Westburg got Wednesday off as the Orioles continue to give him maintenance to recover from his upper-body injury, and they won’t ask him to field the baseball for Thursday’s game. Ryan O’Hearn will get Thursday off with Westburg handling DH duties.

Westburg is going to get some rest days in the early portion of the season as he recovers from his upper body injury. The 26-year-old will take a seat with Ramon Urias handling third base and hitting ninth. Westburg should be back this weekend.

Westburg was held out Wednesday with what manager Brandon Hyde called an upper body “knock” but a couple days off seems to have done the trick. Just don’t be surprised if Westburg gets another day off for maintenance in the coming days/weeks.

Hyde said that Westburg is dealing with some “knocks” that he suffered during the series with Toronto. It sounds like his absence is purely precautionary, but it’s something fantasy managers should be cognizant of. Don’t be surprised if Westburg gets a day off here and there until the 26-year-old is closer to 100 percent.
