We’ve been dreading Week 12. There’s a season high SIX teams on bye this week. Next week there are no teams on bye for Thanksgiving and then we get hit with another six-team bye week in Week 14.

Luckily, we are built for this exact situation with our fantasy football streamers article! It’s weeks like these that separate the contenders from the pretenders so buckle up and let’s earn that playoff spot!

Fantasy Football Streamers For 2024 NFL Week 12

This article works in conjunction with our Waiver Wire Adds and Stashes articles.

The waiver wire article includes the best players to pick up in general - they have both short term and long-term upside. But they might not be available, or you might get outbid. In our waiver wire stashes article, we look at longer term options. But those aren’t guys you can necessarily start this week.

The Week 12 fantasy football streamers article is this one - guys that you can reasonably acquire off the wire AND potentially start this week.

We know that folks play in varying league depths so we’ll include any players that MIGHT be available (especially for really good matchups). And we’ll throw some honorable mentions in there for the really deep leagues. So, let’s dig into the Week 12 Fantasy Football Streamers!

Week 12 QB Streamers

Geno Smith - Seattle SeahawksYahoo: 57% | ESPN: 49% | Sleeper: 57%

We usually focus on deep leagues here but just wanted to mention Geno Smith as a streaming option this week if he was dropped in your league. He has had a tough schedule while also missing DK Metcalf and hitting his bye week before the 49ers this week.

That saw him get dropped. But he looked good in a win vs. SF, and he gets the Arizona Cardinals this week so he’s a pretty decent start here.

Drake Maye - New England PatriotsYahoo: 14% | ESPN: 3% | Sleeper: 25%

We wrote about him in the main article but, for one week of upside at QB, give me a mobile quarterback.

Drake Maye should be playing from behind here vs. Miami unlike the Chicago Bears game so he’ll be back to letting it fly. And, hopefully, letting loose with his legs on the scrambles.

Week 12 RB Streamers

Ameer Abdullah - Las Vegas Raiders Yahoo: 0% | ESPN: 1% | Sleeper: 0%

We talked about Ameer Abdullah in the main article. If both Alexander Mattison and Zamir White are out for Week 12, Ameer is the top streamer. If one of them is active, he’s more of a PPR only streamer like Justice Hill or Jerome Ford

Cam Akers - Minnesota VikingsYahoo: 17% | ESPN: 17% | Sleeper: 22%

We don’t know for sure whether this role is the new role for Cam Akers or whether it is just a temporary one while we wait for Aaron Jones to get over his rib injury.

But what we do know is that he’s gotten double digit carries in back to back weeks while also running double digit routes in each week. Which is hard to find right now from a “backup” running back that isn’t rostered in more than 50% of leagues.

Gus Edwards - Los Angeles ChargersYahoo: 27% | ESPN: 26% | Sleeper: 32%

Another main article player but there really aren’t many guys that aren’t just streamers. Gus Edwards is never going to light the world on fire. He might score two touchdowns though at some point simply by being the biggest body in this room.

One thing we do know is that they like getting him out there and giving him a few carries each week. That’s all we can ask for in the streaming world. And that role probably won’t change for the worse - it can only get better if something happens to JK Dobbins.

Week 12 WR Streamers

Elijah Moore - Cleveland BrownsYahoo: 8% | ESPN: 10% | Sleeper: 19%

We don’t know who will leave this Browns team in targets in any given week. It’s honestly been a different player each week between Cedric Tillman, David Njoku, Jerry Jeudy, and Elijah Moore. What we do know though is that it’s highly consolidated among those guys.

And that, in any given week, one of them COULD blow up. Isn’t that what we look for in a weekly streamer. Some semblance of floor and a taste of upside? This goes for Cedric Tillman and Jerry Jeudy if they are out there but Moore is the most readily available.

Demario Douglas - New England PatriotsYahoo: 28% | ESPN: 26% | Sleeper: 44%

Our PPR steamer extraordinaire! And he’s still out there in a good chunk of leagues. He might not be a full time player. And he might run very shallow routes in terms of aDot. But we can reasonably expect him to get us 5 or so targets in any normal matchup (where he’s not sick like the Jaguars game).

The ceiling might not be tremendous, especially in standard leagues, but you could do worse. We do like Kayshon Boutte better, as we wrote in the main article, but Douglas is an option.

Noah Brown - Washington CommandersYahoo: 10% | ESPN: 11% | Sleeper: 3%

This was a down week for Brown. And we were advising him as a streamer last week which hurts. But the conditions that led us to Brown in the first place did not change.

In fact, Noah Brown quietly led the Commanders WR group in snaps with 51, slightly more than the 47 for Terry McLaurin. That’s actually the third time in four weeks where he has either matched or surpassed McLaurin for snaps.

We like the offense. We like this quarterback (when he’s healthy). And we like the matchup this week vs. the Cowboys. Jayden Daniels should continue to get healthy, and Noah Brown will remain on the streaming radar.

Week 12 TE Streamers

Hunter Henry - New England PatriotsYahoo: 45% | ESPN: 64% | Sleeper: 49%

Hunter Henry is our top waiver add once again so, naturally, he’s also our top streamer. If you can get him, Zach Ertz, Jonnu Smith, or Will Dissly based on our rankings in the main article, those are the guys you should go for as they have both appeal this week and long term. If not, the guys below are deeper options.

Theo Johnson - New York GiantsYahoo: 1% | ESPN: 2% | Sleeper: 5%

This is dicey territory. But desperate times call for desperate measures. Johnson earned the starting job right from the jump which is always a promising sign as a rookie. But they started the season with him blocking on a lot of pass plays and not being part of the attack much. In the games right after Andrew Thomas went down, he also blocked on 7 pass plays in back-to-back games.

But, as of late, he’s been running more routes and getting some looks. With the change in QB to Tommy DeVito, this one is a bit of a wild card. It could be a nightmare or he could lean on the tight end. One thing working in Johnson’s favor is that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been one of the best matchups for tight ends all season.

Ja’Tavion Sanders - Carolina PanthersYahoo: 2% | ESPN: 1% | Sleeper: 8%

If Tommy Tremble were out for the season, we would love JT Sanders. In the games without Tremble he’s been a reliable target in this offense. However, it looks like Tremble is going to go - he returned to practice this week after getting married during the bye week. Adam Thielen is also expected to return which could further muddy the waters.

That said, Ian Thomas was just put on season ending IR, so this three-way rotation is now a two-man team. And Tremble is the better blocker than Sanders. In deeper leagues, Sanders could be a dart throw in a plus matchups this week vs. the Chiefs. We believe in the talent, especially in dynasty leagues.

Week 12 K Streamers

Spencer Shrader - Kansas City Chiefs, Yahoo: 7% | ESPN: 7% | Sleeper: 14%

Perhaps this might be blasphemous to the kicker analytics community. But, when it comes to streamers, I’m not overly concerned with individual talent. I care mostly about whether the team can put them in a position to kick field goals and whether the coach is willing to let the guy kick rather than going for it.

This week the Chiefs get the Carolina Panthers and I expect plenty of opportunities here. The Chiefs have already had their bye week and Harrison Butker is one IR so I plan to just roll Shrader out moving forward in a few leagues.

Jason Myers - Seattle Seahawks, Yahoo: 6% | ESPN: 4% | Sleeper: 8%

With DK Metcalf back, the Seahawks offense is back to firing on all cylinders. They just beat the San Francisco 49ers.

This week they face the division leading Arizona Cardinals, who are not leading the division based on their defense. I like using Myers here and, if he does well, he faces the Cardinals again in two weeks in the dome in Arizona.

Week 12 DST Streamers

Washington Commanders DST, Yahoo: 21% | ESPN: 29% | Sleeper: 21%

A lot can change as the NFL season progresses. But it is difficult to shake the stigma attached to certain players or teams based on their early performance. For instance, D’Andre Swift had an atrocious three-game start but has since been great.

I wouldn’t necessarily call the Commanders “great”, but they have been playing a lot better as of late. And they might even get trade acquisition Marshon Lattimore back this week. Either way, they face the Dallas Cowboys which is a smash spot for turnovers.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers DST, Yahoo: 14% | ESPN: 9% | Sleeper: 25%

Honestly, I don’t really even care if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense is good. Whoever is facing Tommy DeVito in his first NFL start this season is a good option. Bonus points that Tampa Bay is coming off their bye week.

  • Honorable Mentions: CHI vs. MIN, CLE vs. PIT, NYG vs. TB

Make Use Of These Fantasy Football Streamers & Good Luck!

In a perfect scenario, your starting team is packed with all-star talent. Your bench would ideally feature a solid mix of high-potential players from our Waiver Wire Article or some deeper stash options. But let’s be real, fantasy football isn’t always perfect.

Sometimes, you just have to grit your teeth and play the guy who gives you the most reliable performance, even if he’s not the most exciting choice. That’s where these Week 12 fantasy football streamers come into play.

Sure, the breakout players later in the season might be the ones that clinch the championship, but you’ve got to make it to the playoffs first to have a shot at winning it all.
