NBA DFS Picks, Projections, Lineups, Injuries & More Today: Sunday Playbook

The Thunder have been involved in a lot of games that haven't involved elite minutes and that's where SGA has missed out on. This should be a competitive game, one of the best on the board, and SGA without Chet Holmgren this year has a 37% USG and averages 1.6 FP/min. Those are ELITE numbers. Just get him the 36+ minutes and he'll smash.

The matchup against the Wizards could not be any better. Washington's second in pace and 30th in DRtg. Dream come true. Cade has a 32% USG rate and averages 1.35 FP/min. If there were ever a spot to see Cunningham flirt with a triple-double it's this one.

Donovan Mitchell is OUT today for the Cavs so all eyes will be on Darius Garland. Garland, without Mitchell this year, has a 28% USG and averages 1.4 FP/min. Both numbers are huge considering he's still under-8K.

The first thing I did was look at the Trail Blazers turnover rate. It's the fourth-highest in the league and that's all I needed to see. Dyson Daniels and his elite defensive stats to the moon!

This is a great spot for VanVleet to build off last games great shooting performance. I mention the shooting specifically because that's what's eluded him this year. He's shooting 38% from the floor but it's at 45% over his last five. This game has the most implied points on the board and the Rockets get a matchup against the number one team in pace.

Yes. Just yes. This reaction to Sharpe's price has been slow and we need to continue to take advantage. He's been fully ramped up to 33 and 36 minutes in each of the last two games and is in the starting lineup. He's put up 31 and 42 DKP in the last two and Ayton is out and Simons is doubtful. It's just a 93 minute sample this year, but without Ayton and Simons on the floor, Sharpe has a robust 27.8% USG, which leads the team.

I think it was amazing to see Desmond Bane get up to 27 minutes in his first game back. He almost played the entire fourth quarter and with Marcus Smart likely out, Ja Morant out, Bane is the man. He and JJJ. He likely returns to the starting lineup here.

Healthy Zach LaVine is going to keep firing and we have to love that. He missed all of his shots last game but fired up 16. He's taken 16+ shots in three straight games and we saw the ceiling of north of 50 FP when the shots fell.

This is where everyone is going to go today and why would you blame them? LeVert, without Donovan Mitchell, should be in the starting lineup, and without Mitchell this year he's averaging 1.26 DKP/min. Even if he's not starting, he's going to play a bulk of the minutes off the bench as Sam Merrill is also out.

I love the Dort play if he can stay out of foul trouble here. He faces Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, two players that are known for their ability to get to the line. Dort is an aggressive defender that has often been in foul trouble in the past. That being said, it's been better this year and that's translated on the other side of the ball as he continues to play really well offensively. He's shooting 45% from three and over his last four games, he's scored in double-figures while putting up between 23 and 33 DKP.

I like this play more on DK despite his game translating better to FD. I say it translates better to FD because of all the defensive numbers he's constantly putting up. HIs price on DK tho is more comfortable. Wallace has been starting lately and has consistently given us at least 5x return in games he's extended, which is his role with all the injuries OKC has right now.

I like Risacher in tournaments with De'Andre Hunter out. Hunter being out opens up 30+ minutes for Risacher and this matchup is between two teams that play fast and no defense. GPP only.

Day after day, Tari Eason puts up big fantasy numbers. Doesn't matter how many minutes he plays. He only saw 22 last time out and still went for 32.5 DKP. If Amen Thompson can't play, the bench minutes are all his. Also, if Jabari Smith Jr. doesn't make every shot he takes, Eason will see his minutes back up in the high-20s.

Without Nikola Jokic the other day, we saw Porter lead Denver in scoring with 24 points and he also put up 38 DKP. The 18 shots is super encouraging and without the Joker, we know the rebound upside should be higher than the six he grabbed.

24 minutes in his FIRST game back? OK. Vince Williams' role is going to be serious. He's their best on-ball defender by a pretty substantial margin and can do a little bit of everything on the floor. He's just 3.5K on DK and has serious upside at that price if he's coming anywhere close to 30 minutes.

On a game-to-game basis, Trae Young is usually the guy getting the higher ownership and I'm starting to think the gap shouldn't be as big as it typically is, and once again, that gap is there. Without De'Andre Hunter on the floor, Johnson has a 24% USG and Young's at 29%. Johnson avgs. 1.27 FP/min while Young averages 1.3. Young has a higher-scoring ceiling sure, but Johnson's ability to stuff the stat sheet and he's cheaper and lower owned gives the edge to him.

It should come as no surprise that Jaren Jackson Jr. gets a 5% USG bump with Morant and Smart off the floor up to 33%. He's also averaging 1.4 FP/min and the minutes have started creeping up into the 30's consistently. He's put up at least 45 DKP in three of four.

The growth from Evan Mobley has been on full display this year and it's apparent that he takes on a big role when Donovan Mitchell isn't on the floor. Mobley sees almost 2% higher usage, up to 26.1% and averages 1.4 FP/min. It's a small sample, but Mobley has a massive ceiling anytime he turns into a high-usage offensive guy.

Grant has continued to be very inconsistent, but he has a high ceiling and Portland is down two starters. With Simons and Ayton off the floor this year, Grant has a 27.6% USG rate and averages 1 FP/min. He legit has 40-minute upside in a competitive game.

Something has clicked with Patrick Williams of late and he's been really productive for the Bulls. He's scored 30+ DKP in four straight games and has gotten there in a multitude of ways. Scoring has been up, and peripheral stats too. He's made 3+ threes in three straight games, that helps. In a game with a great scoring environment, look for Williams to continue to produce.

It's really, really, really, REALLY hard not to play Robert Williams on DK. He's min salary and the last time we saw him on the floor he played 25 (!!) minutes and went 19-9-3-3-3 for 46 DKP. His price is still min salary. He's going to be the most popular play on the board. Not as sure-fire on FD.

The Knicks best player offensively this year has far and away been Karl-Anthony Towns. It's not even close. He's been dominating and has posted a 29% USG and 1.5 FP/min. He's questionable, but if he's able to go we already know he has 40-minute upside.

With Chet Holmgren off the floor this season, Jalen Williams has a 28.7% USG and averages 1.4 DKP/min. Those are ELITE numbers and Williams should take advantage of a Dallas team on the second leg of a back-to-back playing without Luka Doncic.

Every single game we see Alperen Sengun extended he's smashing. He's simply too cheap. That's all there is to say. Look at the production for an 8K player and now we're looking at a guy with 45+ DKP in four straight and is coming off a triple-double in 32 minutes. He has a 26% USG, averages 1.5 FP/min, and is playing a team that plays faster than anyone else in the league.

I don't think Edey is necessarily a better play than Clingan or Saric, but he's definitely a pivot off of two chalkier options. Look at how good he's been since moving to the bench. He's fallen just shot of a double-double in four straight games and in each of them he's put up 26+ DKP.

We've seen two different versions of Clingan starting. One's been in perpetual foul trouble and the other almost triple-doubled because he blocked eight shots. That guy has a 50 FP ceiling. He also put up 50 FP in a game without both Rob Williams and Deandre Ayton, so we'll see if he gets to 31 minutes again with Williams active. Portland has used Williams at PF this year so it's definitely possible we still see Clingan hover around 30 minutes.

It's not free like it was the other day, but with Nikola Jokic out it's likely that Dario Saric is the Nuggets starting center again. If he's not, we'll pivot accordingly, but he had a 19% USG rate in that game, played 33 minutes and had 27 DKP. It's tougher to get to on FD because of the steep increase. 

ADDED - Well, Luka Doncic is out. Fire up as much Kyrie Irving as one can get. He sees a near 7% USG bump up to 33% and is averaging 1.4 FP/min without Doncic this year. Irving and the Mavs are on the second leg of a back-to-back against the league's best defense, for what it's worth.

ADDED - The price increase isn't the best, but there was a lot to like about Murray in their last game without Jokic. He stuff the stat sheet but played 42 minutes! He also took 16 shots, they just didn't go in, and this is a GREAT pace up spot for Denver tonight.

FD ONLY - Bam Adebayo is an elite NBA player that had simply struggled with his shot until the last couple of games. He's woken up. He scored 30 last time out against Indiana and was three assists shy of a triple-double. Jimmy Butler is out again and the offense is going to run through Adebayo again today.

FD ONLY - Am I willing to go back to a guy who struggled in the same matchup the last time out? I sure am. He just missed shots. Herro on the year without Jimmy Butler is a 1.33 FP/min guy and leads the team with a 30% USG.

FD ONLY - He looked so good in his minutes the other day and if Nikola Jovic doesn't play as well as he did last game, Jaquez likely closes over him here. Without Butler, Jazuqez has a 22.3% USG and averages 1.14 FP/min.

FD ONLY - I'm good going right back to the well here with Mathurin. Without Nembhard and Nesmith, he's in line to play mid-to-high 30s minutes and is a 25% USG, 1 FP/min player. Tournament darling because nobody will go back to the well in the same matchup he flopped in last game.
