NFL DFS Week 13 WR Coach For FanDuel & DraftKings Fantasy
When looking at the 10-game main slate we have available to us, a couple of things immediately jump out. Jacksonville is back on the slate for us, and that’s a defense we will most assuredly be targeting.
Furthermore, the New Orleans secondary has struggled in recent weeks, and they have to go up against Matthew Stafford and his lethal 1-2 punch at the wide receiver spot. Lastly, no Josh Downs gives us a very intriguing value play in that Colts-Patriots contest.
Keep on reading for some insights as to the particular receivers I like this week at all different price tiers!
NFL Week 13 Wide Receivers
As mentioned previously, we have 10 games on the main slate, and here are some quick notes for you to be aware of as you begin building your NFL DFS Week 13 lineups:
- 4 games with a line of at least 47 points
- Only 2 games with a line of 42.5 or fewer points
NFL DFS WR Coach Week 12 Results
From the top tier picks last week, Terry McLaurin was our best hit, while the other options underwhelmed.
Jameson Williams was our best pick from the mid-tier, and an injury to Josh Down interrupted what should have been a big game.
Devaughn Vele gave us a solid return on investment from the value tier, and was easily the highlight there.
Fading Tank Dell was the right call, but Marvin Harrison really underwhelmed in Week 12.
NFL DFS WR Top Tier Picks For Week 13
Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings - DraftKings: $8,100 | FanDuel: $8,900
Like many top receivers, Jefferson was bottled up last week against Chicago, catching just two passes for 27 yards in that game. However, the outlook is far better and brighter in Week 13 against Arizona.
Jefferson has posted 2.53 yards per route run against zone coverage this season, and the Cardinals like to sit in zone on defense. This game is at home so take the home/road splits for what it's worth, but Jefferson has averaged 104.8 yards per game at home this year, compared to just 69.2 yards per game on the road.
Puka Nacua, Los Angeles Rams - DraftKings: $7,600 | FanDuel: $8,700
The Saints have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to wide receivers over the last four weeks, and Nacua has at least seven receptions, nine targets, and 98 yards in each of his last three games, and in four of his last five.
While Kupp does have more touchdowns (3) than Nacua (1) over the last three weeks, Nacua takes the crown in target share, air yards, yards per route run, receptions, and receiving yards. No pass-catcher in the NFL has a higher first read rate, per Fantasy Points’ Data Suite, than Nacua (41.8%) over the last three weeks. New Orleans’ perimeter corners are abysmal, and the Rams should have a field day through the air.
Cooper Kupp, Los Angeles Rams - DraftKings: $7,400 | FanDuel: $9,000
I love attacking New Orleans out of the slot, and while Nacua has been more dynamic than Kupp when on the field, this is such a good spot for Kupp. Over the last two weeks, Kupp has put up 3.56 yards per route run out of the slot, per Pro Football Focus (PFF), including three touchdowns on 17 targets.
Alontae Taylor has been pushed out wide, but slot coverage issues have persisted for the Saints with Ugo Amadi. Amada, a 5’9” fourth rounder from the 2019 draft, has allowed the second-most yards in slot coverage over the last four weeks, not to mention 3.8 coverage snaps per target, which is the second-worst amongst corners with at least 40 slot coverage snaps in the aforementioned timeframe, per PFF.
Looking at the price point, Kupp is going to be hard to play on FanDuel, especially since he’s more expensive than Nacua, but also just $100 off Nico Collins facing off against Jacksonville.
Ja'Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals - DraftKings: $8,600 | FanDuel: $9,300
Tournaments only. The Bengals have the highest pass rate over expectation over the last four weeks, and while Pittsburgh boasts some talented corners, their Cover 3 tendencies could let Chase go nuclear.
Chase has been far and away the best wide receiver against Cover 3 in terms of fantasy points per route run (0.94), per Fantasy Points’ Data Suite. He’s posted at least 80 yards in each of his last two games against Pittsburgh, dating back to the 2022 season.
Yes, Pittsburgh has allowed the fewest fantasy points per game to wideouts over the last four weeks, but in tournaments, if you can get Chase at a lower than usual ownership percentage, you almost have to do it for his sheer upside. I’m not playing Chase in cash, but in tournaments, I don’t mind chasing his upside.
NFL DFS WR Mid-Tier Picks For NFL Week 13
Marvin Harrison, Arizona Cardinals - DraftKings: $6,000 | FanDuel: $6,900
Minnesota has allowed the ninth-most fantasy points per game to wideouts over the last four weeks, and Harrison is set to be the next WR1 to beat up on this Minnesota secondary.
Harrison’s numbers are more impressive against man coverage compared to zone, however, I’m intrigued by his 16.1 aDOT and 18.8 yards per reception versus zone this season. Some tough matchups have kept him in check in recent weeks, but this is a matchup that he’s set to exploit.
Ladd McConkey, Los Angeles Chargers - DraftKings: $6,100 | FanDuel: $6,300
McConkey turned all six of his targets on Monday Night Football in Week 12 into 83 yards, giving him 5+ receptions in five of his last six, and at least 60 yards in four of his last five.
Atlanta has allowed the most fantasy points per game to receivers over the last four weeks, and McConkey is just about the only Charger who actually catches the ball, so it would behoove Justin Herbert to pepper him with targets in this one. The rookie out of Georgia will feast on this defense out of the slot, as they have been generous there for most of 2024.
However, Atlanta has struggled with perimeter receivers in recent weeks, and while McConkey has only lined up out wide about 20 percent of the time over the last four weeks, he’s posted an impressive 3.92 yards per route run when out wide.
Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers - DraftKings: $6,700 | FanDuel: $8,300
In his first game back from injury, Evans caught five of six targets for 68 yards, and handled 60 percent of the snaps. One would figure that his snap share goes up this week, and if that’s the case, the outlook in Week 13 is BRIGHT.
He’s decimated Cover 3 this year to the tune of a top-5 mark in terms of fantasy points per route run, per Fantasy Points’ Data Suite, and furthermore, Carolina is the worst team in the league on fantasy points per dropback allowed while in zone coverage. Evans should see 70+ percent of the snaps this weekend, and in the five games he’s reached that threshold this season, he’s received at least six targets in all but one game with five total touchdowns.
Calvin Ridley, Tennessee Titans - DraftKings: $5,700 | FanDuel: $6,800
Ridley just continues to produce, and while Nick Westbrook-Ikhine-Ikhine is taking the touchdowns, Ridley is getting a ton of work. The team has made a concerted effort to get the football to him, and he has seven straight games with at least six targets.
Ridley lines up on both sides of the field, and while rookie Mike Sainristil has been impressive, the Titans figure to get Ridley in front of Benjamin St-Juste, who has allowed nearly 15 yards per reception and a 124.3 passer rating when targeted over the last four weeks, per PFF.
NFL Week 13 DFS WR Value Picks
Tank Dell, Houston Texans - DraftKings: $5,900 | FanDuel: $6,400
Tank Dell missed the game against Jacksonville earlier this season, but let us not forget that he scored in both games against the Jaguars last season. The second-year receiver has been solid against man coverage this year, putting forth 2.33 yards per route run and a 13.0 average depth of target (aDOT), per PFF, and a 131.1 passer rating when targeted.
Jacksonville has allowed the third-most fantasy points per game over the last four weeks, and as written up with Nico Collins, Houston is passing more than expected since Collins has come back into the fold. He’s averaging six targets per game over the last two weeks, and this matchup against Jacksonville has quickly become an absolute must-win for the Texans.
Parker Washington, Jacksonville Jaguars - DraftKings: $3,900 | FanDuel: $5,500
Evan Engram and Brenton Strange have done more out of the slot in recent weeks, but so long as we get Trevor Lawrence back in Week 13, Parker Washington should have a profitable day out of the slot.
The Texans have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points per game to wideouts over the last four weeks, and with Jalen Pitre out with a pec injury, the Texans figure to let Jimmie Ward be the primary slot corner. If not him, Eric Murray will get those reps, but neither is particularly great in coverage.
In this matchup back in Week 4, Christian Kirk caught five passes for 49 yards with a touchdown out of the slot, and Brian Thomas had one touchdown on three slot targets. Jacksonville will be better off targeting Ward/Murray in coverage rather than Derek Stingley or Kamari Lassiter, and that bodes well for Washington.
Adonai Mitchell, Indianapolis Colts - DraftKings: $3,900 | FanDuel: $5,000
With Josh Downs likely out in Week 13, I expect many to look to Michael Pittman, especially after he just went for 96 yards last week against Detroit. However, I’m going to save some money and chase the upside of Adonai Mitchell.
Against man coverage in 2024, per PFF, he leads all Indy wideouts in yards per route run (2.86) while holding a healthy 12.1 aDOT and 14.0 yards per reception. Remember back in Week 10 when he played 94 percent of the snaps against Buffalo?
All he did in that game was catch all six of his targets for 71 yards, and he’s received at least four targets in all three games where he’s played over half of the offensive snaps. New England plays a ton of man coverage, and Mitchell’s ability to separate will be on full display all afternoon long.
NFL DFS WR Fades For Week 13
Zay Flowers, Baltimore Ravens - DraftKings: $6,200 | FanDuel: $7,100
Fading Flowers in a game with the highest total on the main slate? Yes! Flowers has maintained a steady target share, posting at least six targets in each of his last five games, but this is a brutal matchup for wideouts.
The Eagles have allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points per game to wideouts over the last four weeks, and Cooper DeJean has been stingy in slot coverage the last five weeks. Of slot corners with at least 75 coverage snaps over the last five weeks, DeJean has the 7th-lowest yards per coverage snap, per PFF. Flowers doesn’t play in the slot exclusively, but it’s worth calling it out, since he does go in there pretty frequently.
NFL Week 13 WR Play Of The Week
Nico Collins, Houston Texans - DraftKings: $7,900 | FanDuel: $9,100
Since Collins has returned from injury, Houston has the second-highest pass rate over expectation (12.0%), per Fantasy Points’ Data Suite. The star receiver has also had a 30+ yard touchdown called back in each of his last two games, but even so, he still managed to go for 92 yards and a touchdown on nine targets last week against Tennessee.
Now, Collins gets to face Jacksonville, a team he lit up for 151 yards and a touchdown on 15 targets back in Week 4, and the Jags have allowed the third-most fantasy points per game to wideouts over the last four weeks. Despite this game not being at home, it’s still a smash spot for Collins.
