Coulibaly was impactful on both ends of the floor on Friday, scoring at an efficient clip offensively while also swatting four shots. Due to the combination of size, wingspan, and athleticism, Coulibaly has the tools needed to develop into an effective 3-and-D wing. While the Wizards aren’t going with a full rebuild, as they’ll have Jordan Poole and Kyle Kuzma on the roster, there will be room for Coulibaly to emerge as a trusted option. Patrick Baldwin Jr. added six points, nine rebounds, four assists, one block, and two 3-pointers in 27 minutes.

Coulibaly did a bit of everything in this game and showed why he was drafted with the 7th pick in the draft. He certainly has areas to improve, but he should be able to contribute defensively from day one. How good he’ll be as a rookie remains to be seen, but he has the tools to be very good in this league, especially for fantasy managers.

Coulibaly’s debut wasn’t very flashy, but he was still able to showcase his upside. He wasn’t very involved offensively at times, but he was able to make an impact defensively, even if it didn’t show up in the box score. He’s an incredibly young player, and he’ll get the chance to develop on a team that will be heading back to the lottery. His first NBA action provided some encouragement.

Coulibaly played alongside Victor Wembanyama without as much shine as he may have gotten on other teams. Still, he went in the lottery for a reason. Coulibaly excels on the defensive end, using his speed and length to disrupt passes and block shots. Heâ??s no slouch on offense, but heâ??ll shine on defense for the Wizards, who are embarking on a rebuild. The Pacers will receive the eighth pick and two future second-round picks. This move gives Coulibaly a shot at fantasy relevance as a rookie. His athleticism and defensive prowess make him a steals and blocks threat from the start. If the Wizards can put him in situations where he can get downhill offensively, that will help with Coulibaly's growth as a pro.
