices. That isn't the case this week. I'm growing pessimistic that Lattimore is able to play, meaning that New Orleans will be without its top corner as they head to Dallas. Dak Prescott posted a 22:3 TD/INT ratio at home last year (regular season), and posted a passer rating that was nearly 30 points higher than his mark on the road! Meanwhile, in eight regular season home games last season, Lamb averaged 119.4 yards and one touchdown per game. If you want part of the Dallas offense without Lamb's price tag, Brandin Cooks is very affordable this week.

NFL DFS WR Mid-Tier Picks For NFL Week 2

Rashee Rice, Kansas City Chiefs - DraftKings: $6,700 | FanDuel: $6,900

Rice caught seven of nine targets in the season opener, and there’s a lot of encouraging numbers for Patrick Mahomes’ top wideout. His 4.29 yards per route run is a massive improvement from last year’s 2.21 mark, and he took a higher percentage of slot snaps than he did in all but a handful of games last season.

The Cincinnati secondary wasn’t truly tested in Week 1, and last year, Mike Hilton allowed the seventh-most receiving yards in slot coverage, albeit while allowing just an 81.9 passer rating when targeted. Side note: I do like Xavier Worthy in GPP builds.

Amari Cooper, Cleveland Browns - DraftKings: $6,200 | FanDuel: $6,300

Tyson Campbell will miss this game and the rest of the Jacksonville cornerbacks STINK! Ronald Darby, Jarrian Jones, Montaric Brown, WHOEVER! Despite Deshaun Watson’s struggles in Week 1, Cooper received nine targets, though he only caught two of them for 16 yards.

His stat line would have been a lot different if he would have caught a long touchdown pass in the second half, but alas, the volume is strong, and Jacksonville’s run defense looks formidable. I expect to pick on Jacksonville a lot in 2024, and that continues here.

Malik Nabers, New York Giants - DraftKings: $5,900 | FanDuel: $6,400

Daniel Jones posted a 100.9 passer rating when targeting Nabers in Week 1, and things should only improve as the year goes on. Nabers drew a healthy number of targets in his regular season debut against the Vikings, hauling in five of the seven passes thrown his way, while posting a 1.32 yards per route run, per Pro Football Focus.

I’m comfortable saying that Washington has one of the worst secondaries in all of football, and I’m an optimist, so I think even Daniel Jones can make some good things happen through the air, especially with someone as talented as Nabers.

Terry McLaurin, Washington Commanders - DraftKings: $5,700 | FanDuel: $6,000

I know it was a bad Week 1, and he let a lot of people down, myself included. However, scared money don’t make money, and I expect two things to happen. The first of which is that the Giants do not let Jayden Daniels beat them with his legs.

The second of which is that there will be an emphasis on getting McLaurin the ball against a New York Giants secondary that just made Sam Darnold look like a reliable NFL quarterback. It was a letdown in Week 1, but I’m doubling down on McLaurin in Week 2.

NFL Week 2 DFS WR Value Picks

Wan'Dale Robinson, New York Giants - DraftKings: $4,300 | FanDuel: $5,400

Listen - Say what you want about the New York Giants’ passing attack, but we can’t understate how good of a matchup this is. The Commanders let Baker Mayfield and Co. walk up and down the field in Week 1, and while Robinson only had six grabs for 44 yards, he had a team-high 12 targets!

He also had one rushing attempt, and I believe that the Giants could be playing from behind again this week. Robinson may not be as flashy of a play as Malik Nabers, but it’s hard to ignore the 12 targets from Week 1, and a matchup against one of the worst secondaries in the NFL.

Ladd McConkey, Los Angeles Chargers - DraftKings: $4,900 | FanDuel: $5,700

McConkey caught five of seven targets in Week 1 for 39 yards, not to mention his first professional touchdown. He gets a juicy matchup against Carolina, and he should be able to avoid Jaycee Horn for the majority of his snaps, which bodes well for the rookie wideout.

When he’s away from Horn, he’ll likely see Mike Jackson, who allowed 83.3 percent of his targets to be caught last week, not to mention a 99.3 passer rating when targeted, per Pro Football Focus. McConkey led the targets in Week 1, and I’d expect that to happen again this week.

NFL DFS WR Fades For Week 2

Ja'Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals - DraftKings: $7,800 | FanDuel: $8,700

I’m going to keep it simple here. Chase caught all six of his targets and played a good bit in Week 1, but I’m simply not paying this elite price point in a less than desirable matchup. Joe Burrow posted just 5.7 yards per attempt in Week 1 against the Patriots, and until I see it from Burrow, I simply cannot pay this high-end price tag for Chase. In Week 1, the Chiefs held Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman to just eight receptions on 15 targets for 90 yards.

NFL Week 2 WR Play Of The Week (High-Upside Contrarian)

Gabe Davis, Jacksonville Jaguars - DraftKings: $4,400 | FanDuel: $5,900

Based on snap alignment in Week 1, Brian Thomas may see a good bit of Denzel Ward, whereas Gabe Davis will see Martin Emerson Jr., whom Dallas picked on a bit in Week 1.

Davis caught all three of his targets in Week 1 for 62 yards, and healthy metrics in terms of his yard per route run (2.58) and aDOT (16.0), per Pro Football Focus, make him an intriguing dart throw against a Cleveland defense that ranked in the bottom-third in Week 1 in fantasy points allowed to wideouts.
