NBA DFS Picks, Projections, Lineups, Injuries & More Today: Wednesday Playbook

Luka Doncic is good. He's not even making shots and he's still gone for 60+ DKP in four straight. He's shot better than 40% ONCE over that span and he went for 71 DKP.

I cannot believe we're here, but we're here. Without PG, Embiid and Maxey, Grimes has a 32.6% USG and is averaging 1.33 FP/min. Grimes has scored 25+ points in five straight games and is coming off 46 and 13 last time out..against Houston..on a back-to-back. No Lu Dort to stall him, possibly no Cason Wallace either.

Castle has been solid, nothing special, but we know there's a solid ceiling. without Wemby and Fox this year, Castle has a 26.6% USG and averages 1.03 FP/min. The spot is definitely average because the Knicks are better defensively with McBride in the lineup vs. Brunson.

Scoot hasn't been great but hasn't been bad. The one thing we've definitely loved has been the minutes as he's topped 30 in five straight games. With Jerami Grant and a bunch of their other rotation pieces out, he's going to just be on the floor. They could also be without Toumani Camara today too. This is a GREAT paced game for Portland.

Chalk central today, but it's a great play. Johnson was a first-round pick that the Bucks dealt in the Kyle Kuzma trade and he started and played 33 minutes last time out. With all the injuries the Wizards have, they're going to start and play him big minutes again here. Lock and load and move again against the lowly Jazz.

Update - Jordan Poole and Marcus Smart are now available to play. We'll see if Johnson remains in the starting lineup.

Anthony Edwards is absolutely on one right now. He's posted a 36% USG or better in two straight games and has 38+ actual points in those games. This game staying competitive is obviously the top concern, but the matchup is undeniable. New Orleans is dead last in DRtg this year.

Portland has been a league-average defense this month and Desmond Bane is playing extremely well, so what will give? Bane, without Morant this year, has a 25.3% USG and is averaging 1.28 FP/min. Profiles best in GPPs.

With who's out or traded in Phoenix, Devin Booker leads the team with 1.24 FP/min and is second in USG at 27.4%. Chicago's improved defensively in March ranking 8th in that category, but this is still a big time pace up spot and the Bulls don't exactly profile as a great defensive team.

Austin Reaves has been flat out bawlin'. That's really that. Absolutely bawlin. Without LBJ, AD, or DLo this year, he has a 32.5% USG and averages 1.5 FP/min. It's a great matchup against Denver too.

I haven't lost a lot of money by not clicking on Mikal Bridges a lot this year but he's definitely been better with Jalen Brunson out of the lineup of late. On the year, he has a 21.7% USG and averages .87 FP/min without Brunson. That's ticked up slightly too as he's had a 23% USG or better in three straight. Spurs rank LAST in DRtg in March and since Wemby went down.

If Cason Wallace plays through his shoulder ailment, I have a ton of interest here. The team is already without SGA, JDub, Lu Dort, and Isaiah Hartenstein is questionable. Wallace has been hoopin' lately putting up 28+ DKP in three of four and has done that in five straight he's played at least 29 minutes in.

There's not a long list of Knicks with great numbers sans Jalen Brunson but Josh Hart is one of them. He's very good per minute at 1.08. He's coming off a triple-double and gets the worst defense in basketball here. Really good spot.

It's so funny how sour grapes people are on Deni Avdija from one slate to the next. He, like most of the starters, didn't close and were limited in a game they were comfortably winning by 20 in the 4th quarter. The Blazers listed Grant as DOUBT and already ruled Ayton, Williams, and Walker out and Camara is Q. With all of those players off the floor, Avdija has a 1.12 FP/min average and a 22.3% USG. 

Wiggins' role has changed from game to game but when his number is called upon, he delivers. With JDub, Dort, and SGA out, we should see Wiggins enter the starting lineup. With those three players off the floor, Aaron Wiggins sees an 8.8% USG bump up to 28.7% and averages 1.14 FP/min. iHart and Wallace are also Q, so it really could be the Wiggins and Chet Holmgren show here.

Ryan Dunn did it again. He had a 33% USG against the Raptors and took a boatload of shots. He was trending towards 30 minutes if he didn't lose time in blowout, too. Beal, Allen, and Plumdog are all out. Dunn's minutes are secure. Love the low-ownership here.

With all their injuries, Durant leads them in USG and is 2nd in FP/min. The Bulls have been better defensively lately, but we know what the ceiling can be for KD.

Washington has finally committed fully to the tank. Middleton, Smart, Brogdon, Kispert are out and Jordan Poole is doubtful. Martin was in the first subs last time out and played the final 15 minutes of the game. He's going to be very popular against Utah and even has the opportunity to start.

Update - Jordan Poole and Marcus Smart are now available to play. This likely hurts Jaylen Martin's playing time. With Kyshawn George out, Martin,. Justin Champagnie, or Colby Jones are most likely to start.

It's only a 60-minute sample, but with the combination of all the guys out and traded, Washington's around a 27% USG and is 1.05 FP/min. He had a 35% USG in his return and played 32 minutes. The minutes should ramp up and against Indy, who's 19th in DRtg in March and both teams are top-12 in pace.

There is very little sample size on Holmgren without SGA, JDub, and Dort, but on the year as a whole, Chet Holmgren has a 22% USG and averages 1.3 FP/min on the year. He could have the team to himself if iHart sits and faces Philly who ranks 27th in DRtg this month.

OG's up to a 21% USG and 1 FP/min without Jalen Brunson this year and the matchup is GREAT. I like Anunoby in tournaments here because I really like the Knicks in general.

Sochan sits right around 1 FP/min this year without Wemby and Fox and the minutes are trending in the right direction. He's played 26+ in two straight and 24+ in three of four. Sochan has 26+ DKP in three of four too.

Obligatory Nikola Jokic inclusion in the NBA DFS playbook. Not my top spend, but one of the top guys on the short list.

My favorite center of the day is KAT. Without Jalen Brunson this year, Towns has a 32.9% USG and averages 1.57 FP/min. His price has dropped and the knee that was clearly bothering him is starting to look healthier as the days go on. The Spurs rank dead last in DRtg this month while ranking 26th in points in the paint allowed and 28th in 2nd chance points.

If iHart suits up, he's great. Per dollar, arguably the best play at the position. He's highly projected in terms of ownership as well.

Alex Sarr has been really good in fantasy lately posting 37+ DKP in three straight and four of five overall. He's been at 34+ in six of seven overall. He has an impressive usage and has piled up stats. It's a great spot for him here.

With LeBron James, D'Angelo Russell, and Anthony Davis off the floor this year, Hayes has been massively productive from a FP/min standpoint. He's sitting at 1 FP/min without those players.
