Justin Champagnie led the Wizards with 22 points (9-of-15 FGs), 14 rebounds, one assist, three steals, one block and three three-pointers in a 119-89 loss to the Bulls on Friday.
The double-double streak stayed alive for Champagnie as he finished with at least 10 points and 10 rebounds for a fourth-straight game on Friday. This tied his season-high for rebounds and was his highest-scoring performance since he scored 31 points in a loss to the Knicks in December. Champagnie should continue to play a significant role for Washington in their season finale in Miami on Sunday, though it’s unclear what his role will look like next year with a healthy Wizards team.
Justin Champagnie recorded 14 points (5-of-12 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), 12 rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block in 38 minutes in Wednesday’s loss to the 76ers.
Champagnie extended his double-double streak to three games on Wednesday, continuing to provide solid value as part of the Wizards’ starting lineup. With little reason for the Wizards to put Khris Middleton back on the court this season, Champagnie’s place in the starting lineup appears secure for the final two games. He is worth rostering in active leagues. AJ Johnson (7/4/3 with one three-pointer) is also worth a look, despite shooting poorly (1-of-11 FGs) against the 76ers.
Justin Champagnie recorded a double-double on Tuesday with 20 points (8-of-13 FGs), 13 rebounds and four three-pointers against the Pacers.
Champagnie has been a regular starter for the Wizards over the past month, but this two-game stretch was the first time he has recorded back-to-back double-doubles this season. His role has been inconsistent throughout the year, but Champagnie ranks inside the top 100 in nine-cat scoring over the past month. He should continue to be a productive option over Washington’s final three games of the season, but it is difficult to imagine him continuing to have this level of success early next season.
Justin Champagnie accounted for 15 points (6-of-11 FGs), 13 rebounds, one assist, two steals and three three-pointers in 36 minutes in Sunday’s loss to the Celtics.
