Bradley Beal Stats & More - Suns Buyout, Signs with Clippers

ESPN's Shams Charania reported on X that three-time NBA All-Star Bradley Beal has come to a mutual buyout with the Phoenix Suns.
Priority Sports' Mark Bartelstein told ESPN that Beal will sign with the Los Angeles Clippers on a two-year, $11 million deal with a player option after passing through waivers.
This signing brings to an end Beal's two seasons with the Suns, where he could not gel well with Devin Booker and Kevin Durant, among others, and represents a new beginning with the Clippers in expectation of padding stars such as Kawhi Leonard and James Harden.
Bradley Beal Stats
Beal's 2024-2025 data with the Phoenix Suns were gathered from a sports API query and indicated that he netted 17.0 points, 3.7 assists, and 3.3 rebounds in playing 53 games. This was good performance but less than his career best, possibly due to injuries and team balance among Suns as a whole. For deeper analysis, see the table below:
SEASON | TM | GP | MPG | PPG | RPG | APG | SPG | BPG | FG% | 3P% | FT% |
2024-25 | PHX | 53 | 32.1 | 17 | 3.3 | 3.7 | 1.1 | 0.5 | 49.7 | 38.6 | 80.3 |
Beal's effectiveness, performance of 49.7% in the paint and 38.6% from beyond three, that he is a consistent scorer and playmaker, which will gel in with the Clippers' system smoothly.
Impact on Los Angeles Clippers Depth Chart
The 2024-2025 Clippers lineup, as per Lineups.com and ESPN, has notable players such as Kawhi Leonard (PF, 95 OVR), James Harden (PG/SG, 90 OVR), and Ivica Zubac (C, 88 OVR). Having Beal as the shooting guard is a good addition to Harden, who may play or play sixth man. He may supplant Kris Dunn in the rotation or head the second unit, with reports pointing to a possible defense bench spot, alongside John Collins. This would be a rotation addition for the Clippers, particularly after trading away Norman Powell to Miami, which left an opening Beal can fill.
The expected Clippers depth chart after Beal might look something like this:
POSITION | STARTER | BACKUP |
PG | ||
SG | ||
SF | ||

This rotation indicates Beal is set to receive actual minutes, most likely 30-35 per game, bringing yet another scoring punch to the roster.
Phoenix Suns Depth Chart Post-Buyout
The Suns depth chart under the influence of Beal's removal indicates a turn towards youth and defense. The Suns traded Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets for Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks. Their rotation now more likely includes Devin Booker at point guard, Jalen Green at shooting guard, Dillon Brooks at small forward, and centers Mark Williams or Khaman Maluach. The Suns' emphasis on rebuilding is evident, with Beal's buyout clearing cap space to fall under the second-apron payroll threshold.
A future Suns depth chart after Beal could look like this:
POSITION | STARTER | BACKUP |

The retooling seeks to build around Booker with a defense-oriented roster that is competitive and usher in a new era for Phoenix.
Bradley Beal Fantasy Basketball Outlook
Beal's fantasy worth with the Clippers hinges on his role. Traditionally, Beal has been a high-volume scoring guard, but his 2024-2025 statistics reveal a decline, possibly due to injuries.
With the Clippers, if he's a starter, he may play 30-35 minutes a game, being a value across the board in points, assists, and rebounds. But as a reserve, minutes may dip, hurting fantasy scoring.
He remains a worthwhile pickup, especially for scoring leagues. Fantasy owners must monitor his role, with ceiling potential in contributing in a solid manner alongside Leonard and Harden.
Beal joining the Clippers adds more depth and flexibility as a championship team. For the Suns, it is building towards rejuvenation through defense and youth.
Fantasy owners will be watching Beal's new role closely, and it will directly impact his value in next year's campaign. This July 16, 2025, reported signing is evidence of the volatility of NBA free agency with its wide-reaching effects for the clubs and fantasy hoops.
Player News
Celtics waived Miles Norris.
Not selected in the 2023 NBA Draft, Norris has spent most of his two professional seasons in the G League. He appeared in three games for the Celtics last season, averaging 2.3 points and 3.0 rebounds in 11.7 minutes. Sunday’s transactions opens up a two-way contract slot for the Celtics, days after the team acquired RJ Luis as part of a deal with the Jazz.
Jeremy Sochan (calf) will not play in EuroBasket at the end of the month.
Sochan was gearing up to represent Poland at EuroBasket, beginning on August 27, when he felt pain in his calf. While the injury is not considered serious, the decision has been made to send him back to San Antonio for rehab. The expectation is that Sochan will be healthy when the Spurs begin training camp in late September, so the impact on his fantasy prospects should be minimal at worst. Sochan was a late-round option in fantasy leagues last season, ranking just outside the top-150 in per-game value. Only appearing in 54 games negatively impacted his totals value, as expected.
HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto reports Mike Muscala will join the Suns as an assistant coach.
Muscala, who retired from basketball last summer, will remain around the NBA and reunite with first-year coach Jordan Ott after spending time with him in Atlanta. Muscala will look to help Phoenix remain competitive after trading Kevin Durant to Houston.
Haywood Highsmith (knee) will be sidelined for 8-10 weeks after undergoing surgery.
According to the Heat, Highsmith suffered a torn right meniscus while training in his hometown of Baltimore. With the team’s timeline, the wing may be available in time for the start of the regular season, but that isn’t guaranteed. Highsmith has not been a consistently impactful fantasy asset with the Heat, but he’s been able to earn rotation minutes.
Maxwell Lewis agreed to a contract with Turkish club Tofaş.
Lewis, the 40th overall pick in the 2023 draft, played for the Lakers and Nets last season. In 28 combined appearances, 21 for the Nets, he averaged 4.1 points and 2.0 rebounds in 11.7 minutes. Lewis most recently played for the Mavericks in summer league action.
The Celtics signed head coach Joe Mazzulla to a multi-year contract extension.
After three successful seasons as the Celtics’ head coach, Mazzulla has been rewarded with a multi-year extension. While his job was not in any danger, the coach receives added security ahead of what’s expected to be a “bridge year” for the Celtics as they await Jayson Tatum’s return from a ruptured Achilles tendon. In three seasons at the helm, Mazzulla, who began as the interim head coach after Ime Udoka’s suspension ahead of the 2022-23 season, has led the Celtics to 182 regular-season wins and the 2024 NBA title.
