On Wednesday, September 25th, we have a solid nine-game MLB DFS main slate kicking off at 7:05 pm ET. There is a great mixture of aces, back-end starting pitching, and elite offensive options for today's MLB DFS picks.

MLB DFS Picks & Daily Fantasy Playbook Today, September 25

We have great pitching options as Chris Sale, Jack Flaherty, Dylan Cease, and Zac Gallen all take the hill for their respective teams tonight.

We have numerous bats to spend up on at the dish considering we have 18 teams on the main slate. Amongst the best are Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Judge, Ketel Marte, and Gunnar Henderson.

That said, let's take a look at the MLB DFS projections while we bust into our favorite MLB DFS picks today!

MLB Weather Today, 9/25

This game has a major risk of being postponed. The weather in Atlanta is awful with a hurricane in a nearby state. This has major delays/postponements written all over it.

There is a definite late start and play vibe here. There is some risk with a postponement here, but we’ll see as we get closer to roster lock.

There is some delay risk here.

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Chris Sale, Atlanta Braves

The National League Cy Young takes the mound against the team his team is trailing by one game in the standings. Get your popcorn ready. That is as good as it’s going to ever get in a playoff race. Sale’s been amazing all year and the Mets have been great against left-handed pitching. What will prevail? My vote is the soon-to-be-Cy Young.

Zac Gallen, Arizona Diamondbacks

Since the All-Star break, there have been few teams struggling more at the dish than the San Francisco Giants and that’s how Gallen has in front of him today. Gallen’s been fairly inconsistent, but September has been good for him. In 21 innings, he’s pitched to a 3.00 ERA and has an 11.6 K/9 and 31.4% K-rate. The Giants have the third-highest K-rate since the ASB vs. RHP, along with a .681 OPS, ranking 24th.

Cody Bradford, Texas Rangers

I really like this spot for the Rangers lefty Bradford as he draws a struggling Athletics offense here. Bradford has pitched well and his peripheral stats suggest he’s even been unlucky. He has a 23% K rate and is pitching a great ballpark against a struggling offense.

Over the last month, the A’s have a 25% K-rate against lefties and have just a .645 OPS, which is 19th in baseball. He’s put up 20+ DKP in three of four and I suspect he’ll make it four of five here.

Edward Cabrera, Miami Marlins

Edward Cabrera may end his year with a 5+ ERA, but his xFIP is 3.99 and SIERA is 4.28. He also has a 25% K-rate and you just don’t get pitchers at this price point with elite K-rates. He gets a lot of ground balls, too, which bodes well for him. He faces a free-falling Twins team that ranks 29th in OPS and wOBA over the last month against right-handed pitching. Cabrera is the best value pitcher on the board and it’s not close.

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters

Highest Expected Run Totals

Core MLB DFS Hitters

Ketel Marte, Corbin Carroll, Christian Walker, Arizona Diamondbacks

The matchup is as good as it's going to get for the Diamondbacks and they check in with the second-highest implied run total of the day behind the Cardinals who are in Coors. They face RHP, Mason Black, who's allowed righties to post a .253 ISO and .410 wOBA while lefties have a .175 ISO (.224 xISO) and .333 wOBA (.368 xwOBA).

In steps one of the best offenses in baseball with elite talent everywhere. Marte, Carroll, and Walker stand out above everyone else, but you can make a case for all nine players in their lineup.

Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado, Masyn Winn, Jordan Walker, St. Louis Cardinals

Over the last 90 days, Austin Gomber has struggled mightily against both splits. Righties have a .243 ISO and .368 wOBA while lefties have a .209 ISO. I have the righties listed here but I'd play the lefties too considering the matchup and park. The Cards lead the slate in implied team total.

Xavier Edwards, Otto Lopez, Jesus Sanchez, Miami Marlins

This is an interesting spot because the Marlins are really cheap and aren't an offense people will often look at, but they're actually in good form. They're top-10 in OPS, wOBA, ISO, and wRC+ against righties over the last month. Simeon Woods Richardson has struggled against lefties lately allowing a .323 ISO and .536 wOBA (30 days) but has largely gotten away with murder this year considering how many flyballs he's allowed. Marlins are sneaky MLB DFS picks.

Taylor Ward, Los Angeles Angels

Davis Martin gets a lot of groundballs…against lefties. Righties are hitting many more flyballs and his numbers don't look nearly as good against righties. Taylor Ward is the hottest hitter in the Angels lineup and has hit 21 of his 25 bombs off righties this year, posting a .189 ISO to go along with it. Overall, he's hitting .325 with an OPS over 1.000 this month.

Wyatt Langford, Texas Rangers

Although his average only sits at .233 against lefties, he's done serious damage against them and is live to homer every time he steps in the box. He has posted a .478 SLG%, .830 OPS, .244 ISO, and .351 wOBA against southpaws on the year. Righties are hitting .294 against Brady Basso in a small sample this year.

Andrew Vaughn, Lenyn Sosa, Chicago White Sox

First, it was the Marlins and now the White Sox? Yeah, I know, I'm off my rocker. Jose Suarez pitched well in his last start, yes, but for the year righties have a .208 ISO and .375 wOBA against him. Andrew Vaughn has a .175 ISO (.235 xISO) against lefties this year and Lenyn Sosa is hitting .364 over his last 10 games with two bombs. Sosa's xISO of .160 and xwOBA of .312 aren't too shabby.

ADDED - Baltimore Orioles

I'm really interested in the Orioles since the Yankees scratched Nestor Cortes and are starting Marcus Stroman. Stroman has really struggled at Yankee Stadium this year allowing 15 of his 19 homers there. He's also been bad since the All-Star break as opponents are betting .333 against him.
