Rangers activated INF Corey Seager off the 10-day injured list.
The Rangers offense has been putrid, but they’ll get their best hitter back for the rubber match against the Mariners. Seager may get a day or two off for maintenance on his hamstring, but he’s obviously someone who has to be added to fantasy lineups as soon as possible.
Corey Seager is hoping to be activated from the injured list before Saturday’s game against the Mariners.
Seager was able to do some light running and and also took live batting practice Thursday. The 31-year-old was placed on the injured list last Wednesday, so this would be a quick activation for Seager. Even if it doesn’t take place Saturday, the left-handed hitting shortstop should be back in the Texas lineup in the coming days.
Rangers placed SS Corey Seager on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain.
MLB.com’s Kennedi Landry reports it’s expected to be a relatively short stint for Seager after an MRI on Wednesday revealed a mild hamstring strain. The 30-year-old shortstop suffered the injury during Tuesday’s showdown against the Athletics. It’ll be veteran defensive standout Nick Ahmed taking his spot on the roster, but we’re anticipating Josh Smith taking over at shortstop during his absence.
Corey Seager (hamstring) will undergo an MRI on Wednesday.
Seager was removed from Tuesday’s showdown against the Athletics in Sacramento with right hamstring tightness. He’ll undergo additional imaging to determine the severity of the issue to determine how much time he’s going to miss. It certainly sounds like there’s a chance he winds up requiring a trip to the injured list. There should be some much-needed clarity on his status at some point prior to Wednesday night’s game.
