NBA DFS Picks, Projections, Lineups, Injuries & More Today: Friday Playbook

When we look at playing SGA, the next thing that follows is will the game stay close? This game is one of the only on the board with a semi-close spread so we should get full minutes out of him here.

Since the All-Star break, Tyrese Haliburton has been incredible. His USG isn't exactly as high as we'd like, but his 21.8% USG is solid. The FP/min production is where he's hanging his hat posting 1.49 FP/min on both DK and FD. He faces the 30th ranked defense in the NBA too.

Even Collin Sexton being back hasn't impacted Collier at all. He has a 3.33% USG bump up to 22.7% without Collins, Clarkson, Markkanen, and Kessler. He's also at 1.01 FP/min too. The minutes are consistently in the 30s and the fantasy production has largely followed suit.

Since LaMelo Ball went down, KJ Simpson has been a .84 FP/min player, so solid. His usage rate is sitting right at 20% as well. Also solid. His price has dipped back below 5K on DK and this matchup, against the Kings, is elite as they rank 26th in DRtg over their last 15 games.

Chris Paul's minutes looked as good as they ever will last game because Devin Vassell but they've been largely fine in competitive games in general. He's topped 28 or more in four of five and in three of them he's been at 26 DKP or more. Without Wmeby, Fox, and Sochan this year, CP3 is sitting at a solid 1.06 FP/min.

Donovan Mitchell had struggled for a lot of the second half as he's battled through an injury but man, he's definitely past all of that. He's been incredible recently notching 50+ DKP in four straight games and the minutes are trending upwards. We just need this game to stay close because there are 241 implied points but a +13.5 spread.

Shaedon Sharpe? Shaedon Sharpe. This guy has been unbelievable. I'd give him a slight bump down if Anfernee Simons plays, but look at the last two games without him. 33+ points and 56+ DKP. With Simons, Ayton, and Henderson out, he has a 3.8% USG bump up to 29.2% USG.

We don't know who's in and who's out for Toronto, but they've committed to Walter in their starting lineup without Gradey Dick available. He's topped 30+ minutes in four of five games and he has 27+ in each of the last five. Over this span, he leads the team in minutes, he has a 17% USG – which isn't great – but .94 FP/min is solid.

Lu Dort has a ceiling but also has a low floor. To be fair to Dort, he's topped 23 DKP in five of his last six games and the one in which he didn't, he only played 26 minutes. His price has dipped to a number it hasn't been since January 19th.

I prefer this play on DK. He's cheaper on DK than FD by $600 and you get the three-point bonus to boot. He's played 20+ minutes in six straight and it coincides with Ty Jerome being sidelined.

Nobody ranks worse defensively over the last 15 games than the Phoenix Suns. The Celtics could possibly be without Jaylen Brown, and that would obviously be elite spot for Tatum.

We know Ayton, Grant, Scoot, and Rob Will is out and with those players out, Avdija is a 23.3% USG and 1.27 FP/min. If you also remove Simons from the floor, nobody is better from a FP/min. He sits at a 28% USG and 1.56 FP/min without Simons and the rest of the bunch.

With Dillon Brooks suspended, we should see Tari Eason slide into the starting lineup today. Without Brooks, Eason has a 19.3% USG but averages 1.1 FP/min. It's a tougher spot, but he can put up monster FP outputs.

The price isn't great with how up and down his minutes are from game-to-game , but he's a high usage player and can be a great scorer when he gets it going. He did play 33 minutes last game and has topped 24 in three of four. 

The price has really dipped to a point I'm incredibly interested in, especially in this spot. Without Ty Jerome this year, Hunter has a 3.5% USG bump up to 22.8% USG while averaging 1.01 FP/min. Over the past 15 games, the Spurs are 28th in DRtg.

Only 10 times this year Chet Holmgren has played 30+ minutes and in those games, he's averaged 18.8 points, 11.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 2.6 blocks, and 1.3 steals across 33.2 minutes. He's underpriced when he's actually extended. It's a 6.5-point spread and he's one of my favorite plays because of it.

Kyle Filipowski has been very impressive when extended during his rookie campaign and without Collins, Clarkson, Markkanen, Kessler, and Williams, Filipowski has nearly 20% USG and averages 1.12 FP/min with everyone out.

I like this play, don't love it. They could extend Smith with Dillon Brooks out but with Tari Eason likely to start in his place, it's a 50-50 whether or not we get 30 minutes. In such a tough spot, we want the minutes maximized. He's had 27+ DKP in four of five and double-doubles in three of four.

We're unsure who Toronto will be with/without here, but Mogbo has been quite solid on the minutes front. He's played at least 24 nine straight and has played 28 & 31 in two straight. That and the price stand out the most.

I'll pay Harry B the respect he probably deserves here. He's been pretty good without Fox, Wemby, and Sochan averaging .84 FP/min. He's quite solid lately scoring 30+ DKP in b2b and 20+ in 4 of five.

Sabonis is solid. Nothing I'm going out of my way to play. But solid. He's $600 more today than he was the other day. I definitely prefer him on FD sub-10K, but overall it's a good spot.

We could be seeing the return of Cade Cunningham here, but they're without Ivey and Harris, that we know. Duren has a 17% USG and averages a robust 1.2 FP/min without them. He's at 1.27 FP/min if Cunningham sits. He also has a 20.4% USG to boot.

Turner's been really solid per minute this year and it's been tied to Tyrese Haliburton this year. With Pascal Siakam off the floor – listed QUEST – Turner has a 23.8% USG and averages 1.09 FP/min. I like him without Siakam and he's close to a core without him.

Clingan's really hitting his true powers as the season comes to a close and the minutes have been great. The team is largely short-handed, and Clingan's played 29+ minutes in three straight and four of five.

FD ONLY - Nikola Jokic. Yes. Nikola Jokic is good. If you want to spend up on him, I'm not the one to stop you.

FD ONLY - Curry has a massive ceiling and has been showing it lately. This spot against Denver is fantastic, too, as they rank 23rd in DRtg over the last 15 games. Curry's ceiling is great.

FD ONLY - The Pelicans are short-handed and Alvarado is a solid play coming off a double-double. Jordan Hawkins is out again and Alvarado should hover around 30 minutes. When he makes shots, he has a big-time ceiling at this price.

FD ONLY - We're going to see Antonio Reeves in the starting lineup again. Reeves was bad last time out, but he's going to get shots up against a subpar Lakers defense on a back-to-back. Over the last 15 games, the Lakers rank 20th in DRtg.
