2024 Player Outlook
2023 Recap: Joe Ryan's struggles in 2023 were pretty easy to identify: in the first half of the season, he threw 107 innings with a 3.70 ERA and allowed 16 homers. In the second half, he threw 54 innings with a 6.09 ERA while allowing 16 homers in about half the time.
2024 Outlook: Health is a factor for Ryan this season as his dominant first half in 2023 ended with a groin injury that sent him to the IL and he was never the same after that point. His home runs allowed will determine what level of success he finds in 2024 but Ryan has proven that he can be a dominant pitcher and the hope is that further development and returning to good health can help him become a mid to high-end starting pitcher the Twins need.
