NBA DFS Picks, Projections, Lineups, Injuries & More Today: Wednesday Playbook

I mean, listen, if we are getting SGA at under 5% on a large slate he has the upside to be a tournament winner. He's not too far removed from a 74 fantasy point effort and Chet Holmgren is out of the lineup this evening against the Heat.

He loves this rivalry matchup against the Knicks, especially in Madison Square Garden. In truth, we aren't big “narrative” guys here but the play on the court also speaks for itself when it comes to Trae Young of late.

I've been loving me some Warriors lately, rostering both Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler over the last few slates. The Warriors are pretty shorthanded today and may get even thinner if PJ Washington isn't able to suit up but I still don't mind locking down Curry in tournaments at this price tag when he's going for 50+ fantasy points in each of the last three games.

We expected him to be popular tonight due to the matchup and he is so which version of Haliburton shows up? Last night he had just 33 fantasy points. A few games earlier against Portland he took three total shots. Around those performances are a bunch of games over 40 FP. This matchup rarely leads to floor performances for the opponent so we should trust in Haliburton tonight.

Flip side, we had chalky Poole the other day and we all drowned. Go back to the well tonight with his 20+ shot attempt upside here against a Pacers team on a back-to-back.

The Trail Blazers are shorthanded tonight with Scoot Henderson already ruled out along with Deandre Ayton and a questionable Jerami Grant. This should lock Simons in for something north of 35 minutes and plenty of shot attempts even if the game gets out of hand.

No Beal, Booker or Grayson Allen tonight for the Suns and while the matchup against the Rockets isn't going to be a walk in the park, the minutes and opportunity for Jones with the ball in his hand will be there at a pretty decent price tag.

Starting at point guard for the Hornets tonight. Payton was really good in his spot starts for the Pelicans earlier this season. This is not an easy matchup but he has a good shot to fill up the stat sheet at min-price.

Tyrese Maxey has been ruled out tonight for the 76ers.  Butler operated as the backup point guard last night and had a huge night off the bench. Expectations are that he will start tonight for the 76ers.

Three straight games of 40+ actual points scored for Edwards. He is questionable with a knee injury but assuming he suits up he will have a really fun time taking on this Bucks team that is trending down in defense with Giannis Antetokounmpo off of the floor.

Cover the playbook today. The dude can be an absolute flamethrower and the Kings are not a great defensive team. The Pelicans could be without Zion Williamson tonight who is questionable due to “conditioning” but either way, I like me some Murphy as a high upside GPP play.

The scoring numbers are starting to come around and we already know he can fill the stat sheet with rebounds, assists and elite defensive numbers. The price tag is certainly getting up there but I'm still comfortable using him in tournaments. 

With Joel Embiid off of the floor we've seen a really nice rebounding ceiling from Oubre this season and for most of the year he has even outproduced Paul George when on the floor as well. I don't mind the mid-6ks price tag in this spot.

What we love about Braun is that he plays in the blowouts where the other starters end up sitting out. Tonight, the Nuggets have both Aaron Gordon and Michael Porter Jr. still listed as questionable and anything less than 34 minutes would be a surprise for me tonight with Braun.

I thought he would be higher owned tonight with the prospects that he either enters the starting lineup or plays big minutes off the bench with Scoot Henderson already ruled out. Sharpe has a tremendous scoring ceiling as we've seen when he's gotten hot this year and the Nuggets are not a good defensive team.

We could see KPJ start in place of Damian Lillard or it could be Ryan Rollins. If building your lineups tonight make sure to have Porter in a spot you can swap out for Rollins if he is coming off the bench.

Chalky play with LaMelo Ball out of the lineup. Smith should take plenty of shots but this is a big pace down spot against a good Magic roster.

Speaking of Orlando, this is a pace up spot and Wagner is a real menace right now. The Hornets do not have anyone that is going to be able to guard Wagner and the only real concern here would be a blowout limiting his run.

I've been in on Jimmy Butler since the trade and the free throw numbers we are seeing from him are insane right now with an average of 14 free throw attempts per game since joining Golden State. If he is going to continue to attack the rim like this then teams are going to be in real trouble, especially a team like Dallas that has no rim protection tonight if they are forced to start Kylor Kelley at center.

The price tag is on the way down but with Chet Holmgren out of the lineup there is just that much more opportunity for him to pay off the cost. Williams is still has a ceiling which he showed against the Grizzlies a few night ago where he popped off for 44 fantasy points in 37 minutes.

I'm just going to forget last night happened for Chicago and go back to the Coby White well against the same Pistons team. White has a really nice usage rate with Lavine off the floor and Lavine isn't on the team anymore. I'd look for Chicago to be more competitive tonight and therefore a good day from White in the cards for us. 

Damian Lillard is now questionable to play tonight with Giannis Antetokoumpo already ruled out. If Dame sits then Kuzma should see an increased volume of shot attempts even though he's going to draw a miserable matchup against Jaden McDaniels.

With Maxey and Embiid off of the floor we look for George to have a team to himself in this matchup against a bad defensive team in the Brooklyn Nets. If there was ever a spot for him to take 20+ shots this would be it.

As I mentioned, the Mavericks are really shorthanded today and if PJ Washington ends up sitting out things could be even more dire. I'd look for close to 30 minutes from Marshall tonight as a baseline for what we could see out of him.

Everything was going great for Thompson last night but he was limited to just 22 minutes due to the 40 point blowout. He did end up with five fouls so that is also something to watch but he finished with 36 fantasy points in those 22 minutes last night after going for 35 fantasy points in 23 minutes the game before.

He's looked good for the 76ers since the trade and should be in line for more run moving forward as Philadelphia figures out their rotation. The Nets do not pose much of a concern here this evening.

Very chalky play with Moody moving into the starting lineup and having point guard / small forward eligibility on DraftKings. Moody has looked good in his new role and the Mavs matchup is certainly enticing.

Jaylen Brown is questionable to play tonight and if ruled out we could have another low rostered Jayson Tatum in a good spot. We saw Tatum drop 20 actual points in the third quarter the other night on his way to a 50 fantasy point night.

Yes, tough matchup against the Rockets but no Booker and no Beal for the Suns tonight likely means we get 20+ shot attempts out of Durant who torched the Grizzlies last night for 55 fantasy points over 43 minutes.

If he plays we are in. We saw him score 40 actual in this very matchup a few games ago and the Pelicans are finally back home after a long road trip.

Really love the Pacers in this matchup against the Wizards and with Myles Turner already ruled out we gotta keep going back to Siakam who has been lighting it up lately.

The minutes roller coaster continues to be frustrating but with Scoot Henderson already ruled out and Jerami Grant questionable the Blazers may actually give us the 35 minutes Deni Avdija that we cry for on a nightly basis.

We talked up Bol Bol on the preview show yesterday and then to our shock he was in the starting lineup and he dominated the Grizzlies, scoring 18 points with 14 rebounds, two assists, four blocks and two steals. He is the highest projected rostered player on the slate tonight and I'm going right back to the Bol Bol well.

Listen, it's Nikola Jokic. This man has 100 fantasy point upside and the Trail Blazers are missing DeAndre Ayton here tonight. He was well on his way to 80 fantasy points the other day in this same matchup but Denver ended up winning by 30 so he played just 31 minutes. IF we can get some sort of semi-competitive game from the Blazers then Jokic could smash the slate.

When it comes to spending up at the center position tonight we see Towns with the highest rostership of the top group, sitting at nearly 15%. He is coming off of a big outing last night against the Pacers where he scored 70 fantasy points and in three games against the Hawks he is averaging 55.

Right back we go. He scored 27 fantasy points in 23 minutes yesterday due to the blowout and the assists once again popped, finishing with 11 rebounds, five assists, one block and four points. He now has 5, 6 and seven assists over the last three games.

Can we trust that he plays minutes tonight? He's back in the lineup and rather popular. He has nice upside this season when on the floor and when give the opportunity to play around 30 minutes. 

The other chalk center. Myles Turner is already ruled out and Thomas is coming off yet another strong performance. The Wizards have been horrific against opposing centers this season and Bryant may look to get after his former team.
