NFL DFS Week 14 WR Coach For FanDuel & DraftKings Fantasy
Our 10 game main slate features some fun story lines, including an AFC East showdown between the Jets and Dolphins, a potential shootout in Arizona, and some revenge games for Kirk Cousins, Calvin Ridley, and more!
The game of the week, and potentially the highest scoring, figures to be the Rams-Bills game, and despite there being some underwhelming matchups on paper, I think quite a few of these games breeze past their projected total. Receivers like Puka Nacua and Jakobi Meyers are some of my top plays of the week, and see which value receivers I’m targeting!
Keep on reading for some insights as to the particular receivers I like this week at all different price tiers in the NFL DFS Week 14 WR Coach!
NFL Week 14 Wide Receivers
Teams on primetime: Packers, Lions, Chargers, Chiefs, Bengals, Cowboys
Teams on bye: Texans, Colts, Patriots, Broncos, Ravens, Commanders
Quick notes on the slate:
- 3 games with a line of at least 46 points
- 2 games with a line of 42 or fewer points
NFL DFS WR Coach Week 13 Results
From the top tier picks last week, most players were pretty good, but Cooper Kupp was the big whiff.
Outside of Calvin Ridley in the mid-tier, we crushed this section, highlighted by Ladd McConkey and Mike Evans.
Our only highlight in the value tier was a big one, as Parker Washington came through against Houston.
Zay Flowers was okay against Philadelphia, and Nico Collins put up 119 yards on eight receptions as our top play for Week 13.
NFL DFS WR Top Tier Picks For Week 14
Drake London, Atlanta Falcons - DraftKings: $6,400 | FanDuel: $7,900
I love Darnell Mooney as much as just about anyone out there, but man oh man, the workload for London has been immense, and consistent. Yes, he saw 16 targets last week, but over the last three weeks, he’s averaging nearly seven receptions on 12 targets for 81.3 yards PER GAME! He’ll head into this matchup as Atlanta’s WR1 in a revenge game for his quarterback!
Minnesota has allowed some fantasy points to wide receivers to say the least, and over his last three games, London has posted 2.04 Y/RR against zone coverage, per Pro Football Focus (PFF). Stephon Gilmore could miss this game, further weakening the Minnesota secondary. This price point looks super soft on DraftKings.
Malik Nabers, New York Giants - DraftKings: $6,900 | FanDuel: $8,300
12/6 UPDATE: Nabers suffered a hip flexor injury during the week, putting his status for Sunday in jeopardy. We'll continue to monitor the situation and act accordingly.
The quarterback room in New York may be underwhelming, but Nabers is clearly the leader in the clubhouse, and the target share is excellent.
Nabers has at least seven targets in every game this season, and he has double-digit targets in four of his last five. Sure, the star rookie hasn’t found the end zone since Week 3, but he gets a Saints defense that has allowed the most fantasy points per game to wide receivers over the last four weeks!
With Drew Lock under center last week, Nabers did post his second-lowest average depth of target (aDOT) in a game all season, but he also did manage his third-highest snap share out of the slot, which was good for 1.93 yards per route run (Y/RR) on four targets (3 receptions).
George Pickens, Pittsburgh Steelers - DraftKings: $6,800 | FanDuel: $7,500
12/8 UPDATE: Pickens is INACTIVE.
Pickens has every opportunity to go nuclear in this matchup against Cleveland. Despite catching just four of his seven targets for 48 yards against Cleveland a few weeks back, he still led the team in targets, and that game was played in less than ideal weather conditions to say the least.
In what should be better meteorological elements, Pickens is going to feast on this man-heavy Cleveland defense. Over the last four weeks, Pickens has far and away been Pittsburgh’s most effective receiver against man (4.52 Y/RR), per PFF, and Cleveland has been relatively generous to opposing wide receivers this season, especially those who can consistently win against man coverage.
Never underestimate how wild a game can get with Jameis Winston under center, so the opening line of 42.5 for this game doesn’t really concern me.
DK Metcalf, Seattle Seahawks - DraftKings: $6,200 | FanDuel: $7,600
I’m not saying that I don’t like Jaxon Smith-Njigba this week, because his breakout is here, and it’s real. However, when facing Arizona I’d much rather go at Sean Murphy-Bunting at the perimeter compared to Garrett Williams in the slot. Williams has been playing well of late, and Metcalf has the physical profile to give Murphy-Bunting fits all afternoon long.
Arizona is playing a ton of zone defense, and Metcalf has posted a respectable 1.97 Y/RR and 16.1 aDOT versus zone over the last four weeks, per PFF. A couple weeks back, this game only saw 22 points total, but I don’t expect that to occur this go around. Geno Smith still logged 31 pass attempts in that game, but we should see him north of 35 this time.
NFL DFS WR Mid-Tier Picks For NFL Week 14
Davante Adams, New York Jets - DraftKings: $6,700 | FanDuel: $7,300
The Jets are the Jets at this point, but Adams is getting his targets, that’s for sure. Sure, he caught just five of 12 targets last week, but he has double-digit targets in three of his last four, and at least five receptions in four straight games as a Jet.
Furthermore, Adams is the team’s primary slot receiver, and Kader Kahou has allowed 1.10 yards per coverage snap and a 128.8 passer rating over his last four games, per PFF. No other New York receiver is even in the same stratosphere in terms of slot targets in recent weeks, so trust the matchup and volume for Adams in this AFC East matchup.
Jordan Addison, Minnesota Vikings - DraftKings: $5,300 | FanDuel: $6,000
Yes, I’d strongly consider Justin Jefferson, too, don’t get me wrong. However, this is not the week to overlook Jordan Addison. Not only does he have three touchdowns over his last five games, but he has 50+ yards in three straight games, and he’s actually been getting more run out of the slot in recent weeks than Jefferson.
While Atlanta’s slot corner Dee Alford has been playing better in recent weeks, he’s struggled for the majority of the year, and Addison is set to feast on Atlanta’s zone-heavy scheme. Over his last five games, Addison has 2.01 Y/RR and over 16 yards per reception against zone coverage, per PFF.
Jakobi Meyers, Las Vegas Raiders - DraftKings: $5,600 | FanDuel: $6,700
The good thing about Las Vegas’ passing attack is that no matter who is under center, the targets are highly concentrated on Brock Bowers and Jakobi Meyers. Everyone else can fight for the scraps! Meyers has double-digit targets in three of his last four games, and in each of those games he saw 10+ targets, he’s put up at least 97 receiving yards.
He’s posted 2.73 Y/RR versus zone coverage in his last four games, per PFF, and Tampa Bay has allowed the tenth-most fantasy points per game to receivers over the last four weeks. In a game where the Raiders are heavy dogs, expect Aidan O’Connell to have 35+ pass attempts again, which means another game of 10+ targets for the team’s top wideout.
Calvin Ridley, Tennessee Titans - DraftKings: $5,700 | FanDuel: $6,300
I just can’t quit Ridley, as you are likely aware, since I believe he’s been in the DFS WR Coach for what feels like multiple weeks straight. However, not only do we get the revenge game narrative for Ridley this week, but Jacksonville is a soft matchup for receivers, as they’ve allowed the seventh-most fantasy points per game over the last four weeks, and third-most for the entire 2024 campaign.
Jacksonville plays a bunch of man coverage, and say what you want about PFF’s player grades, but he’s their No. 2 receiver over the last six weeks versus man coverage, while posting 3.80 Y/RR and a 133.1 passer rating when targeted.
NFL Week 14 DFS WR Value Picks
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Tennessee Titans - DraftKings: $4,700 | FanDuel: $6,200
Jacksonville has allowed the seventh-most fantasy points per game to wideouts over the last four weeks, and Westbrook-Ikhine won’t stop scoring touchdowns. Despite catching just 20 of his 38 targets over his last eight games, he’s managed to score eight touchdowns!
This touchdown rate is certainly unsustainable, and trusting him in DFS is incredibly tough, because without the touchdowns, he would have reached double-digit fantasy points just twice over his last eight.
His recent production is better suited for FanDuel than DraftKings, but I wouldn’t count him out from scoring again this week, especially if half of his reps come against Ronald Darby (17.3 aDOT and 103.9 passer rating when targeted over the last 3 games).
Amari Cooper, Buffalo Bills - DraftKings: $5,100 | FanDuel: $5,700
You can get at the Rams on the perimeter, and that’s Cooper’s domain. Since coming to Buffalo, he’s basically been allergic to the slot, but the Rams are more vulnerable on the boundary anyways.
This is the highest scoring game of the slate, per Vegas, and with the Rams ramping up their man coverage usage, Cooper is primed for a big day. Since joining the Bills, he’s posted 4.29 Y/RR versus man coverage with a 105.1 passer rating when targeted, per PFF.
Sure, it’s a smaller sample size, but it’s games like this that highlight why Buffalo went out and acquired Cooper. I expect ownership to go to Shakir, and rightfully so, but something in my gut is telling me that we are going to see Cooper’s best day as a Buffalo Bill on Sunday.
Marquez Valdes-Scantling, New Orleans Saints - DraftKings: $4,600 | FanDuel: $5,800
Per Fantasy Points’ Data Suite, Derek Carr has a 7.9 aDOT against zone this year, but an 11.7 aDOT against man coverage. Well, the Giants play a ton of man and passes downfield have crushed them all year long.
MVS has scored in three straight games as a Saint, and in those three games, he’s posted 2.53 Y/RR and a 15.7 aDOT versus man coverage, per PFF. We’re hoping for a long score from MVS in this one, and with no Taysom Hill in the mix, New Orleans will need someone to step up, so why not MVS?
NFL DFS WR Fades For Week 14
A.J. Brown, Philadelphia Eagles - DraftKings: $8,100 | FanDuel: $9,300
Do I feel good about fading A.J. Brown? Not great, but he’s the highest priced receiver on both DraftKings and FanDuel, and if you look at our projections at FantasyAlarm, the projection for him is not what I’m wanting for this massive price tag. Carolina hasn’t been overly tough on receivers, but they haven’t been a breeze either.
Carolina loves to sit in Cover 3, and A.J. Brown hasn’t destroyed Cover 3 like he has other defensive schemes. My fear here is that the game script gets away from the Philadelphia passing attack, seeing as they are nearly two touchdown favorites.
During Philadelphia’s eight-game win streak, they have the lowest pass rate in the league, and they have only thrown the ball 29.2 percent of the time in the second half because they are leading, per Fantasy Points’ Data Suite. Game script is my fear here, and the fact that Brown may only have 2.5 quarters worth to amass any sort of production.
NFL Week 14 WR Play Of The Week
Puka Nacua, Los Angeles Rams - DraftKings: $7,700 | FanDuel: $8,600
When the Rams are in a game where there are a lot of projected points, you have no choice but to play Puka Nacua. He leads all Rams wideouts in targets, receptions, yards, and Y/RR versus zone coverage over the last four weeks, and Buffalo has been very zone-heavy the past month or so.
Regardless of defensive coverage, Nacua is widening the gap as the team’s WR1, and he’s used in a more dynamic manner than Cooper Kupp, which is why Nacua is more enticing in DFS. He’s expensive, but he has at least eight targets in four straight games, and he has either a touchdown or 90+ yards in five of his last six.
