Dennis Schroder tallied 18 points (6-of-9 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), five rebounds, two assists and four three-pointers in 30 minutes in Thursday’s Game 3 loss to the Knicks.
Schroder’s play on both ends of the floor is one reason why the Pistons have been highly competitive in their first postseason appearance since 2019. After scoring eight points in Game 1, he totaled 38 in Games 2 and 3, making plays on and off the ball. Also, Schroder has done a good job of defending Jalen Brunson when his name has been called, even if the Knicks point guard made some big plays down the stretch on Thursday. Schroder and the Pistons will look to even the series on Sunday when they host Game 4.
Dennis Schroder provided a boost off the bench with 20 points (6-of-10 FGs), two rebounds, three assists and three three-pointers against the Knicks in Game 2 on Monday.
Schroder came up big for Detroit in this game. Tim Hardaway Jr. and Malik Beasley combined to shoot 2-of-17 from the floor and 1-of-14 from deep, but the Pistons still walked away with a win because of Schroder. He hit a late three-pointer with the game tied at 94 to give Detroit a lead that they held onto. This came after Schroder scored just eight points in Game 1. He may not score to this level often, but the veteran guard will continue to be an important piece for the Pistons in the postseason.
Dennis Schroder had 16 points (5-of-13 FGs), four rebounds, seven assists, one steal and one three-pointer against the Raptors on Friday.
Dennis Schroder had 15 points (6-of-18 FGs), four rebounds, seven assists and one three-pointer against the Thunder on Wednesday.
Schroder started his third game in a row in the absence of Cade Cunningham (calf) Wednesday. The 31-year-old point guard didn’t have as good of a game this time around as he had just 15 points on 18 shots and seven assists after going for double-doubles in his previous two games. It’s unclear when Cunningham might return, which likely means more starts for Schroder, who is a must-roster player as long as he’s in the starting lineup.
