Week 9 of the NFL season has arrived and we have one of the biggest slates of the year with 12 games on DraftKings and 13 games over on FanDuel.

Week 8 was a pretty interesting week in fantasy football and Week 9 is shaping up to be even better as we have some top tier QB's in some really great spots to take advantage of, notably, the cover player Jalen Hurts who is fresh off of a 35 fantasy point day has a home matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

As with every week, this week, we once again look to take advantage of some top matchups for our NFL DFS Week 9 QB coach as I bring you my NFL DFS Week 9 QB coach top targets, values and fades to build your lineups around this weekend.

Jameis Winston27.565.2QB5.3Value5
Baker Mayfield27.37.1QB3.8Fade6

So, the value tier absolutely smashed with Bo Nix and Jameis Winston finishing top five in scoring. We also loved Jalen Hurts last week and he was the top overall scoring QB.

With Kirk Cousins I said he probably wasn't going to throw for 500 yards and four touchdowns again and I was half right as Cousins only threw for 276 yards this time around but he still threw another four touchdown passes.

Unfortunately for fantasy players, the Cousins no longer has any matchups against the Buccaneers this season.

In that same game I said to fade Baker Mayfield, and, well, that was a mistake. Even without Mike Evans and Chris Godwin we saw Mayfield throw all over the Falcons defense.

Jordan Love got injured and Caleb Williams was hot trash in his battle against Jayden Daniels.

NFL DFS Week 9 QB Coach For FanDuel & DraftKings Fantasy

Week 9 of the fantasy football season has some key QB matchups to target, especially in the matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Falcons as both pass defenses have been shoddy this season and we are looking at a slate high 52 game total here in this one. Both Dak Prescott and Kirk Cousins are priced nicely on this slate and should make for popular stacks.

We also have a few games with totals of 48.5 as the Rams take on the Seahawks and the Lions face off against the Packers.

NFL DFS QB Top Tier Picks For Week 9

Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens - DraftKings: $8,000 | FanDuel: $8,900

No real reason to go against Lamar Jackson. Sure, the Broncos defense has been pretty good this season but the Ravens are home and Jackson just took on a good Browns defense and threw for 289 yards and two scores while adding nearly 50 yards rushing. On DraftKings he is the top priced QB but on FanDuel he is your third priced QB behind Jalen Hurts and Josh Allen.

Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills - DraftKings: $7,700 | FanDuel: $9,000

I know that Josh Allen doesn't have great numbers against the Miami Dolphins and earlier this year in Miami he was pretty bad but with Amari Cooper in town and Keon Coleman showing why the Bills drafted him in the second round I am more bullish on Allen in a home start this week against the Dolphins.

Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals - DraftKings: $6,900 | FanDuel: $7,900

Burrow is a decent discount on FanDuel where he ranks out as the eighth-highest priced QB on the slate while being the sixth-highest priced QB on DraftKings. As long as he has Ja'Marr Chase there is a chance for Burrow to be among the scoring leaders at the position and this home matchup against the Raiders is certainly inviting.

NFL DFS QB Mid-Tier Picks For NFL Week 9

Kirk Cousins, Atlanta Falcons - DraftKings: $6,400 | FanDuel: $7,500

So, eight of Cousins 14 touchdowns this season have come against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Some will use that against Cousins when evaluating his seasonal production because he's only throw six touchdowns with six interceptions over his other six starts this season. While those numbers are certainly a bit concerning, we also know he now draws a matchup against a Dallas Cowboys defense that has been really bad against the pass this season. With playmakers in Drake London, Kyle Pitts and Darnell Mooney at his disposal, I'm looking for Cousins to find solid form here this week at home.

Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys - DraftKings: $6,300 | FanDuel: $8,100

On the flip side of that matchup against the Falcons we have Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys. The Falcons defense just allowed Baker Mayfield to throw all over them without a healthy Mike Evans or Chris Godwin.

This week they need to deal with Ceedee Lamb, Jalen Tolbert and Jake Ferguson

Yes, Dak and the Cowboys offense have not really played well this season but this could be the matchup that sets them on the right track and Dak is really cheap on DraftKings this week.

Sam Darnold, Minnesota Vikings - FanDuel: $7,500

The Vikings are on the SNF slate which means he is on the FanDuel slate for DFS. Minnesota is expected to  get T.J. Hockenson back on the field here this week which will add to a potent passing attack that already features Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison as they take on a bad Colts secondary.

NFL Week 9 DFS QB Value Picks

Bo Nix, Denver Broncos - DraftKings: $5,900 | FanDuel: $7,200

He made the value section last weekend and I suggested that you can play him “naked” which means no wide receiver attached and he went out and threw for a career best 284 yards and three touchdowns against a bad Panthers defense.

This week he will have another test as he goes on the road to face the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens pass defense has actually been pretty bad this season so we will have another chance for Nix to prove that he is developing into a solid NFL QB.

Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams - DraftKings: $5,700 | FanDuel: $7,600

Stafford and the Rams passing attack looked rejuvenated with Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp back in the lineup and if we are going to start to see the Rams passing offense take flight hen it is only a matter of time before Stafford's DFS price starts to rise.

Jameis Winston, Cleveland Browns - DraftKings: $5,400 | FanDuel: $$7,000

Winston's first start as a Brown went as well as we all hoped as he took on a Ravens defense that has struggled and he threw all over them, totaling 334 yards and two touchdowns with both scores going to Cedric Tillman. Winston has a tougher matchup this week but he is still home and the Chargers have historically not been a team that travels well.

Joe Flacco, Indianapolis Colts - FanDuel: $7,000

FanDuel includes the Sunday Night Football slate and we now have Joe Flacco has the starting QB for the Colts with Anthony Richardson being benched. We know Flacco can still sling it and he was a great DFS option for the few weeks he filled in for the injured Richardson earlier this season.

NFL DFS QB Fades For Week 9

Derek Carr, New Orleans Saints - DraftKings: $5,600 | FanDuel: $7,000

Yes, the Panthers defense is horrific. Yes, we just saw Bo Nix light up the Carolina secondary. But, I think this game is going to be all about Alvin Kamara and while Carr is expected to return and he will have Chris Olave as his top receiver, I just don't think I'm going to full go all in here, knowing how bad the Panthers are at stopping the run.

NFL Week 9 QB Play Of The Week

Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles - DraftKings: $7,800 | FanDuel: $9,300

Obviously Hurts is my play of the week. He is the cover of the NFL QB Coach and this week as he draws a home matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Last week we saw Hurts lead in fantasy points scored as he scored three rushing touchdowns while throwing for another.

Hurts now has five rushing touchdowns over the last two weeks and seven touchdowns in total.
