Darius Garland (toe) is questionable for Game 3 against the Heat on Saturday.
Garland is officially questionable with a left great big toe sprain. He could end up being a game-time decision given the high stakes of the playoffs. Ty Jerome would be a candidate to move into the starting lineup and see additional minutes if Garland is ultimately ruled out Saturday.
Darius Garland had another strong showing in Cleveland’s Game 2 win over Miami, producing 21 points (6-of-14 FGs, 7-8 FTs), two rebounds, nine assists, and two three-pointers in 32 minutes.
Garland flirted with a double-double on Wednesday night in Cleveland, coming up just an assist shy of the feat. His stellar performance, alongside Donovan Mitchell’s 30-point showing, was just the latest in the two-time All-Star’s spectacular season. The pairing will aim to put the Cavaliers in a commanding 3-0 lead when they take on the Heat in Saturday’s Game 3.
Darius Garland amassed 27 points (10-of-17 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), three rebounds, five assists, one steal and five three-pointers in 31 minutes in Sunday’s Game 1 win over the Heat.
Darius Garland (toe) and Donovan Mitchell (ankle) are out against the Pacers on Sunday.
Garland will not play in Sunday’s regular season finale after leading the Cavaliers to a win over the Knicks on Friday. Mitchell will miss a fourth-straight game with a sprained ankle, but he should be fine to begin the playoffs next weekend. Cleveland is locked into the one-seed in the East and will sit most of its rotation players on Sunday. Craig Porter Jr. and Jaylon Tyson should play plenty against the Pacers.
