Sam Merrill (rest) and Isaac Okoro (rest) are out for Sunday’s game against the Pacers.
The Cavaliers’ lineup will be depleted for Sunday’s regular-season finale. Jarrett Allen is the only rotation player of note who will be available. Merrill and Okoro are among those who will rest ahead of the playoffs, which the Cavaliers will begin on April 20. Jaylon Tyson and Craig Porter Jr. are among those who should play plenty on Sunday.
Sam Merrill accounted for 14 points (5-of-7 FGs), two rebounds, three assists and four three-pointers in 29 minutes in Tuesday’s win over the Trail Blazers.
Sam Merrill (personal) is available, and Isaac Okoro (shoulder) is out for Monday’s matchup with the Timberwolves.
Okoro will remain sidelined, but Merrill will return following a one-game absence. Merrill has been excellent as a floor-spacer and knock-down three-point shooter over his last five games, and he’ll look to keep the momentum going against the Wolves.
Sam Merrill lit it up from beyond the arc, delivering 27 points and nine triples across 23 minutes in Sunday’s 43-point win over Dallas.
The triples mark a new career high for Merrill who shot a blistering 9-of-13 from beyond the arc. He tied his career high with 27 points and led his team in scoring on a night where Cleveland decimated the reeling Mavericks by 43 points. Merrill’s excellent play off the bench is representative of why Cleveland’s offense has been so lethal this season, but don’t count on this type of production every night.
