2024 Player Outlook
Brissett returns to New England and early consensus is that he will be the starting QB for the Patriots, at least to start the season as the team used the third overall pick on Drake Maye during the NFL Draft. Brissett has certainly had his moments as a starting QB in the NFL. He looked good for Cleveland while they waited out the Deshaun Watson suspension in 2022 and last year for the Commanders he completed 78% of his passes for 224 yards and three touchdowns in his limited playing time. Should you draft Brissett this year? In a SuperFlex or two-QB league, as long as he is the starter, sure, but I would only do it out of a complete necessity as the floor here is really low.

Cardinals agreed to terms with QB Jacoby Brissett, formerly of the Patriots,
Jacoby Brissett did not play any snaps in the Patriots’ Week 18 win over the Bills.
Brissett will finish the season completing 95-of-161 passes for 826 yards on a 59 percent completion rate with two touchdowns and one interception while appearing in eight games. Brissett also took 18 sacks in the eight games he played. The 32-year-old lacks mobility at this stage in his career and didn’t seem capable of pushing the ball down the field much this season; however, he turned the ball over just twice in eight games, which is what New England wanted from him. Brissett’s intelligence makes him a game-manager type quarterback that coaches tend to love as a backup and that could help him find another job now that his contract with New England has expired. Yet, he lacks any fantasy upside, even if he were to land with a team where there was some potential for playing time.
Jacoby Brissett completed 15-of-24 passes for 132 yards in the Patriots’ 25-22, Week 8 win over the Jets, adding three carries for 11 yards.
Forced into action following a second quarter Drake Maye concussion, Brissett was brutalized by drops from the Pats’ awful skill corps, but he kept converting massive third downs against the Jets’ strong defense. That was the story of the real life game. In fantasy, no one produced useful box scores as Brissett and Maye spread the ball around amongst their limited weapons. All attention now turns to Maye’s Week 9 health against the Titans. Brissett would be well off the streaming radar were Maye to sit.
Jacoby Brissett completed 18-of-34 attempts for 159 yards in the Patriots’ Week 5 loss against the Dolphins, adding one rush for ten yards.
Brissett was sacked twice and pressured early and often by an aggressive Miami front seven. After earning head coach Jerod Mayo’s endorsement this week, Brissett continued making poor throws and created almost nothing out of structure for a stuck-in-the-mud New England offense. Brissett still has not throw for more than 168 yards in a game this season. He’ll take on the Texans in Week 6.
