Top Tier Core Plays

Luka Doncic, Dallas Mavericks

Even with Kyrie Irving back, Doncic has a 35% USG and averages 1.6 FP/min, which is as good as you’ll find on this slate. This game also has the most implied points.

Anthony Davis, Los Angeles Lakers

The spot doesn’t get any better for centers and now AD is…SUB 10K? OK. He’s second in usage at 26.7% and averages 1.47 FP/min this year. The only issue is IF he plays the fourth quarter here.

Trae Young, Atlanta Hawks

Here’s a contrarian play for you. With Clint Capela off the floor this year, Young sees a +3.2% USG bump to 34.1% and averages 1.5 FP/min. Young gets the Clippers on the second leg of a back-to-back, are only 2.5-point dogs, and are involved in a 242.5 point total. Young’s scored 30+ in four of five and 52+ DKP in four of five.

Tyrese Maxey, Philadelphia 76ers

Maxey is going to be popular, especially if Tobias Harris is eventually ruled out. With Melton and Embiid out, Maxey gets a +10.7% USG bump up to 38.3% and averages 1.4 FP/min. If you had Harris to that, it’s +13.6%, 41.2%, and 1.45 respectively.

Mid-Tier Core Plays

Kawhi Leonard, Los Angeles Clippers

Leonard continues to be nails every time out. He’s scored 25+ points and 46+ DKP in five straight games and has a massive pace-up spot vs. ATL tonight. Atlanta is 27th in DRtg and 4th in pace.

Tobias Harris, Philadelphia 76ers

With Joel Embiid and De’Anthony Melton off the floor this year, Harris has a 25% USG (4% USG bump) and averages 1.12 FP/min. We’ll need to get an update on his status before going all in as he’s listed QUEST with his second illness the past week.

Jalen Johnson, Atlanta Hawks

Johnson's put up 35+ DKP in five straight games and is coming off 53 last time out. He averages 1.03 FP/min without Clint Capela this year while playing with Trae Young. He's playing big minutes, in the highest game total of the day, and continues to be a FP/min guy each slate.

Immanuel Quickley, Toronto Raptors

With RJ Barrett ruled out, Quickley has..quickly..become more interesting as a DFS play. I'll see myself out. He's averaged 1.2 FP/min and a 25% USG with those that have been ruled out. We shouldn't worry about his minutes playing 40 in the Double-OT game yesterday.

Brandon Miller, Charlotte Hornets

With Ball, Rozier, Hayward, and Williams this year, Brandon Miller has a 29.1% USG, which leads the team (+6.5% USG also leads) and averages 1.06 FP/min. This is a big-time pace-up spot for the Hornets as the Lakers are 6th in the league in that category.

Cam Thomas, Brooklyn Nets

Thomas is coming off a 40-point game, scored 41 against the Warriors, and has averaged 30.4 points and 43.1 DKP/game over his last five. The Warriors are a bottom-10 defense for the season but 29th in defense since January 1st. Thomas should have his way here once again.

Jakob Poeltl, Toronto Raptors

Poeltl played 33 minutes, some aided by the overtime, but he also lost time in the first half due to foul trouble. He played nearly 16 second half minutes, so he was tracking for 32 regulation minutes. With Jontay Porter out and Chris Boucher out of the rotation, Poeltl should play somewhere around 30 minutes tonight.

Value Tier Core Plays

Dennis Schroder, Toronto Raptors

Schroder gets the biggest usage bump on the team with all the guys the Raptors are missing today AND he's over 1 FP/min, nearly 1.1. He's still sub-6K and has gone for 30+ DKP in four of his last five games.

Brandin Podziemski, Golden State Warriors

We saw Podziemski start the second half for the Warriors the other day when Wiggins went down and we'll see if that's the way they go again but he's been great lately. He's notched back-to-back double-doubles and 39+ DKP in those games. He's been a .96 FP/min guy with Wiggins, CP3, and Payton off the floor this year.

Malik Monk, Sacramento Kings

I understand the volatility but Monk is such a momentum-based player and he has so much of it behind him right now. Sacramento is going to need shot creation against an elite Cleveland defense and Monk is that guy. His minutes have spiked back up to 27+ in two straight games and he's put up 22+ points and 40+ DKP. Ultimate GPP upside play at this price.

Onyeka Okongwu, Atlanta Hawks

Chalk city, come on down! Coming off a monster game and now Clint Capela is out. I get wanting some Bruno Fernando exposure too, but Okongwu is where I'm going to land. He's a .95 FP/min guy without Capela this year and will have every opportunity to start at center and play monster minutes.

Cameron Johnson, Brooklyn Nets

The minutes have remained consistent lately for Johnson with Dorian Finney-Smith out and with DFS and Ben Simmons out, Johnson should see 30+ minutes. He's played 28+ in three straight games and has 28+ DKP in each game and 25+ in seven of his last eight. Brooklyn has one of the best matchups on the board.

Lonnie Walker IV, Brooklyn Nets

Even though Dennis Smith Jr. is returning here Walker's role has been super solid lately. He's played 27+ minutes in three straight games (2 with DSJ) and has 19+ actual and 28+ DKP in each. Walker's a bucket and gets on the floor to score the rock. On the year, Walker's a 25% USG and 1.04 FP/min guy.
