Welcome to Sunday and another edition of expert MLB Best Bets and Props! We had a solid day yesterday, going 8-3. The Padres did, in fact, go to extras again after giving up 8 runs. They still got the win but kept us from cashing the -1.5 run line. The other losses came from both of the pitchers in the New York Mets vs. Seattle Mariners game not hitting their over for strikeouts. We will look to follow it up with another winning day today!

Braves vs. Rockies Prediction: Sunday, August 11th

Yesterday, we had an offensive onslaught in Colorado with the Braves beating the Rockies 11-8. Today, I think we have some solid upside in the pitchers taking the mound, especially when it comes to their strikeout numbers, even if they still allow some runs in Coors.

Kyle Freeland has been fantastic at home this season with a 2.51 ERA, and while I think this Braves team can probably put some runs on him today, I do think he will continue to pitch pretty well and has some solid strikeout upside today. The Braves have the highest strikeout rate against lefties since the all-star break, with a massive 39.8% strikeout rate. Even if the Braves can put some runs on Freeland today, I think he can easily get to at least 5 strikeouts.

The Braves have Spencer Schewellenbach taking the mound. He is coming off of back-to-back double-digit strikeout games, with 8 strikeouts in the game before that. Since the all-star break, the Rockies have a 25.9% strikeout rate, fifth highest in the league. Getting 7 strikeouts in Coors Field may seem like a lot, but with how Schwellenbach is pitching right now and the weakness of the Rockies' offense, I think he will get there.

Matt Olson came alive yesterday with 2 homers. He has been heating up a bit recently, and though he has the lefty-lefty matchup, he has actually been much better against lefties this season with an .815 OPS against lefties this season. I think there is a chance Olson gets himself another homer today, but at the very least, he can get himself another 2 bases today.
