Jeffrey Springs allowed seven runs, five earned, with four strikeouts over six innings in a loss against the White Sox on Saturday.

The White Sox were on Springs early in this one. Luis Robert Jr. took him deep for a solo homer before a walk and three hits brought three more runs in to score in the opening frame. Two hits and a sacrifice fly put two more runs on the board for Chicago in the second. Springs was left in to save the bullpen and gave up one more run in the sixth. The 32-year-old left-hander ends the day with a 6.04 ERA, 1.62 WHIP, and a 27/16 K/BB ratio across 28 1/3 innings, giving fantasy managers little reason to hold him at this point. He’ll make his next start against the Rangers in Texas on Thursday.

Jeffrey Springs (hamstring) told reporters on Sunday that he expects to make his next scheduled start.

The 32-year-old southpaw was removed from Sunday’s outing against the Brewers due to soreness in his right hamstring, which he said was more of a cramp than anything. He’ll undergo further evaluation on Monday just to be on the safe side, but it sounds like he should be good to go for Saturday’s premium matchup against the White Sox.

Jeffrey Springs was removed from Sunday’s start against the Brewers with right hamstring soreness.

Springs appeared to tweak his hamstring while coming off the mound to field a third-inning grounder. He was charged with six runs — four earned — with three strikeouts and four walks over 3 2/3 innings before departing. It certainly sounds like he’ll require a trip to the injured list in the coming days.

Jeffrey Springs picked up his third victory of the season on Tuesday night, limiting the White Sox to three runs on three hits over his five innings of work.

The 32-year-old southpaw walked three and struck out four on the night. He ran into major trouble in the opening inning as Andrew Vaughn tagged him for a three-run homer, but Springs settled in nicely after that and kept the White Sox’ offense at bay over his final four frames. He got 10 swings and misses on 93 pitches in the ballgame — three each on his fastball, slider and changeup — while posting an underwhelming CSW of 24 percent. Now 3-1 on the season, he’ll carry a 4.50 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and a 20/10 K/BB ratio (20 innings) into Sunday’s showdown against the Brewers in Milwaukee.
