2024 NFL Pick Em Confidence Pools Strategy & Advice: Week 7 Predictions
NFL Week 7 gets underway which means It’s time to start making your picks for your 2024 NFL Pick Em Confidence Pools. We’re not exactly getting a game of the week here on Thursday Night Football as the Denver Broncos head down to the Big Easy to take on an injury-riddled New Orleans Saints team. It’s not a game many want to watch, let alone make a pick for confidence pools.
We were hoping last week would be a time to make a bit of a move with a contrarian pick at a decent level of confidence, but the favorites went 12-2, so everyone making chalk picks maintained their place in the standings.
We didn’t lose ground with where we were in the standings, but missing out on that 10 points we were hoping to steal with a Broncos upset against the Chargers, put us further behind the leader and the top spots that place in the money. We’re going to have to continue finding ways to take chances and hope we don’t run into another week of chalk winners.
How are we going to make up ground this week? Which games are we looking at? Let’s dive into some confidence pool advice to set our course for the week.
2024 NFL Pick Em Confidence Pools Strategy For Week 7
As we’ve been saying over the past few weeks, your strategy for making weekly 2024 NFL Pick Em Confidence Pool picks is to make sure you are adjusting for where you are in our current standings. Those of you at the top of your standings, again, stay the course. Last week’s chalk bonanza helped you solidify your place atop the leaderboard.
Keep doing what you’re doing as there is little reason to suddenly start taking too many chances with contrarian picks. The best confidence pool advice I can offer you is to just maintain your process and maybe lean into the chalk now a little more. If you find you have a couple of bad weeks in a row, then we will adjust. For now, just keep killing it.
For the middle or back half of the standings of your 2024 NFL Pick Em Confidence pools, we are going to have to rinse and repeat what we started doing two weeks ago. We need to find a pick or two where the chalk is leaning one way, take the opposite and throw a mid-range confidence level on it.
There are obvious risks involved, but there is a lot of ground to make up and while you aren’t running out of time just yet, the season is getting shorter and shorter.
NFL Pick Em Confidence Pools Advice
The best confidence pool advice I can offer you right now is simple. Lean into the chalk if you’re among the top 10 and if you’re near the bottom, start taking more (and bigger chances). Here’s the thing – are you going to remember who finishes 12 in your 2024 NFL Pick Em Confidence Pool? Nope. No one cares.
If you have a lot of ground to make up, then it’s time to swing for the fences. You have to be sensible though. This isn’t like, “hey, let’s just keep taking the heavy underdogs like Carolina and Cleveland.” That would be bad confidence pool advice. But if you have an interesting read on a game that might be a little contrarian, lean into it.
If you read my Survivor Pool strategy article for NFL Week 7, then you know there’s a game that fits the bill this week for me – Las Vegas Raiders vs. Los Angeles Rams. I know the Rams are coming off a bye week and there’s a chance they get Cooper Kupp back for this game, but the Raiders defense can be stifling at times, and they are looking to get back on-track after two frustrating losses.
The Maxx Crosby situation still hangs in the air, but after the team traded Davante Adams and everyone is just assuming their lie down and complete the fire sale, head coach Antonio Pierce should have his defense fired up. The Rams offensive line is still very much a work in progress, so I’ll take a chance here on them while most lean into the Rams being a 5.5-point home favorite. Scary? Maybe a little, but we need a big move this week. SEE 10/18 UPDATE BELOW THE GRID

UPDATED 10/18: Pivoting off the Raiders after receiving additional intel regarding the impending fire sale. Not even the rah-rah encouragements of Antonio Pierce who could be replaced after the season, are going to help them.
UPDATED 10/19: Would prefer to move Chiefs up a few spots after added research.
