Welcome to another day of MLB DFS here at Fantasy Alarm. We get a solid 9-game main slate on both DraftKings and FanDuel kicking off at 1:35 PM EST.

This Sunday matchup has some very interesting matchups with just two pitchers priced over $9,000 and some of our favorite pitchers to stack hitters against on this main slate.

MLB Weather: Today, 4/29

Kansas City Royals vs Detroit Tigers

  • Rain in the area that could cause a delayed start but more rain coming later that could also cause an in-game delay. With these two teams being divisional opponents it's possible that they opt not to get this one in. Will need to monitor as we approach roster lock.

Tampa Bay Rays vs Chicago White Sox

  • Another game with rain in the area but this one less likely to make an impact.

MLB DFS Lineup Construction Thoughts

This is a slate loaded with offenses in great matchups with the Dodgers, Braves and Orioles on the main slate. With only Tarik Skubal and Marcus Stroman priced above $9,000 there will certainly be some value and mid-tier pitchers in our lineups today that will help us spend of for those big offenses this afternoon.

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Albert Suarez, Baltimore Orioles

The journeyman is off to a strong start with the Orioles this season, tossing 11.1 scoreless innings with nine strikeouts. The O's offense is one of the leagues top units and should put Suarez in a good position to pick up the victory here today against the Oakland Athletics.

Marcus Stroman, New York Yankees

All about the win equity here. Stroman has one of the best odds today to get the win with the Yankees heavy favorites against the Milwaukee Brewers. The numbers for Stroman haven't been spectacular over his last few outings but we've gotten an unexpected uptick in strikeouts which has helped his fantasy upside.

If I had any hesitations here it would be the lefty heavy lineup that the Brewers are going to be fielding as Stroman is allowing a .388 wOBA and a slugging percentage of .515 against lefties this season.

Bryce Elder, Atlanta Braves

Elder looked great in his season debut against the Miami Marlins, tossing 6.2 innings of shutout baseball with four strikeouts. Today's matchup against the Guardians is an interesting one because Elder has the best win odds on the board today but the Guardians offense has started to turn up a bit. They don't strikeout which isn't something Elder is known for anyhow and rank in the middle of the league when it comes to wOBA and batting average against right-handed pitching.

Zack Littell, Tampa Bay Rays

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. Well, I guess I'm insane because after taking a beating the last two slates with Rays starters against the Chicago White Sox I go back to the well today with Littell. Again, the White Sox offense this season ranks dead last in wOBA, second to last in batting average and second to last in ISO against right-handed pitching. Lets see if Littell can get it done after Eflin and Civale could not.

Patrick Corbin, Washington Nationals

Before you yell at me, first hear me out. Today Corbin faces the Miami Marlins who, as a team, rank last in ISO, 2nd to last in wOBA and 27th in batting average against left-handed pitching. One of their best hitters against lefties is Jake Burger and he is still on the IL. Corbin is also coming off 5.2 shutout innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Maybe he rides that momentum into one of the best matchups on the board for lefties this season and can squeak us out 15  fantasy points as the lowest priced pitcher on the slate?

Note: Will Be Updated as Official Starting Lineups Are Released

Elly De La Cruz, Cincinnati Reds

He's the cover of today's playbook so you knew he was going to be right here int he Core Plays section. Elly is a lightning rod that can get it done with both his power and stolen base upside. Today he faces Dane Dunning who is a righty meaning Elly is on his strong side as he is hitting .310 with a .397 ISO and .477 wOBA against righties this season. A righty on the mound also makes it that much easier for him to steal bases.

Max Muncy, 3B Los Angeles Dodgers

I don't really know what to do with Kevin Gausman right now. I believe he is talented, we've seen him be an elite starting pitcher but the results just are not there to start the year. Muncy homered the other night and is on a bit of a hot streak and this is a player that you absolutely need to ride these runs because he is just as likely to go 0-for-32 once he cools down.

Eloy Jimenez, OF Chicago White Sox

If you are fading Zack Littell today it's because you are worried with how the White Sox have handled the Rays staff this series and if that is the case then you might as well plug in a cheap Eloy Jimenez into your lineup. Jimenez has three homers over the last seven games with seven RBI. When healthy, he is not a player that should be this cheap.
