MacKenzie Gore allowed four runs in six innings and took the loss against the Marlins on Sunday.
MacKenzie Gore threw six innings of two-run ball and struck out seven against the Dodgers in a win Monday.
Gore is on the board after going 0-1 with a 2.45 ERA in his first two starts. The only damage against him tonight was the result of a Shohei Ohtani homer. He’ll be an excellent play this weekend with the Marlins next on the schedule.
MacKenzie Gore gave up three runs and nine hits in five innings Wednesday in a loss to the Blue Jays.
Gore failed to excel in the followup to his spectacular Opening Day start, but he wasn’t bad in striking out five and walking two. Only four of the nine hits he allowed came on hard-hit balls, and the 368-foot homer he gave up to George Springer would have stayed in play in 17 ballparks. Gore will get the Dodgers next, making him a less-than-ideal play in mixed leagues.
MacKenzie Gore recorded a career-high 13 strikeouts over six shutout innings on Thursday in a no-decision against the Phillies.
Gore etched his name into Washington’s history books with a franchise-record 13 punchouts in his first career Opening Day start. He thoroughly dominated a strong Phillies lineup, allowing just one baserunner over six nearly flawless frames. He generated an eye-popping 20 swinging strikes, with eight of those coming on his slider, and finished with a sublime 39 percent CSW. The 26-year-old southpaw, who was one of the top pitching prospects in baseball just a few seasons ago, entered the year as a borderline top 50 starter for fantasy purposes. We’re hesitant to overreact to one stellar performance, but he’ll see his value skyrocket if he continues missing bats at near-elite rates. He’ll aim to carry the momentum into a road tilt early next week against the Blue Jays.
