Jaguars selected Arkansas CB Montaric Brown with the No. 222 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Brown (6’/190) redshirted his freshman season before playing in 42 games, starting 34 of them. His PFF grades improved steadily each year, going from 59.2 in 2017 to 74.0 in 2021. Not only did his grades improve, but so did his ball production. He accumulated seven interceptions and 14 pass breakups, including five and six in 2021, respectively. A physical corner with good size, Brown does a great job attacking the ball and the receiver at the catch point, though his movement skills and athleticism are not great.

49ers selected Penn State CB Tariq Castro-Fields with the No. 221 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Castro-Fields (6’1/197) made 30 starts across 52 games for the Nittany Lions, amassing 2,314 snaps. He did miss the final six games of 2020 with an undisclosed injury. Castro-Fields' success was due in no small part to his size, athleticism, and length. He scored a 9.74 Relative Athletic Score, fueled by excellent speed scores. His 4.38 40-yard dash shows up on game film, as he can run with just about everybody. Castro-Fields has good ball skills, but that didn’t translate into a ton of production, with only three interceptions and 15 pass breakups. Castro-Fields ultimately has the size, athletic profile, and high football IQ to translate to nearly any scheme. He will be a player that is selected to try and extract his high upside.

49ers selected UCF DT Kalia Davis with the No. 220 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Davis (6’1/302) is a fifth-year player who opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 concerns. When he returned in 2021, Davis was named as a full-time starter but missed out on UCF’s final eight games due to a torn ACL. In his limited action, Davis totaled 17 tackles, 4.5 TFLs, and one sack. While not the biggest of defensive tackles, Davis flashes at times on tape, getting quick jumps off the line of scrimmage to devastate backfields. A former linebacker turned lineman, Davis appears to have maintained some of his speed despite the added weight. He possesses multiple moves to penetrate opposing lines and can shift his body to squeeze between gaps. Having played in only five games since 2019, Davis will need to show that his recent tape and production were no fluke. Davis could be used in multiple defensive fronts given his versatility.

Titans selected Ole Miss LB Chance Campbell with the No. 219 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Campbell (6'2"/232) is a bit of an odd one. His athletic testing was off the charts, ranking in the 90th+ percentile in both jumping drills, and his 4.57 40 was in the 86th percentile. Yet, he doesn't really show that type of speed in his play for the most part, and he looks much stiffer than his agility drills would imply. Coverage is predictably not a strong suit, posting just a 60.6 coverage grade in 2021 per PFF and allowing a 75% catch rate. What Campbell does have, though, is intelligence and experience to read plays and a dogged tenacity to get there. Campbell has trouble shedding blocks due to his bottom of the barrel length, but he has good strength and uses it. While he may not be an ace in coverage, he can attack as a pass rusher in passing downs. Campbell has athleticism in him that he's not properly utilizing, and if he can figure out how to unlock the theoretical speed he has, he could be a sixth-round steal.
