You’ve likely figured out where you stand in your fantasy football team. And, if your team is struggling, perhaps you would benefit more from our Week 6 Streamers article. If your team is loaded up and only upside will crack the lineup however, this article includes our deep stashes that don’t have much utility now but could have big upside if things break right down the stretch.

Maybe players have already graduated from this article to become legit waiver adds or even every week starters (like Jordan Mason). So, we’re going to keep digging through the wire looking for narratives that could pay off BIG down the stretch. That’s when it matters most for fantasy football, after all.

Best Fantasy Football Stashes For Week 6

We are ideally going to look at players that are rostered in less than 50% of leagues on Yahoo, ESPN or Sleeper Fantasy as those are the guys that are generally actually available.

We know there are leagues of varying sizes and depths so we’ll try to cover our bases. And we’ll obviously let you know what it is that makes these players the best fantasy football stashes in Week 6. So, let’s dive in!

NFL Week 6 Quarterback Stashes

Drake Maye - New England PatriotsYahoo: 3% | ESPN: 2% | Sleeper: 10%

Folks who are familiar with this article know that Drake Maye has been a regular here. This week, with news that the Patriots are finally considering a QB change, he graduated to the main Waiver Wire article so check out the full write up there. But the sentiment on why we are stashing him has not changed from previous weeks.

Matthew Stafford, QB, Los Angeles RamsYahoo: 44% | ESPN: 26% | Sleeper: 37%

Matthew Stafford is still rostered in a good chunk of leagues. But we expect him to hit the wire in a few leagues after a mediocre performance heading into the bye week. And, as he’s on bye, that makes him a guy you can only stash right now. Rumors have been swirling that star wide receiver Cooper Kupp could be back after the bye week.

We’ve seen these two essentially win a Super Bowl together without much help, but the hope is that Puka Nacua will always rejoin the team at some point down the line. Stafford looks fine out there throwing the football, but the weapons leave something to be desired so he’s a bench stash until some of his stars return.

NFL Week 6 Running Back Stashes

Braelon Allen, RB, New York JetsYahoo: 47%| ESPN: 42% | Sleeper: 58%

He’s right on that 50% fringe but we’ll continue to mention him in this article (as we have for weeks and weeks now). He’s honestly gotten himself into “handcuff plus” territory but he remains one of the best fantasy football stashes as well.

Blake Corum, RB, Los Angeles RamsYahoo: 17%| ESPN: 20% | Sleeper: 24%

This is what we were waiting for - some signs of life. Corum briefly appeared in the Arizona game Week 2 then wasn’t season again until this week. He not only logged five carries  for 25 yards but caught a pass for 8. And, more importantly Ronnie Rivers was completely absent from this one.

The Rams go into their bye week this week so he’s definitely only a stash. But Sean McVay has a history of leaning heavily on whoever his starting back is. If Kyren Williams misses time, that should be Corum.

Ray Davis, RB, Buffalo BillsYahoo: 8%| ESPN: 7% | Sleeper: 14%

The usage for Ray Davis took a bit of a dive here as he did not register a carry for the first time this year. Honestly, he wasn’t super efficient on the carries he was getting. But that doesn’t change the reality that Ty Johnson is not built for an early down/power role so, if something happens to James Cook, Davis will likely be taking over that starting gig.

Keaton Mitchell, RB, Baltimore RavensYahoo: 8%| ESPN: 4% | Sleeper: 11%

Mitchell was a selection in our best fantasy football stashes article last week with a fairly simple thought process. This rushing attack with Derrick Henry has been incredible. Justice Hill is a good complimentary piece but he’s not built for the big workload.

Keaton Mitchell remains out for the time being. John Harbaugh has said that he is “on schedule” but still not close to returning so he’s a true late season stash. The beauty of Mitchell of course is that he can be hidden away in an IR spot, if you have one.

NFL Week 6 Wide Receiver Stashes

Ja'Lynn Polk - New England PatriotsYahoo: 8% | ESPN: 13% | Sleeper: 17%

We wrote about him in the main waiver wire article but he’s primarily a stash. He played every single snap this week. And we want to see what it looks like when Drake Maye gets to play. That makes guys like Demario Douglas and Kendrick Bourne also guys to keep an eye on.

This Drake Maye offense will reportedly look different than the Jacoby Brissett one to fit the “run and gun” quarterback style. That could shake up the target pecking order.

Jalen McMillan - Tampa Bay BuccaneersYahoo: 2%| ESPN: 2% | Sleeper: 9%

Think about what Jauan Jennings did. One of the wide receivers got hurt in a highly consolidated offense. He stepped in and put up big numbers. Then he went back to being the third guy.

But we got some great production out of him in the meantime. That’s what Jalen McMillan can be if one of Chirs Godwin or Mike Evans goes down. But he’s not rostered in 75% of Sleeper leagues the way Jauan Jennings is. Far fewer.

Roman Wilson - Pittsburgh SteelersYahoo: 2%| ESPN: 1% | Sleeper: 7%

No change here from last week with Roman Wilson. The third round rookie draft pick still needs to learn the offense and get up to speed following the injury. But we’d like to see what that might look like when he does get a chance to actually play. Van Jefferson and Calvin Austin have not been impressive so there is room for opportunity there.

NFL Week 6 Tight End Stashes

*For those looking for it, our updated Yin & Yang Tight End chart is in our Week 6 Waiver Wire Article

Hunter Henry - New England PatriotsYahoo: 30% | ESPN: 24% | Sleeper: 29%

If you check the Waiver Wire article, we are still looking to stash Hunter Henry at least. There are rumors swirling that a QB change is looming, and we at least want to see what that looks like.

Hayden Hurst - Los Angeles ChargersYahoo: 1% | ESPN: 5% | Sleeper: 4%

The volume has been insanely low so far for the Los Angeles Chargers. And they could simply just be a super run-heavy team for the entire year. But Hayden Hurst does have a 71% route participation while running 70% of his routes from a WR spot.

And his 10.8% target share is actually higher than the 10.3% target share for Sam LaPorta. So, we’re going to keep an eye on Hurst in case this team actually starts throwing.

Ben Sinnott - Washington CommandersYahoo: 3%| ESPN: 2% | Sleeper: 13%

Here is what we wrote on Hurst in the main article:

“This is more of a deep league or dynasty add. For most folks, it’s simply a ‘watch list’. But we have to remember that last year Trey McBride actually started picking up snaps BEFORE Zach Ertz was ruled out. So we’re keeping an eye on Sinnott here to see how things develop.

Zach Ertz has been getting a lot of targets. And he hasn’t done a whole lot with them. At a certain point the Commanders might decide it’s time to see what the athletic TE they took in the second round of the NFL Draft can do.

Or maybe Ertz goes down with an injury once again - he is 33 years old. We expect that Sinnott would leapfrog John Bates into a pass-catching role as we mentioned above.”

Why Do We Stash?

Obviously, it would be nice if our entire roster was just chock full of stars. Maybe your lineup is (some of my dynasty leagues certainly are). But, for most of us, there will be holes. That’s why we highlight the Top Waiver Wire Adds each week as well as the Best Streamers to get you by.

The best fantasy football stashes though? These are the guys that win you the title. That came out of the woodworks down the stretch like rookie Odell Beckham. or Amon-Ra St. Brown. And it’s our job to find them BEFORE they break out!
