Week 3 of the NFL season is always a big one for the Fantasy Alarm family as we’ve seen some huge wins over the years. To keep that trend rolling, we begin our research with the best NFL DFS Week 3 Watch List.

If you’re new to Fantasy Alarm, then you may not know the DFS history here. While we’ve enjoyed a vast number of wins over the years. Two years ago, a gentleman we’ll affectionately refer to as Millionaire Mike took down the DraftKings Milly-Maker in Week 3 and two years before that, our good friend Bob Boris took down the FanDuel Sunday Million also in Week 3.

Does that put some pressure onto us to help lead someone to a six-figure win this week? Maybe. But it’s pressure that we’re happy to take on. Let’s see some green, baby!

Best NFL DFS Week 3 Watch List For 2024

What makes NFL Week 3 so special to us is that we now have two weeks’ worth of data to study and a much better idea as to where coaches are going with their personnel packages and their play-calling.

You’ll start to see some consistency with snap counts and even DVOA data, which I have always enjoyed using, is starting to take better shape. All of this, plus all of our preseason research, comes together nicely and enables us to really turn things out, especially here on the best NFL DFS Week 3 Watch List.

Allow me to remind you that this watch list is just the beginning of your research. A first step, if you will. As the week goes on, you will see all of our DFS positional coaches, the NFL DFS Playbook with Example Lineups and all the other fantastic content we have here to help guide you through your research. Even the season-long content like the Target Report and all the videos you see on the Fantasy Alarm YouTube page will help you with your DFS lineup decisions.

Top DraftKings DFS Week 3 Watch List

Deshaun Watson, QB Cleveland Browns ($5,500)

I get it. You hate him. He’s a terrible person. I won’t disagree with that, but DFS is business and in business, we don’t care about your feelings. It’s about winning and it’s about money. Watson’s numbers over the first two weeks of the season have not been great, but after taking on a couple of solid defensive units like the Cowboys and Jaguars, Watson gets a breather with the Giants.

New York hasn’t allowed a ton of yards through the air, but opposing quarterbacks have posted 8.2 yards per pass and a 105.5 rating. He’s got the ability to extend plays with his legs, he’s got solid receiving weapons and a supportive ground game to help keep the pressure off. Best of all, this bargain price means he doesn’t have to do too much to return value.

Jordan Mason, RB San Francisco 49ers ($6,200)

The folks in season-long fantasy football are already calling Mason a league winner. For our purposes here, it’s about him being such a crazy bargain still on DraftKings. How is he not priced up higher after back-to-back 100-yard games and two touchdowns?

The Rams defensive line is a hot mess without Aaron Donald and they’re allowing the third-most rushing yards per game at 197. Sure, it’s just two weeks, but between the offensive injuries that will lead to a number of three-and-outs and the softness of this defense, Mason should be in line for another heavy workload and strong performance.

Greg Dortch, WR Arizona Cardinals ($4,500)

If you caught my Players to Watch for Week 3 video, then you already know how I feel about using Dortch this week. This is about the poor slot coverage of the Lions and the opportunities Dortch will have in front of him. Over the first two weeks, the Lions have been decimated by slot receivers.

Granted, it was Cooper Kupp and Chris Godwin, neither of whom Dortch is superior to, but the Lions slot corners have allowed a total of 21 catches for 227 yards and two touchdowns. Dortch might just be considered a chain-mover, but at this price and in a PPR format, I’m willing to take that shot that Kyler Murray will also find him in the end zone.

George Kittle, TE San Francisco 49ers ($5,700)

It’s been a rough start to the season for the high-end tight ends, but Kittle is primed for some outstanding work in the coming weeks. With no Christian McCaffrey or Deebo Samuel, we’ve got a ton of vacated targets that Kittle will pick up, as opposed to Jauan Jennings or one of the other random wideouts.

He posted seven catches for 76 yards and a touchdown last week against the Vikings and should have another game filled with opportunities. The Rams already rank dead-last in DVOA against the tight end and opposing quarterbacks are targeting the position roughly seven times a game for an average of 66 receiving yards.

Best FanDuel DFS Week 3 Watch List

Brock Purdy, QB San Francisco 49ers ($7,400)

Well, if I like Mason and I like Kittle, why wouldn’t I go to Purdy, especially at this price on FanDuel. I love it when the pricing goes down after on bad game and we’re 100-percent here to take advantage of it.

As mentioned above, the Rams defense is looking pretty awful right now with a limited pass rush, an average of 229 passing yards allowed per game and coverage that is allowing opposing quarterbacks a chance to post a 121.4 rating against them. You don’t need to pay up at the position when you’ve got such a tasty bargain sitting here waiting for you.

Jerome Ford, RB Cleveland Browns ($6,500)

Don’t worry about D’Onta Foreman out-touching Ford last week. The Browns were in the somewhat surprising position of having a two-score lead in the second half and they opted to just run out the clock. Could they do that this week as well?

Sure, but the Browns need to get that lead first and while we’re bullish on Watson, Ford is getting a spectacular match-up as the Giants are allowing an average of 163 rushing yards per game right now which is fifth-most allowed in the NFL. Expect a nice dose of Ford throughout the first half while the Browns look to pile it onto the scoreboard.

Jameson Williams, WR Detroit Lions ($6,300)

It’s not that I think the Lions are just going to alternate between Williams and Amon-Ra St. Brown. I think both will continue to eat throughout the season., But after such a strong game from St. Brown, you know the Cardinals are going to focus on him. That should leave Williams in more one-on-one matchups downfield which is exactly what we want.

It’s half-point PPR on FanDuel and the added bonuses of a 100-yard effort should definitely be in-play. Even though it’s only been two weeks, when the DVOA points out that Arizona ranks 25th against the opposing WR2, we pay attention to things like that.

Dalton Schultz, TE Houston Texans ($5,500)

Last week, Kittle posted 76 yards and a touchdown against the Vikings and now Schultz gets a strong opportunity against them. What I like about using Schultz on FanDuel is that we aren’t worried about the number of catches. We’re looking for red zone looks and touchdowns.

With the rest of the Vikings secondary worried about Stefon Diggs, Nico Collins and Tank Dell, the coverage against Schultz is going to be in the form of some clunky linebacker. For a nice bargain price, if Schultz can enjoy even just a decent game, he’s going to return some nice value.
