We're nearly a week away from the half point of the season. There are seven teams within three games of the San Diego Padres for the final berth of the National League Wild Card. It's been a crazy season!

That said, we've got a 12-game main slate with lots of weather to pay attention to. Let's waste no more time. Make sure to check out today's MLB playbook below before you get your lineups in on DraftKings and FanDuel as we present our MLB DFS picks for today, June 25th!

MLB DFS Picks & Daily Fantasy Playbook Today, June 25

MLB Weather Today, 6/25

A storm will hit Cincinnati during the game. It also won't be quickly cleared, meaning we'll probably have at least a delay and potentially a postponement.

There will likely be storms toward the end of the game. Be careful with this game, as it might not be completed.

The major rain should miss the ballpark. The White Sox will still have some light drizzle. But if the major rain somehow pushes more north, this game won't play. For now, the Dodgers and White Sox will play the game with no issues.

There's a low chance of a stray pop-up. As of now, this game should play without issue.

MLB DFS Lineup Construction Thoughts

There are many quality pitchers on tonight's MLB slate. However, if I had to choose my favorite, it would be Hunter Brown. He struggled so much to begin the year but has turned things around when the Astros have desperately needed it.

He's ultimately become the ace of the Astros' staff and is in line to have another terrific game tonight against the Rockies. That said, there are plenty of fantastic options for position players. With 12 games on the slate, the variety is there. Follow the data and run with your gut!

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Seth Lugo, Kansas City Royals

While I think there's better value on the board, Seth Lugo has a high floor against the Miami Marlins. Miami's lineup has hit a .16 ISO and wOBA of .284 against righties over the last month. The projected lineup has also walked just 3.3% of the time against righties in the previous 30 days.

While Lugo only has 19.4% of strikeouts against in the last month, he's still held teams to a .119 ISO and wOBA of .322. In addition, Lugo has earned more than 50% of grounders and has held teams to 23.2% of fly balls. He should cruise past the Marlins, even if he's not getting many strikeouts.

Gerrit Cole, New York Yankees

While Gerrit Cole probably won't pitch to 100 pitches, he's still someone you'll want to consider. After all, he's facing a Mets projected lineup that has struck out 22.2% of the time against righties over the last month. The Mets have six batters who have struck out at least 22.5% of the time against righties.

Cole should at least get through five innings and would likely earn a solid amount of strikeouts in the game. If you're worried about his restrictions, don't play him. Other guys can give similar results without restrictions. Cole should still dominate when he pitches, though.

Hunter Brown, Houston Astros

If you're not ready to risk it with Cole, consider going with Hunter Brown instead. Brown has earned nearly 32% of strikeouts over the last 30 days. He's completely turned things around for the Astros, holding opponents to a .098 ISO and wOBA of .250 in the previous month.

Brown has even induced 55.4% of ground balls and has allowed just 12.2% of line drives. He'll pitch against a Rockies projected lineup that has struck out almost 25% of the time. The Rockies also have four batters hitting an ISO of no better than .077. That'll help Brown swivel out of trouble if he needs to.

Kyle Gibson, St. Louis Cardinals

Kyle Gibson has quietly earned a high strikeout rate over the last month. The veteran righty, who isn't known for high strikeouts, has added 27.8% of strikeouts in the previous 30 days. He's struck out 28.9% of lefties and 26.9% of righties.

Ultimately, Gibson has dominated righties but has struggled against lefties. However, he's taking on a Braves projected lineup that has watched their lefties hit a .165 ISO with 27.1% of strikeouts against righties over the last 30 days. I wouldn't be surprised if Gibson added 5+ strikeouts and held the Braves below two runs through at least five innings. At his low-tier price, that's value.

Brayan Bello, Boston Red Sox

At a low-tier price, Brayan Bello could provide high-tier fantasy numbers. Bello has only struck out 19.4% of batters and likely won't add many strikeouts tonight. However, he's facing a Toronto lineup with a .136 ISO and wOBA of .304 against righties over the last 30 days.

Bello has held righties to a .054 ISO and wOBA of .309 over the last month and will likely face six righties in the Toronto lineup. While Bello has struggled against lefties, he'll take on three lefties that have combined for just a .288 wOBA against righties over the last month. Bello looks to be in line for a quality start. Even if he adds four strikeouts, that's still enough value at his low price.

Core MLB DFS Hitters

Alex Bregman, 3B, Yordan Alvarez, OF, Houston Astros

The Rockies will pitch Austin Gomber for tonight's game against the Astros. He's a lefty who has had his ups and downs this season. Unfortunately for Gomber, he's been trending down lately. Over the last 30 days, Austin Gomber has allowed a .289 ISO and wOBA of .447 to his last 84 batters. He's also earned just 13.1% of strikeouts and has allowed 31.8% of line drives while inducing only 33.3% of ground balls.

Meanwhile, Alex Bregman has smacked a .231 ISO and wOBA of .408 with only 3.7% of strikeouts against lefties over the last 30 days. Yordan Alvarez has also hit a .250 ISO and wOBA of .336 with just 14.8% of strikeouts against lefties. With Gomber's struggles coming against both sides of the plate, we'll ride with Bregman and Alvarez to do damage tonight.

Corey Seager, SS, Josh Smith, 3B, Texas Rangers

The Milwaukee Brewers will pitch Bryse Wilson for tonight's game against the Rangers. Wilson has been solid against righties, but he can't figure out lefties this season. The right-handed pitcher has allowed a .246 ISO and wOBA of .398 to his first 131 lefties this season. He's also earned just 21.4% of strikeouts against lefties and has allowed more than 30% of fly balls.

Even over the last 30 days, he's allowed a .244 ISO and wOBA of .434 to his last 52 lefties. It's been the same old story for Wilson throughout the year. While Texas' lineup hasn't had much success, lefties Corey Seager and Josh Smith have carried the offense.

Seager has hit a .405 ISO and wOBA of .389 with 19.1% of strikeouts against righties, and Smith has earned a .250 ISO and wOBA of .429 with only 11.1% of strikeouts over the last month against righties. Those two have insane matchups tonight.

Corbin Carroll, OF, Joc Pederson, OF, Arizona Diamondbacks

I don't love the idea of fading Joe Ryan. But he's struggled over the last month against lefties. The last 52 lefties against Ryan have hit a .347 ISO and wOBA of .342. Ultimately, Ryan has allowed 36.6% of fly balls and only 29.3% of ground balls against lefties in that time. Meanwhile, Carroll has hit a .152 ISO and wOBA of .394 with 11.5% of strikeouts against righties in the last month.

Pederson has socked a .233 ISO and wOBA of .402 and has hit a 14.3% barrel percentage against righties over the last 30 days. I won't ignore how bad Ryan has been against lefties. Many DFS players could stay away from this Diamondbacks lineup. But you can be different and find success going this route.

CJ Abrams, SS, Washington Nationals

Adam Mazur has an ERA of above 7.00 since coming into the league. Against his first 44 lefties, he's added 6.8% of strikeouts and 27.3% of walks. He's also allowed a wOBA of .464 to those 44 lefties. Even if Abrams walks a couple of times, he still has the potential to add multiple steals.

That said, Abrams isn't usually up there against righties to walk. He's only walked 6% of the time against righties and has hit a .367 ISO and wOBA of .454 against them over the last 30 days. Abrams has a lot going for him in this matchup against Mazur.
