Best Fantasy Football Stashes Ahead Of Week 14: Backups, Waiver Wire, More

We are getting down to crunch time here folks. So, the time for traditional fantasy football stashing is likely over. Most guys that were going to naturally carve out a role have done so already.
So, we’re looking at playoff matchups. And we’re looking at handcuffs. Let’s break down what is out there.
Best Fantasy Football Stashes For Week 14
We are ideally going to look at players that are rostered in less than 50% of leagues on Yahoo, ESPN or Sleeper Fantasy as those are the guys that are generally actually available.
We know there are leagues of varying sizes and depths, so we’ll try to cover our bases. And we’ll obviously let you know what it is that makes these players the best fantasy football stashes in Week 14. So, let’s dive in!
NFL Week 14 Quarterback Stashes
Will Levis - Tennessee Titans, Yahoo: 12% | ESPN: 5% | Sleeper: 17%
If you are worried about your starter getting hurt or having bad matchups, Will Levis does not have any back matchups. He gets the Jaguars, the Bengals, the Titans, and the Jaguars again. And he’s been pretty decent for fantasy football as of late.
Drake Maye, QB, New England Patriots, Yahoo: 16% | ESPN: 4% | Sleeper: 26%
Drake Maye is on bye week this week. So not only can’t be started but he’ll likely be dropped in a few leagues. Mobile rookie quarterbacks offer a level of upside that you just can’t get from some of these journeymen pocket passers. Not a bad player to keep in the back pocket.
- Honorable Mention: Bryce Young, Justin Fields, Trey Lance
NFL Week 14 Running Back Stashes
Blake Corum, RB, Los Angeles Rams, Yahoo: 14%| ESPN: 14% | Sleeper: 20%
Not only has Corum been our top stash but he actually got a few extra looks this week after Kyren Williams has had some fumbling issues. Williams responded in a big way so Corum likely isn’t in handcuff plus territory. But the premise has not changed. If Kyren goes down, Corum immediately becomes the top option.
Trey Benson - Arizona Cardinals Yahoo: 27% | ESPN: 28% | Sleeper: 35%
We’ve written this one in here for virtually the entire season. And now the time is almost here. If anything happens to James Conner, the Cardinals have a great schedule for running the football in fantasy playoffs. Patriots, Panthers, Rams.
Jeremy McNichols - Jacksonville Jaguars Yahoo: 15% | ESPN: 11% | Sleeper: 15%
Austin Ekeler is done for fantasy football purposes. He can return Week 18. So, it’s the oft-injured Brian Robinson Jr and Jeremy McNichols at the top of the depth chart now.
Don’t worry about Chris Rodriguez - he didn’t do virtually any of his damage until the fourth quarter when the game was out of hand. He might have some standalone value, but the Commanders are on bye this week so he’s a stash for now.
- Honorable Mentions: Tank Bigsby, Keaton Mitchell, Ray Davis, Braelon Allen, Jaylen Wright, Marshawn Lloyd, Khalil Herbert
NFL Week 14 Wide Receiver Stashes
Xavier Leggette - Carolina Panthers, Yahoo: 27% | ESPN: 36% | Sleeper: 47%
We’ve got a first-round pick rookie here. One that has carved himself out a full-time role as an outside WR in the NFL. And all of a sudden, his quarterback, Bryce Young, is starting to look like he turned a corner. That’s usually the recipe for late season breakouts if they are going to happen.
Kayshon Boutte - New England Patriots, Yahoo: 4% | ESPN: 3% | Sleeper: 7%
We’re still hoping that SOMEONE can emerge over in New England. We like the QB. Hunter Henry has looked good. Demario Douglas and Kendrick Bourne have been fine. But when is this team going to see what they actually have in guys like Boutte, Ja'Lynn Polk, and Javon Baker? Hopefully down the stretch they let these guys ball.
Ricky Pearsall - San Francisco 49ers, Yahoo: 23%| ESPN: 21% | Sleeper: 38%
When Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel were healthy, Jauan Jennings was the part time slot guy. And, when one of them was hurt, he’d come in and play a full-time role. That’s how he had the three-touchdown game. And it’s how he got his current role with Aiyuk out.
Ricky Pearsall is now in that Jennings role which means he’s one injury away from a top spot. This offense uses the fullback, so the targets end up being highly consolidated among the top two pass-catchers.
- Honorable Mentions: Jalen McMillan, DeVaughn Vele, Dontayvion Wicks, Ja'Lynn Polk, Kevin Austin
NFL Week 14 Tight End Stashes
*For those looking for it, our updated Yin & Yang Tight End chart is in our Week 14 Waiver Wire Article
Ja'Tavion Sanders - Carolina Panthers, Yahoo: 2% | ESPN: 1% | Sleeper: 8%
It stinks that Ja'Tavion Sanders got hurt just when the team seemed like they were going to lean into him. Even with Tommy Tremble back, he was targeted three times and caught all three early in the game before hurting his neck. He could be back this week and maybe he picks up right where he left off.
Greg Dulcich - New York Giants, Yahoo: 0% | ESPN: 0% | Sleeper: 0%
We said to stash Dulcich in very deep leagues last week when he was a free agent. Then he got picked up by the New York Giants. Then Theo Johnson was put on IR. As far as getting released in Week 13 of the NFL goes, I’m not sure you could come up with better conditions to actually do something.
- Honorable Mentions: Ben Sinnott, Elijah Higgins, Brenton Strange, Dawson Knox
Why Do We Stash?
Obviously, it would be nice if our entire roster was just chock full of stars. Maybe your lineup is (some of my dynasty leagues certainly are). But, for most of us, there will be holes. That’s why we highlight the Top Waiver Wire Adds each week as well as the Best Streamers to get you by.
The best fantasy football stashes though? These are the guys that win you the title. That came out of the woodworks down the stretch like rookie Odell Beckham. or Amon-Ra St. Brown. And it’s our job to find them BEFORE they break out!
Player News
Jets QB Jordan Travis retired from the NFL after one season.
Travis suffered a catastrophic ankle injury late in his final season at Florida State in 2023. The Jets took a shot on him in the fifth round of the draft, but Travis suffered a setback in his recovery and did not play as a rookie. In his statement via the team, Travis said his leg never responded the way he had hoped and the medical staff advised him to return. It’s a sad ending for a player who had a future in the NFL before his tragic injury.
Packers have exercised DT Devonte Wyatt’s fifth-year team option for 2026.
The 27-year-old, who was the 28th overall pick in 2022, has played in 47 games in three seasons with the Packers, recording 12.5 sacks, including five in 2024. Wyatt, who will make $13.9 million in 2026 (per OverTheCap), was the Packers’ highest-graded defensive lineman last season, per PFF.
Ravens will not exercise the fifth-year option on C Tyler Linderbaum.
The two-time Pro Bowler would have made $23.4 million if his option was picked up. “It is our intention for (Linderbaum) to remain a Baltimore Raven long term,” said team EVP and general manger Eric DeCosta on Wednesday. “I’ll let my agent handle that,” Linderbaum said about his contract on April 21. “I’m just focusing on becoming as good of a football player as I can be for this team. [I’m] coming in here every day and putting my best foot forward. Let all the other things take care of itself.” Linderbaum, who was the 25th overall pick in 2022, has started in all 49 games played with the Ravens since his arrival.
Ravens exercised the fifth-year option for S Kyle Hamilton.
Hamilton is now locked up through the 2026 season, with the Ravens likely to hash out a longer-term extension with the outstanding safety in the coming months. Pro Football Focus graded Hamilton as the league’s fourth best cover safety in 2024. He’s served as a critical part of one of the NFL’s best coverage units over his three pro seasons. He has five interceptions and 28 passes defended over those three seasons.
The Vikings have agreed to terms with undrafted free agent WR Myles Price.
The 23-year old Price played four seasons at Texas Tech before transferring to Indiana in 2024. He caught 38 passes for 466 yards with three touchdowns in his final collegiate season. His 289 punt return yards ranked fifth most in FBS in 2024, while he forced a Power 4-best 24 missed tackles on punt returns per Pro Football Focus.
Falcons exercised the fifth-year option for WR Drake London.
London, who will turn 24 in July, is locked up for the 2026 season. London has been superb through his first three NFL seasons: Justin Jefferson and Ja’Marr Chase were the only other two wideouts to average more than 12 yards per catch on 100 receptions in 2024. London was third in receiving yards and seventh in receptions last season, quickly becoming a target hog with Michael Penix under center for Atlanta. London should be viewed as a top-5 fantasy receiver going into 2025.
